HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 5 окт 2024
- Judging is one of the most important roles at a speedcubing competition. This tutorial will cover all the basics you need to know, including how to prepare the solving station, how to start and time inspection, and how to calculate the final solve time. It also explains some of the most common causes of time penalties (+2s) or DNFs (Did Not Finish).

Thank you for making this video! Many people focus on competitors, but only a very very few videos talk about how to be a judge
Who’s watching this even though they’ve judged before?
Me 10 comps lol
Yeah but I am a horrible judge, every time I judge I always do something wrong
Me 😂

Stop bro
Part 4: How to make friends (at cubing competitons) (asking for a friend)
i saw you at worlds
I'll be your friend ❤
He already did that (he said you go up to them and talk to them
Dude.. Thank you so much for this clear tutorial! I’ve been trying to find one that actually explains properly, not in a way they rush it. This is the only tutorial that gave so much information, rather than explaining it in advanced. That’s a subscriber for you!
Note: for the ones who want to judge for clock. If not all clocks are facing 12 o clock then its a dnf. Also for clock it may be easier to cover with the paper and your hand and then slide the paper out because if you cover with you hand only, the clock might fall out.
also if ur judging blind, ignore the inspection thing and use the stopwatch to record the competitor's time if it goes over 10 minutes(unless the time limit for the event is 10 minutes)
Bro thank you so much I have my first competition in 2 days and I have to judge twice and I had no clue how it worked until I saw this thank you so much also the first two vids were helpful as well!
Thanks tingman I just finished my first comp and it went so well 😊
Can you make a video about organizing/staffing?
Thanks for making this video I’ve never been to a competition so thanks for making these videos❤😊
My mom signed me up for judging and I did not know how but this vid helped me
I am really proud to say...
That this man is now going to hit 1million subscribers🎉🎉🎉
Im soon going to first competition and this is really helpful 😊
I love your videos and I got into cubing because of your videos.
Hello! This is a very interesting video! Thank you for making it!
Thank You Tingman
I'm such a big fan
I have one more question (for anyone to help me out)
if the person goes over 17 seconds to inspect, do you still let them do the solve but record it as a dnf, or do you stop them and say like “you’ve gone over inspection” or whatever
I'm pretty sure you can stop them, because it's an instant DNF. But I often see judges just let the person do the solve anyway and tell them afterwards, which I'm not sure I would or wouldn't prefer!
Hi tingman! I saw you in Singapore
Great video! Thank you, have a good day!
Man this is a really good video! Also how old is odor and is she better than in you in any event. and this is one of the best competition tutorial video. I put this comment in every one of these because they are so good. even better than cube heads which was also amazing
thnx alot that was very useful! :)
I just went to my first competition on Saturday, and we had to call the delegate TWICE for my solves that were 45 degrees turned. On one I got a +2 and didn't on the other xD
this was actually really helpful! ty 🥰
Thank you I was never good at this
I love judging
Great video! Can you please tell us why australia has like 40000 comps in 1 month?
5:22 this would be a 2+ 16.782 +2 = 20.782, the first +2 happened before the solve began
I aint doing allat (even though that’s how it’s supposed to be 😅)
Thanks got anymore handy tips tingman?
what i didnt knew that a 180 degree turn is still a plus 2 and not a DNF
Thank you for making these videos
P.S I really want to get the new Tingboy cube but it is too expensive for me I live in Hong Kong so at the cubicle it is all in United States Dollars so I always have to times 7.8 to get how much is it in Hong Kong Dollars
Great series of tutorials, very informative. What happens in the case of a timer malfunction with either stackmat or the stopwatch?
in that case, call a delegate. generally if the timer malfunctioned and turns itself off then it's a DNF, but if the timer stops itself under 0.06 seconds you can call a delegate for an extra. but probably call one anyway just to be sure
@@putian_ye Thanks for the reply 👍

The scrambler forgot to sign the scrambler box. As both judge and the competitor, you should look out for this. Inform this to the delegate
Can you do more unboxing videos
I realised that once one part ends, another is uploaded
Hello tingman on your website x man Vell V2 pyramix is sold out plz refill it as I want to buy it, I am from India and first time buying from your website
I am only 13 and I really want to go to a WCA event but does anyone know how much it costs?
Can you do lego 2x2 rubik’s cube that i made?
Almost 1 million
In your solving video you said to take your cube, but here you said the judge takes the cube. Does the judge take the cube back to the scramblers between solves then the competitor takes their cube after the fifth and final solve?
Judge takes the cube if it needs to be rescrambled for further solves.
Are you going to austrailias November or December cubing comp
Tingman There will be a Rubik's cube competition in Brazil
if the person takes over 17 seconds to inspect and dnfs, does does it matter anymore if the competitor still times and solves the cube?
trust me when i say this, having a judge with bad handwriting is the worst. a 4 second 2x2 solve turned into a 9 second solve on wca live.
can i sleep when they are cubing (no snoring or leaning to the cubers area or interfering them)
Last competition i got a 11 seconds solve which makes me have a pr but the judge wrote the 11 to looks like 14😅 I had to look for a delegate and show them the footage of the same solve.
Hello all, I am curious, was the assignment of being a judge or runner is strictly required and regardless of age or experience? What if the kid is just 5-year old and don't know how to do it yet? Thanks for anyone who can answer. Thank you 😊
nice vid, do you remember me tingman........ live stream
Do we must brought our timer that we buy
Honestly if the cube is very close to 45 degrees I usually don't give them a +2.
I KNOW OLORS NAME ON THE WCA LOL
I LOOKED FOR HOURS
NICE
twice in a row at a comp I had to give someone a +2 because it landed on the timer and they picked it up of there
what is if there is no judge on your namecard?
What if there is a corner twist after the timer had stopped.
Then it's a DNF since the cube isn't solved.
guys which is better tornado v3 or gan 13
Why do you not post any more video?
❤
Alr all of them are posted together.
Nice
Gigachads who watched all three parts:
My pr is 8.55 but it was actually 8.56 but it got entered in wrong
👍
0:52 j'ai la ref
i figuared out ting boys and olors name lol
hehe
Usually, your card shows you which group to judge, but they don't really care if you judge so you don't have to.
Hey tingman
R2 in 3x3 is just a +2???
R2 counts as one mive becayse it can be represented as 1 notation
@@Mary-fd2uq right right. All this time I thought once you do R2 your solve is already DNF.
