      @@brokenlevelmusic I wind them turning the tuner to the right to tighten, so the winds go on top.

    I tried various tube amps and preamps for years. I did not like any of it. I finally figured out, tubes are just not my thing. I got the sound I was looking for with a ISP Theta and Quilter Tone Block 200. That is the core of my rig. The Quilter is insane. It will power a 1x12 to 2 4x12 cabs.
