1. Yuki makes 2 Propositions for getting rid of Cursed Spirits, not 3
2. When I say Choso’s character reached its natural conclusion I am speaking about his coming to terms with being a failure as an older brother. Kechizu and Eso are dead and Yuji alone. It is hard to say Yuji values Choso in a familial connection sense. Combine that with Kenjaku being the reason for the four’s suffering and Choso dying to him feels extremely fitting.
3. Making the argument for these characters being “wasted potential” is kind of difficult as they do fulfill their roles well and my argument boils down to hype > result. However, hype is created in equal parts by both fans and the author. Typically.

I think youre interpretation of everything is very different from mines.
With yuki it was plain karma. She gave the thought of killing non-sorcerers into the mind of a special grade sorcerer who was clearly going insane and was basically one of the catalysts of the story.
With choso his story is about redemption. He was tricked by kenjaku to kill his little brother and hates himself for it. And in choso's word if the older brother takes a wrong path, the other brothers can avoid it. He was the eldest brother so he had to go first but failed. But with what you said with yuji being alone, thats a lie. After their fight choso vowed to protect him as much as he can and help bare the weight on his shoulders. Any chapter choso is in recently hes literally always with him, he protected him from naoya, gave him the other death painting wombs and from leaks he seems to help teach him. Choso failed but that doesnt mean he can give up and die, for him it means to get better.
With kashimo its much more deep than you think. What sukuna was saying to kashimo in simple terms was that he was too greedy. People like gojo, ishigori, kashimo were unsatisfied with their own life cuz nobody could have competed with them in their time so they go through crazy lengths to fight the strongest sorcerer to appease their hunger to just end up dead. They had everything they wanted but they weren't filled and needed more. Kashimo and ryu transcended time and broke a law of the universe to fill their hunger while gojo wanted to have yuji eat all the fingers so he could have fought sukuna. They should have reaped what they sowed and be grateful but instead go through crazy lengths to just end up dead. Sukuna understood it but it indeed is really foolish.
@@ethanleongsem7582 I like your interpretation but when I said Choso left Yuji, I was referring to the situation before fighting Kenjaku. As for the Kashimo's thirst for a challenge and ill satisfaction, I think we had enough people who wanted to fight Sukuna. Gojo and Yorozu were already enough. Yuji also had a debt to settle with Sukuna if you want to go that far as well. Kashimo should've been like Ishigori just a stronger version of him like I highlighted in the very.
tru tru very tru. But another thing about kashimo is that hes the new jogo where he acts as a device to show how strong other characters are. It supposed to show how sukuna true form is the greatest form a sorcerer can get and such. But gege always cuts people short of showing their abilities or potential. Principal yaga being a special grade candidate, mechamaru(the goat), geto if he got rika would be broken. Imagine after maximum uzimaki all those cts get stored into rika and not a one time use. I disagree with Kashimo being the new Jogo because we already knew Sukuna was a tier above because of the story, who he's beaten, and his victory over Gojo who was the best chance the sorcerers had. Jogo served as a punching bag because he was too far above the cast in power and could not touch Gojo or Sukuna. He exists in a limbo of sorts as too strong for the weaker characters but not strong enough for the strongest characters. Kashimo was vaguely above Hakari, he's just meant to be another Ishigori and Yorozu. He adds to the unsatisfied theme throughout the story.
In regards to cutting people off from their potential, they were never really meant to. Principal Yaga understood the necessary mindset for an effective sorcerer but never pursued it for his own reasons (I'm assuming). Mechamaru thought he could defeat Mahito and Kenjaku without knowing the full extent of their abilities and spent most of his life scorning his condition which I would think limited him. He wanted to rejoin his friends rather than pursue some great strength because such power like from his Heavenly Restriction caused him nothing but pain.
Geto has always relied on outside factors for his strength, never learning DE and relying on Yuta's appearance to feel like he had the chance to take on Gojo and Jujutsu Society as a whole.
I don't think Gege cuts these characters' potential off but knows they would never reach the apex they could have. That's what I think at least.
Great that you wrote about your 3. point in this comment. I feel that part of complains come from what shonen manga/anime consumers used to and what expectations they have.
This is different story and not everyone needs to like it. But its also funny that always when something unexpected happens people get sour about it. The way Gege writes his story allows a lot of speculation and theory crafting in community for long time. And when those theories dont come into actuality it will always disappoint lot of people.
The fact that Kashimo's mythic beast amber had paragraphs of explanation and a wicked design, only for it to be explained that Sukuna's way stronger because he has two extra arms and an extra mouth is laughable. I don't mind the dialouge with Sukuna in his final moments, but he should have done way more damage to Sukuna or had a better battle that his Technique deserved.
Yes. A disappointing finish for someone the fanbase and himself were hyping up to the savior of the verse of sorts.
That long explanation could’ve been just to have people take Kashimo seriously, perceive him as someone who can possibly be a piece in defeating Sukuna but truth is that he’s the Culling Games’ Jogo who’s role is to make Sukuna hopelessly unbeatable.
Let's be real here kashimo new form was mid nothing special about it his average lighting aura was something more special to be honest

