Edit: Also holy shit, Danny Green has to show up. Dude's been bricks this entire playoffs
Wow looks like the stars just aligned for the raptors even if they dont win the championship all of this are already amazing but if they do pull it off no one knows, this could be epic
The Raptors haven't even reached their full potential yet. How different would these series have been if Danny Green was actually making at least half of his shots? Or if Gasol was given more open looks from the arc? They played a lot of close games in the playoffs because they lean heavily on their defense to wear down opponents and create fast breaks for themselves off defensive rebounds. There's still the potential for them to be even better than they were in the stretch of games against Milwaukee, the best ranked defense in the league with the most regular season wins. I have watched this team since I was in middle school, rode the highs and very lows throughout their franchise history, and have come to understand the dynamics of the organization as a spectator looking in. It hasn't always been pretty, and even when things were good, there was always an air of fatalism about the team that you could never shake, especially with Lebron still in the Eastern Conference. But this year, there's been a significant shift in mentality, and while the majority of the roster has stayed intact, Ujiri made a seismic change that has restructured this team to be better versions of themselves. In previous years, they would have folded. They probably would have collapsed in the second round to Philly when they evened the series at 3-3. They certainly wouldn't have survived going down 0-2 to start the Conference Finals against the Bucks. This team has adopted Leonard's calm, quiet demeanor, and they are trusting in their ability to chip away at leads, keep control of the game pace, lock in on defensive stops, and make the smart plays on offensive possessions. Nick Nurse has been encouraging his guys to assert themselves in the game, and they have so much confidence in themselves and in each other. I think the ultimate sign that things are different was seeing Lowry and Ujiri hug as the confetti fell - they hugged like long lost brothers in that moment, and that speaks volumes to their working relationship. There's a lot of respect in that organization now, and even if they can't seal the deal against the Warriors, it's clear that all the choices that were made up to this point were worth it.

I think a lot of people in Toronto, thought Masai was off his nut, for firing Casey and getting rid or Demar Derozan. For a person that lives in Toronto, it seems like it's hard to get players to stay here, from our metric system, to our bagged milk... and just the thought of living in Canada (which is AWESOME!) It was more than a bit shocking. But clearly Masai is a bigger picture kinda guy and it's working! I'm pretty sure the Raptors are going to win the whole series. But, in the off chance that we don't, we have still won!
They didn't win a title yet and Kawhi didn't resign. So how was this a success? When they lose that means you did all this for second place. That's not a win, especially when Kawhi leaves..
28 franchises would kill to be where they are right now. It was a successful season. They are in the Finals and showed the league they are a top tier franchise. With Derozan for 4 more years they weren't making it past the second round. 1 Finals trip is better than 4 more years of Derozan choking.
Not really a no brainer. There was risk involved. Would he be healthy, heading into his last year contract he could walk, getting rid of their best player (DeRozan) that they Drafted and who LOVED it here and was loyal. Also a Draft Pick is huge.
Yes !!! I've been saying it to anybody that will listen. He was kind of a Raptors fan growing up and in the past has visited Toronto during the offseason.

The media been saying though that players in SA wouldn't say anything publicly unless Popovich ok'd it, and they were basically making fun of Kawhi for saying he didn't feel healthy enough to play. I wouldnt be happy under a dictatorship like that either. Pressure makes diamonds but once someone becomes a diamond you gotta let them shine on their own.
Enrico Goncalvis lol first I’m a Wizards fan, also the NBA doesn’t really work like that for a normal GM, it’s a business, almost all GMs except Ujiri wouldn’t make that trade bc if they kept DeMar, they would’ve been in the playoffs years to come as oppose to one year of playoffs and the rest questionable. Most would rather make money over a prolonged period of time
@@trevorknight6865 Sorry for assuming your fandom haha. You make a good point but I still kinda disagree, making the Raptors a championship franchise could possibly attract more stars and more fans in Canada. Pretty sure they would make a lot of money off merch and whatnot by winning a championship, but no one knew for sure Kawhi was gonna take them to the finals. Because Toronto is the only team north of the border here too they kinda have a monopoly on the market for now anyways. So in my opinion it is a little different but you are right NBA is a business and success over longer periods of time would usually be the smarter move. Like me for example, I live on the other side of the country but my team is the Raptors cause they the only game in Canada. Used to be the Sonics and the Grizz but they both went extinct. Ain’t gone lie I wasn’t on board with Masai’s moves but now I am
She overthinking lmao
toronto 4-0
Rachel's ifs are very funny 😂😂😂😂
Great management need to make great decisions.
someone get me a flux capacitor!
