Something I like to interpret from this shot. Notice how she didn’t exactly scribble or cut out her previous parents’ faces. To me, it shows that she still loves her previous family, and yet, she also loves her new ones that filled the void in her heart after they were gone.

Probably, she was pretty active as a shrine maiden before encountering Reimu. So it’s either due to the encounter, or that it’s just how shrine maiden tend to be.

What I want to emphasize in this animation was happy and everyday family love. I uploaded it worried that I might not be able to convey this feeling to the viewers, but other people's reactions were good and well delivered. I'm going to make another theme like this one someday.

Oh wow. You started these Touhou cartoons with chaos and comedy, but you can handle the deeper feelings incredibly well.