kashimo feels like he was introduced when gege didnt want to rush the story , being a sort of 3 pillar to sukuna and gojo cuz he was the strongest of his era but never arrived in a conlusion like the former 2. also , letting him have the entire concept of eletricity at his fingertips to justt scream loudly and then get wrecked fells ike such a waste.

Truth is I didn't expect him to win but with the way they describe his ct even do people are like just another lightning cloak I thought otherwise I hoped they made a paned out fight like 4 chapters at least . But no they massacred him and he lost all his reputation . But yeah your right like they way some of the culling games characters were being treated I fell into the kashimo hype long long ago .Tbh I would have gladly traded takaba vs kenjaku for kashimo vs sukuna ..
I don't know about Yuki but Kashimo completed his arc before we even saw him, all he wanted was to fight the strongest at his strongest.

Sukuna and Kenjaku seem to have an effect like this. They take all expectations you would have of a shounen and stomp them out. Their presence in the story isn't merely as an obstacle but as controlling components of the entire narrative. Kenjaku, if he actually does die from Yuta, only hammers that home even more. There was no big fight. There was no dramatic final clash where Yuta puts everything he has into one blast like how he defeated Geto. Jujutsu Kaisen is not that kind of story anymore, and it's entirely because of Sukuna and Kenjaku simply existing a thousand years beyond when they should have died. Kashimo and Yuki getting cut short before realizing their goals just adds to how much Sukuna and Kenjaku break the world of JJK. They are like a cancer to the world and the story of JJK

Thing is subversions and the like to that extent are only good if they're satisfying. If they're not satisfying even if they're doing things that are unexpected that doesn't make it good.
The new Star Wars trilogy does this exact thing and everyone hates it.
Or Gege just has writing flaws and he’s trying to finish the series quicker than it should be. With how many characters it should be a 10+ year story where all characters have a big moment and potential realized like dragon ball or one piece
Unless you're a diehard Sakuna or Kajuju simp, the story is becoming dull and unsatisfying. It's literally just the opposite of making the protagonists OP with no stakes. The only reason why people claim it's so unique and groundbreaking is because the anime industry is that stagnant when it comes to storytelling.
Everyone is going to die, everyone is going to end up sad, that's the "harsh reality" yada yada yada. We can read these kinds of story on Wattpad since they're a dime a dozen. People are going to do a retrospect on JJK and realize how embarrassingly bad the writing is.

Gege literally wasted good characters with CT that could work very good and more on this current arc; Yorozu, Yuki, Kashimo, Nobara, Todou. I actually notice that Gege kills or put away those characters cus CT or potential can give more chance to the main characters. More now is this current moments.
Great analysis, yuki really does feel unfinished it would be cool to get a one shot of yuki’s travels and how she trained todo.
It genuinely annoys me to no end to see how hard Gege fumbled both of these characters, i was super excited to see both of them in action and they’re both some of my favorite, so to see them handled so poorly bruh…

So that explains everything about why It does not follow other Shonen Troops. Obviously why do we think it is a waste opportunity that we couldn't get "What if Potentially from so many characters" is because like I said It never goes acc to what you expect.

