I have been to almost 30 competitions in my 5 years of competing and I am still watching this just because Tingman's videos are so entertaining.
I have been wanting to go to a comp for a while now but I just haven't yet mostly because I have not really known what to do. This has really helped. Thank you! ❤
I’ve watched many cubing competition tutorials, but I can’t say I’ve found anything like this. This is especially useful for Australians where things like fixed stations are common, unlike where I live in Canada where we don’t use fixed stations. I’ve been to 11 competitions so far, and I would probably recommend this to anybody who has their first competition coming up soon!
Ricky McCube is lucky to go to a comp in Australia. I can confirm that they are very well organized and having fixed stations is so nice.
perfect timing tingman! My first comp is in a week´s time.Your videos are amazing!!!!!!!!
Thank you ting man I just had my first comp and this helped a lot great video
So glad you made this important series for everyone! :)
Pretty cool to see that comps in Australia work slightly different then the ones I went too in Belgium they are without fixed stations and competitors have to wait in a waiting area until a runner call their name
Same here in America
Love the series! You should make a playlist!
Going to my first cube competition in November the south west ga solvers 2023 so pumped up for it
Thanks tingman for this series my comp is in December 10th 😂

Nice
I would like to know some things about being a spectator at the next WCA worlds in Seattle in 2025. Mainly: Are you allowed in if you don’t have family or friends competing? Is there usually a charge to just watch the competition? If I want to volunteer to be a runner how would I do that?
Go to comps, friends. I thought about going to a comp in my area 9 years ago, but I didn't actually go to a comp until this year. Not starting sooner is truly one of my biggest regrets, because once you go to one, you'll definitely want to go to more.
Who’s watching this even though they know everything about competitions
When I am to register, who counts as a guest? Do my parents or family members in general count as guests?
Hello tingman, next year I am going to my first cubing competition but I want to ask something. What does station mean? Does it mean the table number and the cube drop off?
this guy has like 6 comp tutorials d
Like that you made this turorial series. A little thing I would've liked tho is that you could've made it a bit less australia specific and also talked about how certain things might not be true for every competition. For example seated competitors are not a thing everywhere. Additionally there is not always a wca live QR code on your nametag and not always is the nametag eith schedule in the form of a lanyard. I just feel like the way it's presented here (like every comp is the same with these things) it could confuse necomers if their specific first comp is run slightly different.
This video series was made with and for Speedcubing Australia so yeah :) Also if I was going to include every regional variation, this video would be hours long!
I don't think you necessarily had to include a every regional variation, but at least mention that comps in other areas may not entirely work in the same way, but will be mostly similar.
Just so people don't watch the videos expecting the exact same thing elsewhere.
Finally
So useful because i am going to my first comp in november
if you are new do you have to run or scramble or judge? please i hope someone sees this
3:14 Yay im famous (the kid behind the man in white)

I watched this early and came back because of one question:
Can you use a stickerless cube with a sticker set?
Mines Saturday
I have a competition in about a month and it's on my birthday
Ricky McCube 🆒😎💯⁉️🗣️
ARISANDRA? What? Did you stop sleeping!?!?
Please respond can you bring pastel cube
Lol my 3rd competition i lost my lanyard after like 2 hours. i was fine because the groups were online too, but oops...
Remember kids, no logos for blind solving
Can the legend Cuber reply?? Nice cubing😊😊
Dang I made it earlier than usual
Does this apply to comps outside Australia?
most things would be similar. like the delegates wouldn't be wearing red shirts, and you probably wont stay at the same table for all your solves. there would also be some other small variations like whats on the lanyard and stuff.
Hey tingman, How do i know my schedule before the competition?
You (a week to a few days before the competition starts) can check the individual competitor schedule on the competitor groups tab. It's always good to check in case you have something to plan around. Happy cubing!
@@XonXon Thank you for the advice, i hope you have good luck at your next comp. Cheers!
@@XonXon Apparently, i signed up for clock and then my personal Schedule said im not competing in clock
@@nascara5cupseriesa5cubing18 Check your registration, by going onto the register tab, and make sure you're signed in, then check what events you are competing in on the register tab. And if an event that you aren't signed up for, add it! Make sure you save your registration aswell. Good luck competing!
Also make sure that you are trying to change events before registration closes. If the registration time period has already closed then you cannot change events.
Can help review my solves