Every segment is her monologue. Someone link me to proof she actually played basketball
3:40 We got smoked in game 1 & 2? What series was Mr. Jefferson watching? Raptors were leading pretty much the whole of game 1
Good video
You never have any control over how your bets turn out toots. Learn to gamble
Yes and no. You can play the odds which do give you some level of control in knowing the most likely outcomes and making a decision.
What about Marc Gasol?????? The disrespect for this man!!
Anyone else here after the 2019 finals?
Look where we are now, 1 game away of winning it all, We The North...Let's Go Raptors!!!
Rachel is espn. She’s good
GO RAPTORS
Raptors can play a high paced game as well... It's going to be incredible match up tomorrow!
Number 2 just the best player in the east
I think a lot of people in Toronto, thought Masai was off his nut, for firing Casey and getting rid or Demar Derozan. For a person that lives in Toronto, it seems like it's hard to get players to stay here, from our metric system, to our bagged milk... and just the thought of living in Canada (which is AWESOME!) It was more than a bit shocking. But clearly Masai is a bigger picture kinda guy and it's working! I'm pretty sure the Raptors are going to win the whole series. But, in the off chance that we don't, we have still won!
So happy for KL and Ugiri. Hope he stays.
Masai is the *real* MVP.
So Jay-z is the Raptors GM???
They didn't win a title yet and Kawhi didn't resign. So how was this a success? When they lose that means you did all this for second place. That's not a win, especially when Kawhi leaves..
It’s the first time the franchise has been there. That makes it worth it.
28 franchises would kill to be where they are right now. It was a successful season. They are in the Finals and showed the league they are a top tier franchise. With Derozan for 4 more years they weren't making it past the second round. 1 Finals trip is better than 4 more years of Derozan choking.
Trading DeRozen for Kawhi........ye very risky lol.
Its a nobrainer people
Not really a no brainer.
There was risk involved. Would he be healthy, heading into his last year contract he could walk, getting rid of their best player (DeRozan) that they Drafted and who LOVED it here and was loyal. Also a Draft Pick is huge.
We the north!!!!
Masai should get KD this offseason
Yes !!!
I've been saying it to anybody that will listen. He was kind of a Raptors fan growing up and in the past has visited Toronto during the offseason.
All bullshit aside I'm so pumped to watch game tmrw.its gonna be lit.i can't wait
Kyza Yorke today
You gotta be bold.
0:52 "Didnt look greEeEEeEAAaaAAt"
That huge gamble paid off and I think the luck ran out when Aron Baynes was signed this past season
Rachel spitting facts right now
Masai is POBO not the GM.
i was hoping the bucks would go to the finals because i thought they had a better chance to knock out the warriors. So now I'm praying to god that the raptors will beat the warriors
Anthony Tinaj raptors were always the best and toughest challenge filrom day one
The video begin here 3:21
If the clippers want kawhi so bad?? Why did they not trade for him?? Why did they not say!! hey we love you your game n trade for him..take any player you want here's draft picks n get him??one team did. showed him love from day one Toronto Raptors did.. think about that ....
Well well we’ll, congratulations to world champion Toronto Raptors 🤩
how is it a huge gamble to trade an average star for a former finals mvp.... gimme a break. And betting on yourself is a FVV trademark.
Enrico Goncalvis bc Kawhi was unhappy in San Antonio, which is the last place someone would be unhappy, and also they might’ve traded their franchise star for a one year rental
@@trevorknight6865 lol salty san antonio fan huh? Even so dude he is a finals MVP I wouldnt say that is a gamble, that's a sure bet. Demar wasn't gonna take this team to the finals, I loved the guy but it is the truth. I would take a one year rental on a finals MVP any day.
PS Kawhi staying haha we can offer him the most Loonies and Toonies in the league.
Enrico Goncalvis yeah idk why he would leave Toronto
Masai Ujiri should have professional gambler in his job title lmao
Now he's a champ
All is right with the world.
I would serenade Rachel's face.
They should call the baby Game 5 Van Vleet,
Because ever since the baby was born he started balling.
It’s like she’s giving a speech before everyone can talk
One simple undeniable, undiminishable fact.....the current NBA CHAMPIONS are the Toronto Raptors.
What gamble?
Trading Derozen for Kawhi and Green is an excellent move.
