I've used Amsoil signature series since new on my 2015 Santa Fe 3.3 GDI. Started using oil around 230,000kms. Previously I had been changing my oil at 15-20,000km intervals. It drives 80% highway. Since it started burning oil, I've tried different oil brands while shortening the intervals, tried 5W20, and I've tried ATF flush and Seafoam treatment. No noticeable change as the oil consumption is gradually getting worse. I'm now at 300,000kms. I have pulled the intake and cleaned the valves, ready to do it again. But I think this is an adherent engine problem with the rings, ring lands, and direct injection inject with high compression. The oil control ring is too close to the top of the piston, and gets too much heat. I feel Amsoil did a great job, but only so much it can do.
@clintupham4466 here is a good video, Fuel dilution is normal in modern engines, makes oil go bad faster, engine oil smells like gasoline ruclips.net/video/x8Ki7r4rUMc/видео.html
You found the result of 10,000 mile oil change. Expected. I prefer replacing the oil every 5000 mile or 6000 mile with good synthetic.
I've found this on my own high mileage vehicle, changed at less than 3,000 miles when I used Seafoam.
Amsoil is the best car oil! We use it on our cars!
I only use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum; affordable and excellent quality

Your oil change intervals should have been 15kms max due to fuel dilution, your oil consumption would not have happened
@@repairvehicle good to know. I hadn't considered the fuel dilution issue with the DI engine. I think it's an understudied topic.

How old is this filter?
1 year old
@@repairvehicle I wonder if the mixture is running rich. I also wonder if this engine has carbon build-up by the valves?
U have like diff vehicles in that video. Def isn’t the same car.
Wow you're really sharp
