@@FliteTest I think if Josh's CG was done a little further, then it could fly well in the air. I am a big fan of yours and I am excited to ask you that if you have any equipment that is not in use, send it to me. You don't lack anything, but I have very little equipment. I also make airplanes. Your fan is from Pakistan🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰. You must reply
Guys your audio was all over the place in this video. It is usually spot on. It wasn't just the loud music it was also low and inconsistent vocals. The crash was epic though!
When I saw that the engines had up-thrust of about 10° from being parallel (5:56) with the gold stripe (they should be pointed down), that meant the wing incidence is going to be much more than that. TOO much wing incidence will need way more DOWN than those elevators were ever going to deliver. The nose going STRAIGHT UP into a STALL was going to be the outcome and ALL the DOWN Josh was putting in wasn't going to help Humpty (Lil' Jesse) make it back safely together again. This experiment demonstrates why checking the wing incidence is a CRITICAL factor for a successful plane.
It amazes me how often Flite Test doesn’t check the CG of some of their planes; I don’t believe I saw a CG check in this video. Wing incidence is a little more involved to calculate, but at least balance the CG between the 1/3 and 1/4 mean aerodynamic chord. Or go a step further and use one of the dozens of free online calculators, haha. Although this was a great video with a spectacular ending. I just wish it flew for a couple flights before it crashed. 😂
Thank you for the message we do check CG on every plane we build unfortunately this one ended up with a little more wing incident than we thought and ultimately is the reason it did what it did
-Hmm, I’ll give you benefit of the doubt. Still a super entertaining video as always. -I’d recommend showing more of each plane’s CG and C.R.A.P. checks in future videos. Especially for your designs that you can’t test glide by hand before the first flight, like these big monster builds. -Thanks again for the great content!
@@RoboTekno Yeah, I saw the constellation wings on that bird looking a little too high in the front, worried that might happen, but hey, you win some you lose some!
At least as much of a problem as wing incidence, thrust angle. Pause at 14:12 and take a look at the angle on the motors. As long as power was applied, the nose was gonna rise.
What I find amusing is the expression of the Girl in the Red Shirt at 2:22. Is she wondering " What are these nerds up to now?" Or "Can I go home now?" It is a classic look I've seen too many times at the model flying field.
What an amazing plane! You have to do more commercial-like planes in the future. I’d love to see some kind of Barbie liner or something that could carry old fashioned GI Joes
I knew there was a reason I love you guys... the TWA Super Constellation. I have 2500 hours on the USAF EC-121 (predecessor to the E-3 AWACS). The Connie was the finest 3 engine airplane ever built (if you knew ANYTHING about them, you'd understand). 😍😍