Subverting expectations, making a "realistic" story is stupid. The whole idea is funny.
For me it’s not just these two who have wasted potential. Everyone in the story who died besides Gojo and Nanami reached their full potential or could’ve fight all out. I’m sure there’s a thematic reason like “that’s just realist blah blah blah” but it suck’s as a viewer imo

Nanami never used their domain expansion, so he did reach peak, but they didn't ever use it.
And that thematic reason has gotten very stale,every criticisim of anything in jjk the entire community flushes down to "cope" "that's realistic" 'meat rider" "it's thematic".
Gege really needs to come up with more to do with characters than killing them off. I say this as the Ryu Ishigori fan lol. Like, seriously, just because there is an opportunity to kill off a character doesn't mean that it should be the first option taken. Its for that reason I feel a lot of potentially interesting character dynamics just end up being squandered or not going anywhere from where they start out.
Like, I'm fine with death happening, but surely that death should actually mean or lead to something and should sit with the readers for a bit. For example, I felt literally nothing about Yorozu's death despite how much focus she was given because it was detracting from the much more pivotal death of Tsumiki, who was someone that readers could actually vouch for seeing alive for Megumi's sake. But in the end we didn't get any focus on Megumi losing his reason for fighting beyond one silent page.
It's very clear why Megumi lost his reason for fighting.
@@red.4712Yeah, but at the same time, it does land emotionally since the fight didn't focus on Megumi. Compare Megumi losing his sister to the extended suffering that Yuji was shown going through in Shibuya.
Deaths happen too irl but they dont lead to much as well. Someone u just came to know n hour ago can die aswell.
@@hystic2728Yeah, people die all the time. But that doesn't mean those deaths didn't effect someone, or that those deaths occurred in a vacuum. Like, for the Tsumiki example, Tsumiki was the most important person in Megumi's love, yet we spent no time actually focusing on how or why that left him so distraught because we had plot to rush through.

Kashimo has such a LARGE FUCKING AMOUNT OF "electric phenomenon" and the OOOOONLY THING gege choses is mouth blast?? Not producing jets to fly around, not making massive thunder strikes like is the dude who is comprised of electrical energy really THAT much slower than fuckin sukuna? Tbh I also think it's because of the anime he's taking some liberties. Like he wanted to skip past Kashimo, and Yuki had some time, but we didn't see all of her (tbh I don't mind how Yuki was handled). Whereas in the anime, every fight even minor ones get extra detail, action and scenes that Gege has at least some involvement in. At the very least Kashimo is getting a much longer fight.

gege turned one of the most loved and hyped characters characters in the story into plot fodder purely to further sukunas characterization then threw him away right after, genuinely top 5 worst fumbles of a character oat
except kashimo also got characterization from it and helped forced sukuna to transform into his original form
Kashimo was introduced with the promise of a fight. We did not get a fight. Which just makes the fact that he holds the title of "The Strongest" just laughable along with his "Cursed Technique and a dream" levels in the jujutsu skill tree.

I love Jjk, but I think Gege and some other modern writers are addicted to “subverting expectations” and shock value. It’s great once or twice, but it’s anime let us see some more screen time and cool techniques before you pull out the guillotine.
(Side note, I actually am fine with gojo dying as I think he needed to die to propel our MC forward, not commenting on how he died. But mentor characters that powerful need to go for the story purpose. Plus we got to see lots of gojo shining)
This. it's a fine line to walk when using death as a subversion of expectations. Do it improperly and all the viewers get is shock value and disappointment.
Using under-developed/barely developed characters for said shock value and you get a half-baked series.
Modern writers love being "different" lol. It's a curse. Jjk isn't even that unique and jjk fans have deadass written paragraphs to fight me😂

