Qwerty Uiop I am from Thai I am just proud of myself that if you are older than 9 years old ( grade4) You can buy your lunches at school When I was grade 1 I was so tired of eating rice all day XD
In Russia kids up to to 7 y.o go to kindergarten where they are given 5-times meal a day. Menu varies every day and is really healthy. Shool lunch: soups (we have at least 5-7 different kinds of soups), meat/fish/sausage with sides (mash potato, rice, buckwheat, macaroni etc), salad or starter and bread. Someone doesn't like school meal, but it's really healthy)
In UK, the lunchladys make lunch with vegetables, and we can bring our own packet food. But on Fridays you get chips, fish fingers, beans, and some peas, and you can choose ketchup or no ketchup. Also, you get desert
In Australia, some schools don't even have a "tuck shop" ( I assume they meant canteen). Most bring food from home and most of them are unhealthy. Usually kids have a piece of fruit, some crackers, a sandwich (which is usually vegemite, salad, jam, peanut butter, etc.), and some sugary food, although it varies. Also in most schools kids sit outside on the ground or on benches outside - we don't really have set places to eat. We have a a recess and a lunch and in some primary schools they have a "brain break" where they eat a piece of fruit. It varies depending on what school you go to, but recess usually goes for about 20 mins (it's usually longer in primary school and shorter in high school), and lunch usually goes for 40mins to an hour. By the way, I never seen someone eating corn for lunch, but it is true that often kids will have sushi, sandwiches, and fruit (albeit along with unhealthy snacks).
@Dark Ages yeah it's for children of militants but most of the time it's for Army bases because they are the bigger ones such as Fort Carson or Fort Benning
Our lunches are actually like that and we sometimes get some chicken or some pizza bread or sticky rice, the list just goes on forever! And y’know I’m Asian from Hong Kong
In Sri Lanka, we bring food from home. We get 30 mins for the interval. There are also canteens in the school but most of us bring food from our homes. It would mostly be rice and curry, sandwiches, noodles...etc. We eat in our classrooms. We eat fast and play outside (All within 30 mins) Of course i never make it. And... only primary students get to play... We somehow manage to spare a few mins to chat with each other. :) We also sometimes share our food with friends (hygienically) when we get something special like desserts. Some of us, pack some extra dessert so we can share with friends. But we don't share during the pandemic situations. In case we forgot to bring our lunch boxes we buy some food from the canteens. (but canteens are closed in the pandemic times, so we always check for our meals twice before leaving home)

I got to know in the comments that American school meals are not standard. In India even if we don't usually have school meals, home packed meal from every student tends to be like a buffet. We share a lot when we eat

Hi, Bright Side and fellow subscribers! My name is Caleb, I am 17 this year and I am a student from Singapore. Now that I am already in college, I have lunch in a place kind of like a food court where there are many stalls with many options to choose from. Food was not as luxurious as food in my canteen right now. Also, while I had only 30 minutes to eat during recess diring primary and secondary school times, I now have 1 hour for lunch and even whenever I finish my lesson before recess early, it also means early lunch every time. I am very thankful and I truly appreciate being in this school3. All of you should be thankful for the food you have in your schools too as there are many other kids in other countries who have a scarcity of food to eat. Thank you all for reading.
In Greece, where I live, we don't have lunch time at school. Just the usual breaks between classes , where you can eat, go to the yard etc. We do have canteens at universities though. Some universities will may ask for you to fill certain creteria in order to eat for free, you will have to bring some papers to show that you do have them ( usually it is a yearly budget limit) and then you will get a card telling that you are eligible to eat for free and if you don't have these criterias you will have to pay a small fee ( around 2.50 to 3€) in order to eat. From the other side, a couple of universities will allow you to eat for free,as long as you are a student. You show your student identity card when you enter the canteen and thats it. As for the food, it usually is: First course ( mostly soup), salad, bread, water and you also get to choose from 2 dishes for lunch. Sometimes we have a dessert, like chocolate creme or jelly. Most universities offer dinner as well, which goes like lunch talking about the order of the dishes. And you may find a small variety of breakfast too, but it depends on the university. 😊
Emily Manta in Greece you can eat at an university for free I never heard of that before that sounds convenient for an student who doesn’t have to pay to often
feel like every country should add rice to their school lunches because it is not only delicious but also healthy, it goes with literally everything and it makes you full without feeling heavy
My schl allow us to bring food ,or there are free food provided by govt. We also have our canteen .so we have 3options actually 4 the food of frnds included😂 .and I am aslo from India bro
I'm from India I usually love my school lunch As am from South part of india and it is a private school So the school meal is usually Rice with 2 soups to pour on Glass of butter milk Veg salad OR Roti with a side and some flavoured rice Edit : people r also allowed to take their food from home
there's a 30 minute "break-time" in my school. we can eat, take a short nap, roam around, prank our friends, play, go to the library, do homework, water the plants planted by ourselves in the school garden or do anything of our wish but leave the school premises.
Thailand has the best lunch, the most flavour. Canada offers free breakfast and morning snack daily (suggested $10 donation by parents per each child enrolled but not mandatory, just highly encouraged). The breakfasts were the same each day (muffins, toast with jam, cereal with milk, sometimes pancakes, yogurt, and oatmeal/grits), snacks rotated by day of week (crackers and cheese, broccoli and dip, granola bars, chocolate bars, and apple sauce/jello). Lactose/gluten free options.
In my school in England, we have a selection of 2 or 3 mains, a selection of veg and a selection of pudding as well as a small salad bar. My favourite main is the curry.
Same in Canada 🇨🇦But you can pay company's to get you food at school maybe once or twice a week. And at secondary there's a cafeteria and bring your lunchbox.
In my school, we get 30 minutes for lunch. We finish it in half the time and play the rest of the time. (Of course, this year school is attended virtually and also it is shorter) And why were Indian lunches not mentioned? Tell me why

The others skip their classes in the break time to go to internet cafe to play Dota, ROS, PubG, and other computer games, also other will just jump over the fence to sleep at home and lie to their parents that the class is finished. But even though our Country is full of silliness, we are still proud to be here.
Sorry for my bad English.......
Perfection...
Here is my routine at lunch break:
1. I eat my food for about 5 minute
2. Go back to school
3. Play pc for about 1 hour
4. Buy snacks like bread, donut, pizza (when I have enough), etc
Yeah, My friends to go on breaktime to play Dota, ROS, PUBG, and Crossfire.

And we get Italian food on Tuesday
And Chinese on Fridays

In Bangladesh we eat lunch in class room

It is the same in Bulgaria

Canada offers free breakfast and morning snack daily (suggested $10 donation by parents per each child enrolled but not mandatory, just highly encouraged).
