This was watched in the Peacock streaming order, we know it’s different elsewhere but it’s only for a few episodes. 🖤🖤🖤
Y'know...the episodes are available here on RUclips...
‘ Good that only a few episodes are out of order
At a certain point (not sayin’ where-no spoilers 👍) you’re gonna wanna watch it in order the rest of the way-bonus movie after the series ends
You’ll need to watch the movie to wrap things up… enjoy 😊
@@alexanderriley2979 I think youtube removed the upscale copies of the show.
The first season was a bit all over the place. The long form storytelling is later.
If memory serves, the Order they are on streaming site, is the order they wanted to release them. I remember a vague interview from the maker about having to move the order around for TV. I assume now they get to have them they way they wanted them.
I still have a crush on Claudia Black.
She rocks those black leather outfits. Nice strut as well- she really brought a lot of badass energy to her role.
(Okay, I have a crush too- let's start a support group)
Me too.I thought she was-GORGEOUS-and-SEXY !!! LOL. Lord have mercy.
Same. Since her role in the Dragon Age games.
Absolutely, she is stunning. She doesn't smile often in the series, but when she does.... 😊😊
Yep. Crush on her with Farscape and it remains. Great actress
Angela: John, you're so smart but so stupid.
Me: Welcome to Farscape.
That will be a reoccurring theme.
When my cousin and I first watched this show, and when John touched that glow we threw our hands up and said, "He got too comfortable to fast here...!"
Farscape is deliciously bonkers 😂
Haha, I robot: "you are the dumbest smart person I've ever met!"
@@vinnie666 that line lives rent free in my head. I love it so much.
"John you're so smart and so stupid" is the best and most accurate description of Crighton.
The thing I love about this show is how relatable John is as a normal human who calls the bad guys scorpions and drops pop culture references to the complete confusion of all his friends. It’s exactly what any of us would be doing.
Agreed, usually it's aliens you see having to get used to human culture, phrases etc. but in Farscape it's the other way round. John tries to get them to learn some of the phrases etc. but as they have no context for them, it usually goes over their head.
It's basically a twist on the nerdy kid who's in a room and the other people there don't know what the heck he or she is talking about.
"John, you're so smart, and SO stupid." Yeah, that about sums up Crichton. Only took you three episodes to get him as a character completely.
Farscape does a good job of bouncing between episodic and linear story telling.
This was starting to become popular in TV storytelling in this era. Outside of Soap Operas, most TV shows were produced with an eye towards syndication; selling reruns to other stations which might play them completely out of order. After Babylon 5, more shows began to embrace the idea of multi-episode plot arcs, and Farscape managed to work this into really effective season-long story arcs.
@@RothAnim The multi-episode plot arcs trend in action-adventure/sci-fi/crime TV shows actually started with the Stephen J. Cannell-produced crime drama, "Wiseguy" ("Farscape" owes a lot to Cannell's other hit show, "The A-Team"), which has an undercover FBI agent infiltrating criminal organizations. Stars Ken Wahl ("Fort Apache: The Bronx") Jonathan Banks ("Breaking Bad") and Jim Byrnes ("Highlander: The Series").
@@Madbandit77 Neat! I'd not heard of the show before, so thanks for the trivia. :)
"I'll be in my bunk" lol Firefly quote, I love it!!

@@funnylilgalreacts Firefly is so quotable. There are literally 20 minute RUclips videos of just the quotes edited together.
We just needed D'Argo to say to Matala. Take me ma'am, take me hard. 😘
Red Dwarf, actually.
@@TroyConvers5000 Ah yes, Red Dwarf! Ahh...and LEXX!
I love revisiting this series with you. I was and still am obsessed with Farscape. It doesn't get the love it deserves from the SciFi community. Thank you for reacting. Good stuff!
Are you also one of those people that rewatches Babylon 5 and Fringe? With Farscape i think they are my 3 favourite series Ever
@@CyberBeep_kenshi Fringe is a standout for me, even though I haven't watched it in years. It's a highly underrated show. My top picks for sci-fi shows I could watch repeatedly are Farscape, Roswell, and Firefly. They have a unique charm that sets them apart from the rest. A certain jenesequa if you will.
I can't wait til we get to the last episode of season 4. I hope she finishes this series with reacting to Peacekeeper Wars. That's gonna be a tear jerker.
@@MaduroMan What i love most is that the true goal of 'you know who' is only revealed in the last minutes of the entire franchise. Perhaps it was obvious to us, but not the characters. trying really hard to not give away anything:)
@@fern5580 Firefly i can't rewatch, i get sad. It was supposed to go on for so much longer. Such potential
Matala has the ability to draw out the innermost desires of people around her and amplify them.