Finally someone said it. I’ve felt insane feeling this exact thing for these characters. People can feel how they feel about kashimo that’s debatable even tho I think he was wasted. Honestly it would've been much better if Kashimo atleast traded some proper blows or attacks with Sukuna, even if it was obviously in Sukuna's favor, it would've been nice to see him do a little better with his technique.
Eh, I do think their power itself was wasted. I think they could’ve had more fights, or flashback fights, but overall as characters I think they filled the role they were meant to. Yuki was the antithesis to kenjaku, and was selflessness personified by design, which is y she lost. She was so strong because her selflessness was selfish in the same way yuta’s would be, that they want to be the hero, and want no one to sacrifice themselves but for themselves. It makes sense y and how she lost to kenjaku. Kashimo was supposed to represent y the strongest title isn’t even a feat that should be sought after, he’d gone thru a crisis of loneliness and found life pointless without a challenge. Until Sukuna came along, showing Kashimo just how far from the roof of strength he was. It wasn’t even Kashimo downplay, it was just that he was crippled by his mindset, and that’s y Sukuna set him straight. Sukuna never even worries abt the idea of loneliness, never worries abt the concept of care even. “I think therefore I am”. Sukuna embodies what jujutsu peak looks like as of now, and it’s a cruel disaster that no one can even hope to match. That’s y yuji is perfect, because he’s now taken the full brunt of having everyone he’s cared abt taken, irrecoverably damaged, or emotionally scarred. His ambitions are to give everyone a natural death by his own definition, an act of selfishness that exceeds that of just wanting to be the strongest, and devour anything. He wants everyone to die the way he decides is the right way, and though it’s not a morally evil thing, it’s still selfish. He doesn’t want the world to continue the way it has, he wants to break the wheel. The wheel that is Sukuna. He’s sukuna’s antithesis with a mindset that exceeds that of perpetual and absolute strength. Or at least that’s how I see it.
So many people crying and seething about this. The only thing i'm upset about is not seeing their domain expansion.

I'm more impressed by some of the characters. In this anime, I have never complained that people save one person forgetting about the safety of other people (for example, Rikа star vessel), because the author prescribes conflicts very well and I like it (like the Gojo plan with 20 fingers). But don't you think it's strange that Tengen didn't want to take a new vessel 12 years ago, and now he's putting 2 magicians of a special level against the main villain of this show? What could have gone wrong? Hmm- let's read the manga

Tbh kashimo chan based on what has been establish, he can probably be a special grade however if we talk about how many fingers he is equivalent to I'd say around 15-18F. But what kashimo lacks is.
RCT, RCE, simple domain, domain amplification, and domain expansion. The RCE plays a vital role as if he were to turn off his CT he could recover using RCE and with RCT we would see the reverse technique of his CT. This is the exact same thing geto lacked although the difference is that suguru has a lpt of arsenal wheras kashimo had only 1.
But if anything kashimo should have fought a 15F megukuna or yujikuna.
Geges biggest flaw as an author is his over reliance on convoluted explanations and the overabundance of character deaths. The later of which is very uncommon for Shonen. Its why shibuya worked so well and why Cullinggame has been pretty bad imo. (Im enjoying current manga storyline but believe the g v sukuna fight to be one of the worst wastes of a character ever if this is truly the end for him
As far as getting rid of Choso instead of Yuki, that really messes up Yuji as far as blood manipulation goes and his whole character purpose. I don’t just mean in a whose going to train Yuji more advanced techniques I mean in a Yuji’s refusal to just trample over humanity or people to reach his goals. Yuji can not ethically consume the other death womb paintings without talking to Choso. If Yuji does not have that conversation with Choso about consuming them and being told that they’ll live on inside of him then that power up becomes more sinister and less mournful.

Yuki was such a wasted character especially since she was hyped up so much but then died in her first and only fight, we don't even get to learn about her research and what she's been doing
And it's mentioned she was a star plasma vessel but it's never expanded upon
I don't think kashimo was a wasted character, he was a fun character and got an amazing fight with Hakari then was used as Sukuna fodder
There wasn't anything intriguing about his character other than his mysterious curse technique and how he's going to use it against Sukuna
Yuki got done so dirty she is the strongest woman in the cast and get killed off in her very first fight in the manga. Gege is arguably worse at handling female characters than kishimoto

@@isidorodaviddoro1920 True, but I think the bad far outweighs her character's good. Ex: Her begging for Naruto to come home when she isn't fighting AT ALL. She tells Naruto she loves him without considering his feelings. She still marries Sasuke after he tries to murder her and casts an illusion of him killing her. Sakura's development/character for a majority of the series was way too dependent on other characters which I cannot say for any JJK female character.

