  • Not a short video such a short Video , I have put 4 videos together , this is how we would Service a Clock movement, although there are many different clock movements the dismantling should follow a similar pattern , this is the way we would do it. We always Dismantle the Clock movement Completely then Clean, We feel this is the only way to do a full Service, our aim is not to get the movement looking all shiny but to insure all pivot holes and pinions are free from dry oil, then pivots are polished pinion holes are pegged out & bushed if need be.

Hi, i did a Perivale Westminster chime a couple of years a go and the problem i had was the synchroization of the clock. Have not done one since, nice to see how you do it. Nice to see you back

The later movements had a combination of lantern pinions and leaf. That is all I can find, so I hope that helps a little.
I have worked on the ones which are a bit later, the ones which have only two winding arbors but has three trains, one arbor winds 2 by means of gears, watch out for those because you get excessive wear in the gears and makes winding very hard and can be dangerous

Hi i am new to clock repair got into it when covid started and just came across your video, nice to see someone from England doing video's, most i have seen are from America and there terminology is sometimes different to what we say and can be confusing for a beginner. Do you clean your clocks in ammonia fluid, great video by the way.
