- The Bruckell Moonhawk has been in BeamNG.drive for a long time. They also have a drag version of said Moonhawk. It has nearly 1600HP and is just overall an insanely fast car
So today I decide to compare my Automation drag racer, to my favorite drag car in BeamNG.drive. Who will win?!

If only Automation worked better with fully race tuned engines, but alas, it is a game for production cars.
You should start making cars with interiors now that it's possible.

I have a build coming up which i think a basic interior will be cool to do :)
Biggest issue i have is time management, as interiors take a loong time :P

Can you make a drag car with a max size v16 but the exhaust has to be the minimal size

Rye please stop shifting auto transmissions. The Moonhawk cannot be shifted manually. The "1" and "2" are used as engine brakes to slow down the car while going downhill and to not wear out the drum brakes.

Sounded like a combination of your v8 and his supercharger made it sound like you had a gearbox whine and well supercharger

The most popular transmission used in drag cars over 1500 horsepower is the 2 speed power glide because of its strength and it lessens your chance of missing a shift and it keeps you in the power band longer.. All the rules change when you have that much power you don't need all those gears nor do you want them.
You should build a 90s freedom car.
This is basically just who has the fatest rear tyres and the most power
i don't know much about cars but, i'd personally recommend putting better brakes in the front than the rear as when you brake the weight shifts more to the front and only single piston brakes wont stop that well going 180mph
Automation car
I LOVE drag racing and building drag cars in Automation. My personal best is a 6.3 second pass and that's with a FR layout as well. What's the quickest 1/4 mile pass you've made/seen with an Automation car?
drag racing is alot of fun. I actually hit a 5.1 today but that was cheating just a bit XD
fastest true time is 6.5! so 6.3 is very good bud

it would be fun if automation had a collab with forza, and they would make the best car simulator.
where you make your own car and race with friends. or just forza having better tuning platform
the technicality of making the games work together would be insane, would probably be better if forza team picked up automation team and they worked on a brand new game

My preference is supercharger because of a flatter torque curve and a little extra power down low (irl turbos have gotten so good that this may not be the case anymore (

Turbo update brings quad V10s, time to revisit and old car I made. 6L V10
LCV 4.2 is also adding 110 octane fuel too. But it’s not compatible with the campaign I think.

@ j Walster is the engine you’re building NA or turbocharged? I think you can get 1600 out of 3.5 to 4.0 liters of displacement if it’s turbocharged.

I made a truck that does a drag in 7.7(best ive done so far) at about 200mph.

BAR acually was a formula 1 team around the late 1990s the full name of the team was British American Racing, so thats where the BAR stands for
How do I get the mod installed?
You download it, then just copy and paste it into your beamng mod folder (mine is in my computers documents folder > BeamNG.drive > mods)

I'd switch it to MPH and cubic inches to get accurate measures. But good stuff all the same.
You can go in the jbeam. File and u can make the turbo come in at lower rpms

I made a 2000 hp engine in automation in 2 days and shoved it into a racecar it does 1/4 in 7-8 seconds with good launch 7.2 seconds and u need to manually shift at 8000 or 9000 rpms I forgot the rpms limit

Can you test your car in automation itself, instead uploading to beam.ng? Cuz its look like automation have its own ciecuit outside the building
As Myles said yes you can test in automation but it is only a simulation based on specs of your car. I can do it in a build next week but its mostly just for show :P

Hold either Shift, Alt or control and drag on a fixture (i cant recall which button it is as its 2am and i am very tied :P)

Does anyone think this game would be fun without beamng because I don't have an Xbox controller and I wouldn't go out and buy one just for beamng
Yes. You'll probably get a different answer from this community specifically because 90% of them use Automation for Beam, but Automation on it's own can be fun for the sandbox alone, and the campaign exists.
If you like designing cars or want to learn more about cars in general. Automation is a great place to do it!
the campaign mode is pretty good too. I actually owned automation for a while before you could play with beam and i enjoyed it :)
