You never know if she is the one who will be treating your parents better than you, teaching your kids better than school and loving you more than anything. Respect is the key. Also dont marry someone who has dated mindlessly before. The flashbacks of her past will ruin your marriage.

I grew up in an upper-middle-class Indian neighbourhood in the 90s. It was an open secret that 9 out of 10 husbands cheated repeatedly. Some were verbally or physically abusive too. But we rarely saw divorces, the wives had to swallow the bitter pill and look the other way. If divorce was so lucrative, why did it not occur more frequently then, or why do some women rather kill themselves instead of getting divorced. I can't help but wonder what changed from then to now.

And stop feeling morally superior to the poor; you force them to work for you for barely a living wage, and then when they drink to forget their troubles, you sneer at them. If tomorrow, all the farm labourers, all the sanitation workers and maids, all the mechanics and plumbers, all the street vendors of groceries vanished, your precious society would be on its ass.

I was cheated by my husband when pregnant, I started crying and checking things then he decided to divorce me. He tried to bring a married lady to USA and split all our assets. I didn’t get support from law because he would run away and not even pay child support. I took some steps to break his internet affair and wanted to leave after that then he started begging me not to end the marriage because of baby. When he was leaving he never cared about baby. I don’t feel like buying any assets with him anymore.

It’s a great intersection into how finance and a divorce overlap with each other. Which is why this conversation is important but there is somewhat of a bias between who can abuse and who can’t . A rich guy can only be exploited but a woman can’t experience emotional abuse, unavailability at the hands of a rich guy but she can face abuse in middle class and poor families only. It assumes that because a rich guy is educated he cannot be abusive whereas there are many such examples.Infact rich guys can be abusive because of having many options. They are higher instances of cheating their spouses.

Thats y women are being independent and they should. Both have to be financially independent individually. And so dont expect traditional wife. Help her in housework. Keep financials separate but work together for home and family. Ultimately u re marrying someone to have kids and build a family. If suspicion carries on it doesnt keep a healthy relationship. So my advise would be let your wife earn herself l dont stop her to be at home. Keep financials separate. Now a days court are considering earning women wealth while divorcing.

As a woman I'd like to highlight that feminism and constitutional laws are being misused by some of the women, Men to stay safe and alert if they get any false alarms. All women are not misusing their protective rights, there are issues where women are still suffering like work life balance in patriarchy, not having freedom of career, choice and talent, social insecurities, workplace harassment, these are still prevalent across India where true feminism is supposed to be shown.

Recently, I got married. This kind of video scares me. She makes sense, though. Personally, I think the laws protect women anyways and we men are screwed financially and emotionally if we get divorced. There's no doubt that divorce has a big impact on our lives.
I believe in manifestations. Let's not bring negative energy to a place where there is none. While it's a smart move to plan ahead and life is not always a bed of roses, a marriage is also an emotional one. If we start preparing ourselves for divorce, won't that manifest in our lives too?
But all that being said these podcasts are essential. Thanks Sharan❤

OMG such a senior advocate giving wrong information, No women cant claim 50% in a joint loan property just because her name is on the loan, She can only claim as much as she has paid for the loan, If she has paid nothing she gets nothing.
Also a women who moves to her in-laws or lives in a house bought by the husband can only claim to live in the house till divorce is finalized, That is a temporary support if she has no other place to go to(if her parents are no more and they didn't have any property she could move into and she herself doesn't have any property).

How u treat ur parents and ur kid as yours and ur ex wife as a totally different entity! U can’t exclude her genes from ur kids rt! The way u tell abt ur mom and dad are also a husband and wife relation! How u treat them as one entity and ur divorced wife after

Before driving a vehicle, we learn it, we learn courses before job but how many youngsters learn EQ, relationship skills for relationships? How many atleast read magazines, websites where it is about relationships? If they are not learning, why they are even in relationships? this is very scary in our society since ages. People who are not ready for relationships are getting into the relationships(one, if not many) and destroying each other and people who are ready for relationships emotionally are remaining single. This is an irony.
Human values are to be put higher value in relationships, or else its business. If u treat relation like a business, better dont even enter into relation and destroy other emotional partner. Relationships are only and only for emotional people, not for materialistic people.

Not everyone is the same, some people need companions after an age while it might sound cool to not marry while young, while some love kids , while other follow the culture/tradition or for religious reasons. both have ad and disadvantages:
Not marrying would make you do whatever you wish to and not have any major responsibility except those who are taking care of parents but also are lonely at later stages.
Marriage can have lots of responsibility and specially nowadays is of no use for men, but also at later stages you have good companion and children who takes care of you even if it's sometimes provided you have good children and not the bad ones who leave parents.

Women often talk about men having all the power, money, and control, oppressing women. However, it is important to note that this perception confuses a small percentage of wealthy men with the majority of men who struggle. Most men have no money, no power, no sex from their wife, and face difficulties in court battles, even losing their homes and the chance to see their children. Their lives are challenging.
    The truth is -
~When a man earns he takes the responsibilities of family. When an women earns she becomes independent.
~When a man earns he may pick a no-earning women and makes her life-partner. When a woman earns she reject a men.
~A strong man can pick broken women and make her life strong. Strong women don’t look after broken men.

Agree with her statements excepting few instances. Divorces are common in Middle class families as well in India. Secondly, it's not the Men always, it has been found that Divorces are mostly initiated by Women these days owing to a heap of choices that a woman has than Men in finding out a new Partner. Moreover, the Law is in favour of the Women which has been found out to be mis-utilised against Men in many of the cases!
