    • @brentstapleton4606
      @brentstapleton4606 10 лет назад +4

      My guess is because French and English are the two official languages of the Olympic games and with these games being held in Russia. The Russian Olympic Organizing Committe probably intentionally chose British commentators to avoid using North Americans (Canada and USA also happen to be Ice Hockey powers)

    When i watched Russia vs Slovakia and Russia won only in Overtime , after those close games they did not look so good like Canada or Sweden or even Finland and USA , Its sad that Russia stopped Growing Good Hockey players Like OVe or Malkin , I hope maybe in 5-10 years we get to see more Good Hockey players like Ovie and Malkin , and hope they change something inside the lockeroom or coaching they have to play as a team not as one or two players .

    • @lkrnpk
      @lkrnpk 8 лет назад +6

      +Skinny Man what are you smoking? Kuznetsov, Tarasenko, Panarin, Kucherov....
      The problem of Russia is not lack of talented players, it's that hockey is politics there, it is very hard to work as a coach because you have immense pressure. For example, Swedish king or Barack Obama do not personally want hockey victories from their boys, but Putin does. They take the game of hockey far too seriously, even in Soviet times it was not like that

    • @russianspy8
      @russianspy8 8 лет назад

      My point is that Canada has more talented players than Russia , i watch lots of NHL games and you can see and tell how good the players are , and NHL has alot of Canadian players are really good at defense and can pass pucks and score , there is not that much Russian in NHL like Candaians only few that you show up at the top , with points , -/+ and more and more Canadian super stars coming out , Like Connor McDavid you can tell hes going to be a real good player and hes not even 20 years old , last few years Russia did not have any good new players coming in only one Like Panarin and hes not that young 24 , but you are right on one point Russia needs to change something , they had a meeting with Putin about Russian hockey that they need more hockey rinks Canada way smaller than Russia and has like 2000+ hockey rinks ,Russia has like 300+ for Russia that big that's way to small .

    • @lkrnpk
      @lkrnpk 8 лет назад +1

      Skinny Man but it has always been like that and Swedes have the same situation with number of players and rinks, Canada is by far the biggest producer of new talents and has by far the most rinks (together with USA), but it has never been a problem for Russia and Sweden (and in past Czechs) to compete with them. Of course they need more rinks, but hockey is also not nr 1 sport in Russia, contrary to what many people think. Soccer rules there as in most of rest Europe. They firstly need to change the philosophy of how they approach the game.

    • @russianspy8
      @russianspy8 8 лет назад

      and they have to change their defense system .

    Sorry Russia but team Canada was to good and you would have had no chance ( nobody did ) if you would have met at these Olympics, that's the good news the bad, Team Canada in 2018 from the players they potentially have, will be even better then this one. So I really don't see Russia a factor again in 2018 maybe 5th or 6th.

      olegalberta1970
      Sorry that your team is not very good and showed very little at the Olympics once again. However it will be team Canada with the players we have will even be better. but hey Russia will be 5th or 6th that's pretty good. It is now known that Putin was very afraid to play Canada in Sochi He was happy they were beat out ( Russia ) and didnt want to be embarrassed once again by Canada.