And yes Sakura never had any big personal goal thus isn't independent.

To be fair can’t say Kashimo is wasted talent he lived his whole live as number 1 and even when he was in the land of the living said he’s waiting to use his technique on Sukana. He reincarnated and got to accomplish his goal

I alsoreally don't understand why people complain about waisted potential in JJK Gege writes life and death in the story in a way were it reflects real life and in real life death is chaotic and random not everyone gets to reach thier full potential and live a long an forfilling life and Geges writing reflects that
Yes but it's still disappointing as a viewer. Yeah "real life blah blah," but if u kill a character before we can actually see what they can do then it just ends up being disappointing. When u give me a cool character and a cool technique then I expect that character to last more then 1.5 chapters

Problem is it’s fiction, having a shocking unexpected death is great as a writing tool, when used Once or twice. But doing it all the time, gets tiresome. It leaves us not seeing the full potential of characters let alone seeing all of their cool techniques in a battle Shonen. I’m all for realism in fiction, but in anime? Let us see cool characters have some time to shine before axing them.
Realism doesn’t always make for a good story though especially when it takes away from the satisfaction of reading a story.
Like if I made a story about a dude that went to a shitty job everyday with absolutely nothing interesting happening it could be seen as “realistic” but it sure as hell wouldn’t be something fun to read.

Kashimos not rly wasted imo, hes just too cool n the fandom loves him so they hyped him alot, but he isnt rly important to the story. Yuki on the other hand spent most of her time researching how to erase curses, was researching about souls(the notes choso gave yuji), and was a former star plasma vessel, THERES LOTS OF STUFF TO EXPAND THERE, its like gege made her mysterious n add more n more stuff to make her more vital to the story n just killed her for shock factor n kenjaku CT reveal.
Is it just me or does it feel like absolutely every character now is some crazy prodigy so yuji being a “perfect vessel” and having ridiculous physical prowess doesn’t even seem to matter anymore? We see gege write so many op CT and domains and everyone is getting rct so it feels kinda cheap at this point. Idk maybe I’m trippin but early in the series it felt like the only prodigies were gojo, yuji, and megumi but now every single character has some retarded ability that seems verse breaking then they die a chapter later for plot. It’s like the end of shippuden which completely ruined Naruto for me
He didn't waste Yuki, Kashimo sure, but Yuki became quite a major character in plain sight since the beginning of jjk.

Kashimo wasn’t wasted I just feel like people expected too much. I feel like the goal gege wanted to achieve with Kashimo was well put. People just expected him to do too muc against such a big antagonist despite how little important he his too the narrative. Gege was obv just trying to give out a message with that fight more than a tough fight itself per se. I mean he’s fighting sukuna… same guy that beat gojo without going all out. What did y’all expect

Regardless I am happy Choso survived over Yuki as I just upright Choso more as a character and being support to yuji.
While it sucks Yuki didn't get more screen time I am happy Choso survived over her.

I really did hate that I still like kashimo because he is one of the strongest but heat that is stupid he died way to early. I’m no story writer but I wish Sukana had 2 or another person to fight along side sukana besides kenjaku so yuki and kashimo could’ve fought. But in general I agree yuki and kashimo should’ve had a greater piece in the story and could have fought more than they did.
You can say a character is wasted but it really comes down to the story the author wants to tell, not fleshing out the world. I think this is what people don't understand. Not every story is about flesh out characters you think should be fleshed, but the characters important to the actual plot not the world
I see what you’re saying but the Reader Response to a story is just as important as Author intent. How a reader interpreted a story may be similar or different to how an Author writes their story. If a person wants a character to be more fleshed out in a story that is a valid opinion to have regardless of whether they are important to the story or not.
@@maliksyv6056 That's cool to want that but it's still up too the author to make that decision. Who knows we could still get something. Take One Piece as an example Ace dies before we get his backstory and we get it 10+years later. Curse Energy hasn't even be fully fleshed out yet, we keep seeing new things being done with it. But I feel like if this is your complaint about the series it's valid but I don't think it's that crucial to JJK considering the death rate. I don't want JJK to be like MHA we know everything about everyone but the story itself is bare bones imo.