It's an ability that runs all of the time.
Rygel stuffed his face nonstop.
Aeryn wanted to fight in single combat.
D'argo wanted to serve and protect.
Verell wanted to apply himself to his project without interruption.
John wanted sexy time from a strong woman.
Zhaan avoided Matala because she does not like others influencing her mind, so was immune from her influence.
It was an instinctual influence that Matala was using, and Zhaan fights her instincts every day. Zhaan's rejection of allowing others to influence her was amplified by Matala, causing Zhaan to be the only one who could think straight.
I would want to tell so much about Zhaan, but i also don't like to spoil, she is just so amazing character, one of the best in sci-fi alien characters ever.
"People did what they always did so she must have made them do it."
source?
You missed one:
Angela wanted to see John getting his freak on :)
A lot of sci-fi shows make the mistake of having a "everyone is acting off," episode too early before a status quo is set and the audience has gotten used to the characters. For Farscape, it's fine, though, because "everyone is off-kilter" is the status quo.
It takes a while to get there. John and Zhaan are perfectly sane for the first few episodes.
The cast were nervous to interact with the Rygel puppet because of its cost, but you'll see them start poking and prodding him and basically abusing the hell out of him shortly enough, as they realized it made Rygel feel that much more real.
and then it was a cost to high to excuse in the end. $45k per episode I think?
Claudia Black and Ben Browder were main characters in the final two seasons of Stargate SG1.
Also, Claudia Black has done loads of voice-overs for video games, due to her buttery smooth voice.
She is voice of Morrigan in Dragon Age series
I wonder how many times people are going to tell her this. Every episode probably?

Yeah, one of the cool things about this show using puppets (Rygel, Pilot, et al) means that they could create aliens that truly *looked* alien, as opposed to shows like Star Trek TNG, DS9, etc., that created new aliens by doing face prosthetics and makeup, but underneath had a very human-looking body. This really helped to give the show a very unique look. 👍
Way back in the day, my step-dad was urging me to watch this 'space show made by Jim Henson, with muppets'. I turned it down.. all I could see was 'pigs in space' going through my head. Finally, half-way through season one, I watched a few eps, and was hooked.

To D’argo getting his butt whooped, let’s beat in mind that Worf spent almost 7 seasons having his butt handed to him before he became a legendary danger.
Claudia Black is stunning! Between her and Anna Torv Australia has it going on.
Even though I was a Fringe fan, I only found out last year that Anna was Aussie and not Scandanavian. I started looking up interviews instead of screen roles and her natural voice is VERY different. Great accent work.

Not only is Claudia Black hot as the outback, she also had/has _real_ chemistry with Ben Browder, which will become apparent as the show progresses, and is very on display when they do sci-fi conventions.
Not TOO real as Ben Browder';s wife was in most episodes
They had the best chemistry, to this day they are the pair that I automatically think of when the topic of best chemistry comes up.
@@sallyshipwreck4315 most is a stretch, she played 3 different one shot characters and one recurring character in the last season.

Yep.

Fun fact: when Farscape was first airing, they didn't publicly share the episode titles, like at all. These were basically internal working titles for the episodes, which is why the episode titles vary wildly in terms of creativity and poetry and tone, while most TV episodes at least have a consistent style for their titles. (In season 2 they started showing ep titles front and center, and then they start having more thematically consistent titles.)
It was actually season three where the episode titles were shown.
You've probably noticed that all the episode titles are plays on words on film or song titles. Back and Back and Back to the Future and I, ET are pretty obvious but some take some time to work out. Just another little thing you can have fun with, with this series.
In the training scene with Aeryn and Matala, you can see the peacekeeper emblem. A red triangle which is piercing though a black mass. I find it very aggressive.
I like how John finds a confidante in Zhaan even though he has chemistry with Aeryn. The show isn't just 'will they won't they: the show'.
Zhaan is the Big Sister of the family.

I watched the episodes in the same order as you because my brother told me to do so. And I felt it was a good advice. After the fourth episode it does not matter anymore. I am glad you are doing it in this order.
There was a Farscaoe PC Computer game that most folks don''t know about, that was set in season 1, which is kinda of a sequel to this episode with the Scorvians, it takes place somewhere between episodes 17 and 19 so don't google it as it has some things that could be spoilery. It was very much a early 2000s pc game, and featured the show's cast doing all the voices
I think there's a video of Gigi Edgley playing the game on RUclips.
