Having no enemies means Having no friends. They always gotta be ready, hence why the whole country is a mountain fortress. Alot of people mistake neutrality as pacifism
Switzerland have always went with "i dislike everyone" approach to military neutrality, rather than the more common "i like everyone" approach like Sweden does. Their air force was pretty dated in WW2 but it didnt stop them from frequently forcing planes to land and even shooting them down if need be. Of course, the ludicrous amounts of wealth that the world hoards under Switzerland also helps
Like others said. Switzerland did the whole military thing after the sentence "we dont trust any other country", they basiclly had to make sure that their military was decently equiped since if the werent during WW2 either partys would have invaded and yes i said BOTH.
What's funny is that GP11 Swiss ammo is still relatively plentiful and of high quality. The Swiss were serious about the accuracy of the average soldier, and that carried into the later Stgw.57 with its fine adjustable sights and integral bipod. Fun fact, those sights alone have more parts than the entirety of a Makarov pistol.
Well yeah, the mavkorv is soviet. If I gotta give them one thing. It's making sht simple as can be but operative lol. And yes ik it funny to thing an iron sight has more pieces then a whole a22 pistol
Well, the scope might not have been useful for a sniper, but having the average foot soldier equipped with those could help greatly with accuracy - probably meant that you could then train a soldier into a sniper easier

Which is really strange, by the 1980s bolt actions no longer saw use by infantry, Unlike around the 1960s (COD BO1's time frame) where they still saw some use. Like the Lee Enfield, Springfield M1903, MAS-36, Mosin Nagant, etc.

I have a Swiss K11 (an older model) that is nearly brand new; the previous owner slipped a piece of paper under the butt plate stating his rank, name and serial number. Great rifle, accurate as hell too; ammo is kind of a pain but not impossible to get. Best $400 I ever spent

Just because these weapons were issued to the Swiss army didn't mean they never saw action. The way Switzerland enforced their neutrality was by attacking EVERYONE, Axis or Allies that crossed into Swiss territories. If a US Army Ranger stepped one toe over the border from France and into Switzerland, and the Swiss saw, he likely would have had a dozen K31 rifles, each one issued yo and held by a Swiss border guard shoved into his face muzzle first and safety off while the American's M1 Garand was still held level at the Ranger's waist.