Bro you don’t know that his ability miricle alowed him to survive several life threatening attacks from Nanami who is far far stronger then him Sukuna could kill him easily by just attacking him with regular slash a couple of times but the fact that he has a technique that will literally alter fate to give him a miracle that could survive against an attack that even Gojo couldn’t even though he is one of the weakest in the series that goes to show how powerful his technique is just imagine if Mai had the limitless technique without the 6 eyes it might very well be less useful then construction as the amount of power necessary to use it and control would be difficult but if she had miracle it will at least be more useful if a technique then any other with her cured energy. I mean construction isn’t even that bad of an ability imagine if Mechamru had that what he could create

100% agree with this video but i felt that yuki should of had more time, imagine yuki vs sukuna or the types of ideas she could came up with after watching sukuna vs gojo, also has yuki ever interacted with gojo lastly imagine them training together to get stronger.

Yeah I highly doubt Yuki's Black hole would even hurt Sukuna because it acts similar to Yorozu's domain expansion with infinite pressure. Sukuna would counter with his own domain expansion or with Mahoraga
In the event she did use it I’m talking about the current Sukuna post Gojo fight. Think of it like she gets cut in half by Sukuna then she uses her Black Hole of his weakened form to do damage.

How are they wasted? When they made such an impact of both appearance and character because in reality, that's absolutely impressive, giving that they made us love them immediately just in a short period of time and the biggest example would be ma G Dio.
And yes, some may feel that when these characters suddenly are gone, it leaves you having to say that the author wasted these characters when, in reality, he did not.
And giving his way of telling his story and making you know from the beginning that no characters are safe means that he wasn't joking and it's your own fault for not remembering that fact.

@maliksyv6056 you're absolutely welcome, and just to clarify something is that when Gege kills the characters, he does it in a way that it's not disrespectful and what i mean is that they always die fighting and standing proud even and that is how you respect your characters and that's why i love jujutsu kaisen because it's absolutely exciting to watch and it always keeps me on the edge because its that good.
I see your reasoning. I’m just not too fond of Yuki being the only special grade who gets one fight and dies in the same fight for the story to progress. Every other special grade feels more respected than she was. Kashimo was just killed because he aimed too high.

I think the shock value that is present in the moments of these characters’ deaths were sufficient enough to warrant their lack of fulfilled narrative and character value. At least with Kashimo and Gojo’s death. Yuki’s was certainly disappointing in my opinion. Great analysis Malik!

@@Hugo_Tate he would have had to at least use it once before to know he has a CT. It says “But after completion of this Cursed Technique, Kashimo’s flesh collapses.” Kashimo probably feels his body falling apart when using his technique, so he probably never let it reach its completion before.

Nah their ATK power is equal but DEF is different because of his infinity which why I had those assigned power levels. They are just aesthetic at the end of the day tho with a bit of logic behind them.
@@maliksyv6056 sukuna clearly is above gojo in terms of attack power. The reality cutting slash is the most potent attack in the series. The fire arrow is relative to hollow purple. Jogo was able to tank a red without any damage but was burnt to nothing when he got hit by the fire arrow. Keep in mind that this was a 15 finger sukuna who shot the arrow and jogo would have resistance to fire attacks just like how kashimo has resistance to lightning attacks. The fire arrow was so powerful that it was able to negate his resistance and just burn him. Even when you consider their sure hits, gojo's sure hit is definitely more effective but sukuna's sure hit is so much more destructive as anything in its range turns do dust. Attack clearly goes to sukuna and it shouldn't even be a debate just like how gojo clearly has better defense than sukuna

Of course, I did take some liberties as you can tell. If you are familiar with Yu-Gi-Oh you'll understand that there are card effects and I'd imagine stuff like Hollow Purple or Sukuna's Space Slashing attacks would be in those card effects. I gave Gojo more Defense because of Infinity because I would imagine it's a bit complicated to translate into actual card effects. In terms of ATK power, without their Hax coming into play, they can harm each other so that's what I was saying when placing the levels at what they were. Granted the Card effects aren't listed one would assume Sukuna would have a far more broken effect than Gojo would.