The game featured Scorvians because they were planned to be the big baddies originally. But by the time the game was released, the show had already reworked them into what we know as Scarrans instead.
I remember playing this a VERY long time ago, but I don't remember a thing about it now.
I like the fact that Moia's manual flight control is a Logitech trackball... 🤣
I THOUGHT it looked familiar!
Such a Frelling good show!! So happy you are watching this.
Virginia Hey, who plays Zhaan, was also "Warrior Woman" in "The Road Warrior."
John's a cat. So curious about everything.
Looks like there are a few different orders listed out there. Production order, US aired order, UK aired order. I watched this show when it originally aired. Then watched the series again when it came on Netflix... good lord, 12 years ago.
Zhaan is my 2nd favorite character of the show.
Holy crap, Cam and Vala are in this? 🤩😍
I am so happy I started watching this, just to follow Angela's reactions.
It feels like extra seasons of SG-1!
You need to do Stargate SG1. In the later seasons they brought in both Ben Browder and Claudia Black. They even did a Farscape spoof episode.
So far they match the airing date listed on IMDB, although I thought I remembered the next episode being the first one after the pilot.
One thing I would love to find online would be Crichton's notebooks. This was one of the first shows to take advantage of the internet, and after every episode, they would post a page for John's notes on the SciFi channel webpage with interesting bones material.
Zhaan put an end to the alternate future where John gets it on with the alien chick when she warned her off of pursuing him.
Me and my brother used to always say "My name is John Crichton, an *ASSHOLE*" during the opening theme... It never got old, especially when John goes and touches green space shit.
John is smart and a scientist as well, meaning he is terminally curious rather than stupid.
Pilot is voiced by Lani John Tupu (Crais) , Dominar Rygel XVI is voiced by Jonathan Hardy
Love you geeking-out! Keep it up - having fun!!
One of the very small details that I personally love about Farscape is they let the characters say incorrect things. In the pilot episode Aeryn said, "He claims to be human from a planet called Erp" and here John calls the enemy "scorpions". It just gives this show this show an off-the-cuff, unreliable flavor.
Next episode is one of my favorites. We meet a foe named Bakquesh and the aliens known as Tavleks.
This show still holds up. I binged the whole series last year. I love it when Rigel is a badass, or at least useful.
Farscape is a terrific journey , I'm enjoying a chance for a refresher
Both Farscape and FMA today is a real treat. Love your reactions.
I watched Farscape during it's original run on SciFi (back when SciFi had *good* stuff on), I was 25. Gods that was a long time ago. It's still one of my all-time favorite shows, probably top 5 somewhere, maybe top 3.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet but James Gunn (of Guardians of the Galaxy) was a huge Farscape fan and it shows in how he fleshed out the characters in the movies and the humor. Ben Browder has a cameo in GOTG 2 because Gunn was such a fan and got Browder to do it.
I love how this show twists your expectations. Because Rygel is a "muppet", we think he's going to be cute and endearing. Instead he's a selfish greedy and narcissistic dick, at least at the beginning. And yeah, this show BRINGS the weirdness.
Apparently James Gunn is a huge fan of the series, which may explain why Ben Browder shows up in Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
Hell, I have a crush on her NOW after all these years. :)
I never stopped😂
You’re going to love Chiana . She was one of my favorites
This show probably has the most entertaining episode titles.
One a week is going to be painful, but again, Farscape is a wonderful journey, you'll love it! Can't wait for you to know the quotes of this show! =D
As I'm English, I've had a crush on Claudia Black since watching her in the Australian soap " A Country Practice " which was shown on UK television back in the 1990's! :)
As an American my crush began here in Farscape but it was, besides her amazing beauty, her accent that sealed the deal. lol
Oh god, I remember that!
I thought i was grown up when i started watching this series... then i fanboyed stupid hard for Claudia and the "Radiant Aryn Sun"
Crichton can have big, dumb, friendly dog energy.
It's charming but I can see why the crew wants to choke him sometimes. 😂
He’s definitely giving off golden retriever energy
Crichton deliberately breaking the mask thing is a dick move but I think it’s him expressing his resignation that the future is inevitable and can’t be changed.
Hmm, that's an interesting interpretation. I thought he broke the mask because it had safely brought him back to that point in time more than once already, and he had decided it must have some kind of mystical / scientific power.
Before he broke the mask for the first time, the future flashes were more random. Afterward, though, he kept coming back to the moment just before the mask broke. So he breaks it deliberately one last time, just in case he fails and dies yet again. Like a checkpoint save in a video game.
