It was wicked windy at the start of the day. For sure. It’s been nice enough recently to actually get out on the lake for a few people. The warming trend isn’t making ice right now.
Thanks Mike! It was surprising we didn't have any footage of us falling down since we managed to keep our feet. We needed you in the boat to make it more exciting I think. You're a seasoned professional when it comes to taking a tumble I see according to some of your videos. Ha, ha, ha!
This was last season’s November 5th. We made it a little longer last year than this. But with this warming trend we’ve got this week and next, there might be more open water this season. I will just have to reinstall my batteries into the Crestliner. Thanks for watching and commenting! Have a great ice season if you put your boat away already.
@@rippinglipsadventures we must be having Indian summer here in Alabama. We will be in the mid 80’s this week. We need rain very badly. The ramps below pickwick dam aren’t even in the water 😢😢
@danward2490 I’m surprised they have pulled out already down there. We just got dumped 6+ inches of snow last week, so they had a tough time pulling out the docks, but guys are still launching with sand to get back up the ramps when they ice over. Last year, we didn’t have snow until after November 5th.
@@rippinglipsadventures they never pull them out. Our ramps are open year round. But Mother Nature has the water so low the boat ramps are not even in the water. To low to launch my boat. I guess you could launch a 14’ John boat but that’s about it.
@@danward2490 That stinks. We had that same predicament two years ago here with 90% of our ramps until the said the flooding of the Yellowstone River allowed us to bounce back with better water levels here. The Army Corps of Engineers really determines what we have and don't have here. They attribute it to the snowpack in the mountains of Montana for us on the Missouri River system.
Well, it sure doesn't look crowded. That's what I enjoyed about the Big Lake in the 80's. Most of the time you were on your own, especially during late fall bite. Very nice video.
Thanks for stopping by again! Yeah, it was a nice time to not have to worry about a line of boats at the launch or crowds on the water. Weather does keep some people away. Even me on days I am unprepared.
Isn’t that the truth. I really had a thought to take the surfboards out of the garage and give the old longboard a try. It would have been comparable to winter water temps at Morro Bay, California from my experiences.
I forgot how rough it was that day!

I've heard that, yeah. Wish I could have one more day for sure. @@rippinglipsadventures
One last day! Thanks for the video.
You’re welcome. Thanks for sliding into the comment section. Have a great ice season!
That looked like an awesome place i love the video editing, very creative!

Great video Randy!
Thanks, old friend! Long time, no fish!
Thanks for going one last open water time!!!

Stunned it was windy in North Dakota 😂
