I just obtained my CCNA and have been applying for new jobs. A lot of the jobs I have applied for want experience with F5 load balancing. I have worked my entire career in Network repair and have zero experience with F5 load balancing equipment. Thank you so much for this video. Your explanation is so clear and concise. I feel confident that this is something I can tackle and I look forward to learning more about this technology now that your video has given me such a great explanation! Thank you so much for being willing to share your knowledge in this way!
very informative in a simplified manner ! kudos to you ! this piece actually sheds more light on the operations of a load balancer, thanks for the lecture
had a feeling it works to send traffic to a particular node and monitors if a node is down. I have not gotten a chance to work with the product but I'm sure if I do, I will pick it up in no time. there was a f5 load balancer at one of my jobs but my manager was in charge of it.also was used in an enviroment where there were multiple web servers. They always give it away
It depends on how you want it. You have a choice of load balancing it statically like round robin. You can also load balance traffic dynamically based on many factors. To give you an example, Load can be balanced based on the end server's capabilities. If its a high end server then more traffic can be sent there as compared to other low end servers in the same pool. Also, you have profiles to customize the behavior.
When a VIP (virtual IP) is down the service is down basically. Then you need to build an additional DC let's say to build high availability for the VIP's. It depends if if you need a local Active-Standby cluster for availability or global availability. If the pool members are down the VIP is down therefore the App is down. It's just a matter of concept. F5 offers anything that makes App more available, faster and secure ;-).
vIP (virtual server IP) is also configured in DNS to resolve the name in to web name..? client send request than that request go to dns than after the dns it goes to F5 virtual server than from F5 to webserver ,,? right ?
a SNAT is called "secure NAT" ;-). Which is basically source-NAT. So, traffic which is sent across F5 BIG-IP is forwarded to the pool members with the source IP of the vlan connected to the pool members and therefore pool members will respond to that IP. So, there is no default route needed on the pool member servers.

do public dns servers really act like that? they pass the domain name-ip address pair round-robin style?
Good work usman👍

could you please tell us how f5 load balancer treat traffic is it work based on Mac address like switching or routing?

Hi,
What happens when if my virtual IP will down.
Thanks for the explanation, hearing Round Robbins & Tactic in video reminds me of chess, are you chess player ?
Thanks Sir, very well explained. My question is what when Virtual IP will down.

Wat is snat in f5 load balancer..Can you explain