@@SchrodingersTransCat or it's him exerting his will, instead of passively accepting what happens next?
That's how I always felt it was. John was giving fate the middle finger.
I watched back when it was playing for the first time on... whatever SYFY was calling themselves at the time. I know that was the year they switched from Sci-Fi channel to Sci-Fi that year, but I don't remember when that was compared to when the show started coming out. Loved watching the show when it came out and made sure to tape it. Was furious when they ended their last season on a cliff-hanger -- it will be fun to see you reaction when we get there. Heck, I'm enjoying all your reactions, so no surprise there. Anyway, I was thrilled when the DVD came out so I could watch episodes again without commercials and rewinding the tape after. Was even more so thrilled when the crew got to do a three hour min-series to wrap up not only that cliffhanger, but also a lot of what would probably have been spread out over their cancelled 5th season had they gotten to do it.
Anyway, it is certainly good getting to see someone new to the show's first reaction. Glad you're having fun with it.
This is such a fun show! Definitely one of the most underrated sci-fi shows ever, IMHO! So glad you're watching this, Angela! It just gets better and better!
Mentioning notable future character names/regular cast members/favorite episode titles is pretty spoilery. Let her react to organically discovering which characters become important/annoying/memorable and which episodes become favorites on her own. That's part of the fun!
The setup of the show was heavily influenced by an older sci-fi series called Blake's 7. It also involved a group of prisoners who got a hold of an advanced ship and made an escape into a hostile universe. They were chased by the Federation and space commander named Travis, who are totally like the Peacekeepers and Commander Caise.
D'argo's actor often talked about how his character was supposed to be a mighty warrior, but he consistently got his butt kicked. (He had a good sense of humor about it)
Classic case of Worf Syndrome. Formidable fighter whose role is being the lazy writer's way to demonstrate the threat of the week is dangerous.
Another awesome reaction, thanks. - According to the creators, this one is actually episode 5.
EXPLANATION: The Season 1 episodes were originally aired on TV in a messed up wrong order in both the UK and US. All media created after this point has always been made with the INCORRECT air dates order. This includes all DVDs and all streaming sites. Such a bummer.
This is one of my favorite episodes of the first season
I saw Farscape for the first time when a rerun was playing sometime between 12-2am, I fell in love with it after a few episodes and stayed up every night to watch the entire series for however many months it took to finish.
This series has SO held up!
There used to be a group called CBOOL = Claudia Black is Out of Our League"
Congrats on hitting 100k subs. Keep up the good work Angela!
Absolutely love this show, and I love your reactions. I've been watching you for quite a while, starting with AtLA and I never imagined you'd make it to one of my favorite sci-fi shows of all time. You're in for an incredibly wild ride.
I absolutely love you watching these, I've been meaning to rewatch it but never around to it - I still rememeber much of the episodes watching them in a bit shorter format is totally fine, watching straight away! Thank you for all your work with your videos!
Is it too much to ask to have a Farscape upload daily until the peacekeeper wars? I mean I know “life” and “time” are things that exist…but hear me out…”addiction” is another thing 🤣. Currently rewatching the whole series (twice because of these reactions) and I blame Angela for reminding me of this great series. 🤣
I think I saw the first two seasons in DVD order then started watching it weekly. My aunt introduced me to the show initially. Most sci-fi actually.
Rygel is kinda frustrating in how he flip-flops between wise Dominar and absolute toddler. But at the same time it makes perfect sense. As much as I sometimes wanted to wring his neck I still love the little goblin.
Don't worry, John and Dargo will be best buds, eventually

I wouldn't worry too much about the order. The broadcast order in the US was different than the order in Australia which is different to the DVD order. Linear doesn't have to be precise until around late season 2.
The first time I saw Farscape was when I was around 15yo and Czech TV ran out of (czech dubbed) Star Trek. I needed my new drug to continue so I found a cable channel from neighbouring Austria TV where they had Star Trek in German dubbing. I had never had a single lesson of German so I did not understand basically anything but I watched anyway. Phrases like "warp antrieb" made me think I sometimes understand 🙂. And then one day in the usual time I expected some German Star Trek I got German Farscape. I don't remember which episode but it was one of these first ones. I understood nothing because there was nothing I could recognize like in Star Trek. But the image of Farscape and the theme song stayed in my head so one day when downloading stuff from the internet became a thing I remembered to look for Farscape.
