@@kionicxnm There are a lot of songs like that, where the chorus sounds really anticlimactic, but grows on you nonetheless. Bleed it Out by Linkin Park, Rx Overdrive by Crossfaith, Crazy by A Skylit Drive... basically all those bands from whom you expect massive melodic choruses, but fail to deliver on that one song that is still catchy otherwise.

I actually really like the chorus, BUT, it feels like it’s a prechorus, it should’ve progressed into something way harder
yeah its like bleed it out linkin park, just sounds like its leading to something that never comes.
First listen here. I wasn’t crazy about the first chorus. But by the third chorus with the addition of the leads I knew it would probably grow on me. I enjoy when bands throw changes in their choruses so it’s not the same thing over and over again. But I feel like those differences improve it for me

It's such a slept album for 2021.
I feel like Lee has an important role in this album .. saxophone after his single "a clock without a craftsman" having a big saxophone melody and he even sings in a song in the new album. A lil different from typical BOO but we kinda expected it after the title track dropped and I LIKE it..

This was my least favorite song off the album, the rest actually very much showed growth as a band. I think I’ll pick it up.
Those synths are giving me some Bodom vibes. I feel like the chorus would have been better strummed instead of palm muted.
strummed is overused no, palmuted is more interesting
I personally loved the palm muted chorus but that's just me. It adds such a low end in comparison to the vocals. So nice.

If something has to "grow on you" that means it's not good in the first place. You just force yourself to like it based on a preconception of the band and personal bias. It was weak... Like a pre-chorus that never peaks and then runs back into the verse. This sounded like filler, fluff, album fodder... Etc.

@@kennyhouser3467 maybe for you but not everyone. Its common for me to not love anything any band puts out during first listen. It always takes a few listens for me. But if I love it at first listen then its definitely something special.

Started watching your channel and RUclips is like "Oh you like reaction vids now?" Had to tell them, nah I just like Nik showing me all the new bangers.
This has been my favorite one so far. Just the way the drums and synths interact is so hypnotic. And i love the chorus a lot, even tho it's not as explosive and energetic as a normal chorus is. Just the change in pace and the way the song flows in and out of it feels so damn juicy. The only thing this song misses is a good ass solo :(

This is why BoO is my favorite band and has been since about 2011. I know there is probably so many talents people feel extremely different about, but there’s no band I’ve listened to as much as them the last ten years. People go on and on about how tomorrow we die alive and soul sphere coming up short and I honestly disagree. I don’t think people really gave those albums a chance, this album is fairly close to those albums to be honest and this is just getting attention
Nik, We Butter The Bread With Butter dropped an absolute RIPPER called "20 km/h". It has everything: fun Germancore party riffs, heavy smashes, and SO MANY 0s!

That ending completely caught me off guard. I'm not opposed to it. I did miss the harmonics a bit, though. Those rhythms were BEEFY. I loved the drums in this song. The vocals were some good stuff.
I feel like BoOs last album was them experimenting with a more proggy style and now that they've dipped into that a bit they aren't afraid at all to do some crazy awesome stuff here in Angel or Alien. "hey lets have a totally chill vibey outro to this heavy song." "Yeah thats cool man, but we should really get a saxophone to make it extra chill." "oh, yeah for sure that'd be chill as hell lets do it."
Like that is not a conversation that would've happened pre- Simulation, ya know?

Synth melody sounds like As I lay dying confined chorus
This song is the weakest example of how good the rest of this new album really is. The rest of the material is shockingly impressive, and some of the best that they've written in YEARS. There are a lot of elements that are a big departure from what they usually give us, and they totally nailed it! They took big risks and ended up making a masterpiece. I'm craving an official video for Waves and Threat of Your Presence, and really hope it happens sometime in the future. Amazing job BOO BOIS

I got the album today and i gotta say its so good and i would go far to say its on the level of the discovery
I saw saxophone and born of Osiris clicked immediately
Something was missing from this. Sounded a bit like album fodder. Had a nice little groove but didn't really go anywhere from there. That synth feels like it was forced in at the end of the song-making process as well
The whole album kinda feels that way, it’s all still good but nothing super notable

@@matthewpunk2012 the simulation riff-wise, songwriting-wise is fantastic. But maybe the album mixing is "too tight" for my tastes. Basically, the low end feels lacking. Their newest album doesn't have that problem for me.
If that sounds unreasonable... It probably is, I won't lie. I've honestly tried to give the Simulation a fair amount of listens, but haven't been able to get into it. Not holding that against Born of Osiris, tho