I disagree tbh, I feel like they both served the purpose they were supposed to. The pacing and writing of Gege is new and refreshing and I feel like a lot of JJK’s fanbase goes into it expecting their typical shonen tropes when Gege wants to subvert your expectations and break the status quo. I think he handled both of the characters exactly how he wanted and a lot of people hyped them up. Kashimo was always fodder no matter what his ct was, he lost to Hakari. That was the fan’s fault for thinking a ct alone would give him a chance after already seeing him lose. Yuki’s potential was wasted but it was set up that way within context of the story, she dies because 1. Tengen is possibly a opp and 2. She stuck to the plan instead of improvising after seeing Kenjaku had a barrierless domain(Kenjaku himself says she should’ve used her de). Yuki had to die, she was the first special grade in the modern era and a previous Star plasma vessel. she represented the status quo within the JJK world in way with her collusion and adherence to Tengen’s plan showed a form of rigidity that both Gojo and Kenjaku wanted to break. Yuki indirectly affects a lot of the story, she gives Geto the push down his path, trains Todo who eventually trains Yuji, she saves Choso and gives Yuji the book on souls, she played her role. Neither character was ever meant to be more than they were. A lot of your points ultimately boil down to the expectations you placed upon the characters without really taking into consideration Gege’s writing, their writing isn’t always perfect and it often doesn’t leave room for character interactions but it’s hard to say that he wasted his characters.
A nice analysis. In regard to my own personal points of a character’s waste being based in my expectations isn’t all that how it is supposed to be? There’s justification for these characters being wasted as well as you saying that they served their purpose. As for breaking Shonen tropes and what not I hear this a lot of the time and I don’t think Gege is always doing something revolutionary. Hunter x Hunter has done some of the things JJK has done already. You are correct it’s a hard argument to make but as I said there is some justification for saying that they were wasted.
I actually agree. Neither of these two characters feel wasted in my mind. They were people who had a role and then were killed tragically. That isn't the same as wasting them, particularly given that the world is often shown as being far bigger then we get to see. Yuta being abroad in Africa the entire time for training, Yuki flat out didn't believe in the system the traditionalist old men had set up and was trying to find new ways to deal with the problem. She came back, handed her research over and put her life on the line, ultimately choosing to live selflessly and paying the tab. Kashimo meanwhile was always a guy with a death wish. He wanted to face the strongest and was the measuring stick of "well, this is the reality of fighting someone Gojo couldn't handle, even a really good Sharman like him doesn't have a hope of a chance." Though I am puzzled that he just went charging in alone; I guess his role was to just keep Sakuna occupied until the tag team could roll up.
Besides, I don't agree that comparing it to other works is fair. HXH has a wildly different tone between seasons and I feel it has become hamstrung by its length. The only crit is that HJK is sometimes a spartan world, but he's writing for a weekly manga for a young audience, he isn't going to waste time on the kind of stuff the fan's could imagine for themselves.

It was not wasted potential, the just aren’t top 1. The are people who we thought are strong but the fall short to sukuna and gojo because the arent transcendent like both of them.

I do think they were. Yuki's mystery and status as the first Modern Day Special Grade is a title that carries weight in-universe. She sits in a tier next to some like Yuta and Geto, so she gets hyped narratively and fan-wise. Not to mention Kenjaku questioned whether or not he could actually defeat her by himself.
Kashimo had his whole CT wanting to be used against only Sukuna and started pressing injured Sukuna whom Kenjaku thought Maki, Yuta, and Hakari would have to jump to beat. Granted this would have probably resulted in Sukuna fully Incarnating but even so Kashimo in his brief upper hand against Sukuna the story gave him some hype surrounding his full power.