I'm curious how many of the OG fans like myself ever took a look at the Farscape website when it was active and tracked with the show? If so, does anyone remember the log entries that the "characters" wrote as extra "sauce" for some episodes?(I want to say it was mostly for seasons 3 and 4)? I only ask because there's some comedy gold I specifically remember that I'll reveal later since it could be viewed as a mild spoiler. 😜
I watched on TV as it first aired so it was in mixed order but that was largely due to them shooting 2 episodes a week for the first season so the first one ready was the first one aired. However as with most TV shows season 1 is a getting to know your grew & learn who the enemy is & it picks up as it goes so that didn't really matter.
If you like the DRDs you'd probably LOVE the scutters from "Red Dwarf".
Dargo in the early part of the season is suffering what is known as the Worf effect.
Dont worry the writers and creators will move away from that later on and youll see him be the bad ass warrior.
For reference the Worf effect is a term that comes from Star Trek.
There a character called Worf and he's the really strong bad ass warrior. So when the creators wanted to get across how deadly an alien creature is, they have it kick Worf ass.
The problem with that though, was they did it so often it got ridiculously silly. And the term the Worf effect was born.
"So smart but so stupid"
I read once that it's unreasonable to assume characters know what kind of story they're in. The example given was a quick one off DnD campaign where the DM didn't tell them what kind of story they were in, and they proceeded to do all the stereotypical wrong things.
Scorpius, someone is dropping major spoilers. Ignore that name for the time being.
Black holes, wormholes and other aspects of general relativity will play a big part in this show.
I enjoyed watching this series many years ago when I was a teenager on the sci-fi channel! I mean the Sci-fy channel!
Rigel is a former dominar with fine tastes and sticky fingers (both literally and figuratively). LOL
I am a fan of Farscape for many years and I enjoy watching your reaction.
Every time I hear Claudia Black, I can't help but hear Chloe Fraser from Uncharted, and vice-versa.
Soooo glad someone on YT is doing a serious consistent reaction for this show.
This one is very much still in the funky/finding itself phase of the show. Still, even at this point the writing is pretty sharp. The slow burn of John and D'argo's relationship and where it goes as it develops really starts here with those words of vulnerability and longing by D'argo. He is a proud person, a warrior... But he is still a mere "man". John understood how the male need for connection can lead us astray.
Man... To think of where this is going and WHO is coming as things progress... If you loved the crew of Firefly wait until this engine REALLY starts cooking.
...
...
...
Now you gotta do Star Trek TOS/TNG. 😂
One of the things mentioned in the dvd commentary is that during season 1 the producers tended to freak whenever one of the actors touched the Rygel puppet (like D'argo grabbing his eyebrows in this ep.) Apparently they only had the one, it was crazy expensive, and if it was damaged it would have totally upset the shooting schedule.
In later seasons they had backups and it wasn't as big a deal.
According to IMDB, "Throne for a Loss" is the next episode.
yup, claudia black is stunning just absolutely gorgeous
You mean ABSolutely gorgeous
I'm not sure if anyone else could have pulled off a good Zhaan portrayal. Virgina Hey is able to project such a gravitas that she can command the scene whenever she wants - even when under layers of paint and prosthetics.
I'm so happy you're watching this series! Keep at it you won't regret it.
If you've never seen the movie Pitch Black, you should. That's the first time I saw Claudia Black, but she's more known for her work here on Farscape and Stargate SG1 where she is once again paired with Ben Browler.
Haven't seen it yet in these comments, this is my first of your "Farscape" reactions to see myself, one of my all time fave series. In order would be better down the road, as others mentioned, the early episodes somewhat could stand alone, then it gets into arcs down the road (even with standalone type episodes, there are general themes that will develop driving things forward into those episodes later on).
You mentioned Scorpius, it's not really a spoiler to say Scorpius is not Scorvian, just coincidental sounding names. Zahn, I won't "spoiler" it, but... I'm glad you've taken a liking to her, her character develops quite interestingly (a simple comparison would be to Guinan from Star Trek: TNG in character and development). Looking forward to your reactions going forward!!!
Oh, and the cancellation was heartbreaking, it was literally SciFi's biggest grossing series ever at that point, but also their most expensive to make at that point, and I guess the profit, in percentages, wasn't enough for the executives to keep funding it, seems foolish to me, but it was what it was (at least it didn't get the Firefly treatment, there are years of Farscape at least to catch up with).
I remember reading an interview with one of the actors that said every time they had to put their hands on Rigel, the crew winced as they were afraid their multi million $$$$$$ muppet was going to get damaged.
Also, pay attention to John's shirt. Any episode that its a black color indicates that the episode is gonna be really dark compared to when he's wearing a light colored shirt.
Claudia Black was my first big crush growing up... still is
