I think he is the only leader who talked more about character, and purity of heart, righteousness before anything and said everything good will follow just have good character. Nowdays how many of us think about our character? Our movies, songs, texts, everywhere it's breaking the righteousness infusing more exploiting, lust, greed, anger, envy, ego, pride. Ofcourse Kalam was an exceptional figure and but I believe he just got advantage of his times than his counterpart due to several reasons. His Muslim identity as he was a different Muslim than any other muslim. He was a devotee of science as well as a religious man. He had a hindu Outlook ,Hindu personality and he respected hindues and hinduism. His failure to join airforce was also a reason and several events of his times like Babri, Dawood Ibrahim, Pakistan, Gujarat, Modi and bjp led to his development. Also the middleast factor was also a cause. He was sure a good man And strong man of his times but also a man who got lot of advantage due to above mentioned factors