Hi, You must have watched the remake of the Flight of the Phoenix. The original starred Steward. I believe he was a B 17 pilot. RUclips has a video of him flying a B58. The video was about SAC
I love y'alls videos!!! I bought a drone last year and still have no idea what I am doing wrong!!! I've only taken it out 3 times and have crashed it at least 8 times. I followed all the instructions and still no good! I would love to see a couple of videos on prepping, setting up and then do some basic flying!!!!
I learned a lot about aerodynamic and RC hobby because of you sir...As a beginner I started this life-fulfilling subject a couple months ago. Thanks to your and your team I could be able to figure out lots of things through this channel. Keep up the elite work! ❤👌💯🙏
Have you guys done fpv airplane pylon race yet? Also I would love to see a moving aircraft carrier landing. Maybe strap a carrier platform onto a car or something 🤔. Anyway huge fan of all you guys do.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Never saw (nose cam aft) any down elevator applied to correct for the ballooning take off, and, all four motors had positive incidents, negative might have been better.
Duuuudes, that was epic the look on both your faces after the crash is priceless 😂 I’m so scared to crash my first build maiden coming soon! You guys have been a big inspiration to building my own rc aircraft 🤘
The video was fun to watch and the amazing donation of all that gear was huge. I do have to go hrmmm about the opening scene.... I would think one would want to run INTO the light and not away and come back to this world in its current state.
SO LOVE your work guys!!! There is a lot more interest EVERYWHERE in our amazing hobby due to your videos and input online and other areas. Your videos are GREAT to watch!! BLUE SKIES!
When you're stalling lower your elevator to push the nose of the airplane down and ramp up engine power although at such low altitude it might be too little too late🔥🔥🔥 And yes I watch a lot of Mayday Air Crash Investigation 😂👍
Can you invent a parachute recovery system for situations like this? It might help other sketchy builds also. Then again, sometimes you gotta let go...
I was guessing that you throttled back. I did once the same mistake. Better to have some velocity and some kind of passing air over the wings. Once it stalls near the ground, it's gone. As it happened with my toilet pipe airplane
I've got your next project. Are you ready? BUILD A PLANE AROUND AN ECOFLOW. The EcoFlow as the power-source and the core of the infrastructure. THAT would be awesome.
Great video as always but as a number of people have mentioned the loud music made it very difficult to hear the voice track. I look forward to your videos and always play new ones on your channel before anybody else's. Keep producing them!
Just saying you guys should build a f4f Wildcat, make a video about it and put it on the store or a f8f bearcat. Because it would be sooo cool. Thank you
Make an RC flying pancake. It was a real experimental aircraft made by the military. It was a failure because it lost a lot of its stability approximately 10 to 15 feet off the ground. It is called the Vought V-173.
Definitely omit the doll. And 3 RDF motors with 4 brushless powered props. Has it ever been done on a full size aircraft? I wonder if the open cockpit had anything to do with the epic crash?
Boom, shaka laka laka! But it did fly- at least what, 15-20 seconds? Once it entered the wing over, the handwriting was in the sky! Can we do it again?
cool stuff as always!!!Just a note for the editor....please bring the voice level up to or above the music level... Hard to hear Josh without blowing a speaker with the music.......
Now to design it powered by your largest ecoflow and make it fly as long as possible maybe add some thin solar PV and do maximum hight fly challenge with auto rtb
👍🏼nice I also recently got into rc flying and am a massive fan of the channel keep the good work up guys peace ps is that a blackbird in the background
I hope you teach the young up and comers about the importance of weight distribution in relation to the planes center of gravity...Typically it is about 1/3 of the way back on a non-swept back wing.
Can we turn down the music a little bit next time? Please and thank you.
Or maybe turn up the volume on the footage because it's drowned out by the music
Absolutely!!

Totally agree. it was overpowering making it hard to hear you guys talking.
+1 not the best audio
Yes a cut the music please guys!
Yah - No Music required, could barely hear Stefan when he was first inspecting it :(
OMG.....Does this mean they are HUMAN!?? :P
This looks like a perfect example of the old pilot's adage " Planes with the CG to far forward fly poorly, Planes with the CG to far aft fly once."
Очень точная пословица.

Shout out Tyler Perry! That man is always helping everyone! I wish more celebrities were like him!
Did you see Ramyrc go to Tyler perry's house? Awesome video, awesome guys, awesome planes.
Wow, that indoor drone shot was AMAZING! It reminds me of the famous 1 take Steadicam shot from Goodfellas.
Tyler Perry's new house has the coolest flight field and concrete runway being built in Atlanta......it is one of the nicest setups I've seen
I always forget that Tyler Perry is into RC, its just so surreal
Same here just imagine if he somehow made a surprise visit to Edgewater to visit the crew of Flite Test???

This was insane!! love the plane and loved the chaos, Great vids you guys.

Cool video, the music could have been a little louder. I almost made out what the guys were saying.
something id love for you guys to revisit: the ME262 but using EDFs or jet engines instead of pusher/puller props
The audio mix on this was messed up somehow. Master mix was high enough but the vocal tracks were all very quiet
CG anyone?
