Comedian Ryan Stiles from 'Whose Line Is it Anyway?' answers 7 Questions with Emmy

Every week I’m interviewing fascinating people in our community, nation and around the world!
The idea came from a Facebook commenter who saw a video of me and my family floating down the river in Island Park. The person said I should turn the tables and interview my dad (Nate Eaton) - so I did and the rest is history!
Ryan Stiles is an actor and comedian known for his improvisational comedy. He has appeared on the British and American versions of ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’, played Lewis Kiniski on ‘The Drew Carey Show’ and had a role on ‘Two and a Half Men.’
Ryan was recently in Idaho Falls with four other comedians for a live production of ‘Whose Live Anyway.’ I was able to catch up with him backstage and ask these questions:
How did ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’ get started?
Is it hard to make people laugh every day?
What has been your most embarrassing moment on stage?
Did you always think you would be a comedian?
How do you come up with the ideas so far in improv comedy?
Have you ever been to Idaho before this trip and tried our famous potatoes?

This interview is so adorable. It's so amusing to see two children interview each other. Jokes aside, Emmy is such a darling, and Ryan is so respectful and he's the only few people I would trust with a child besides Weird Al Yankovic

he's such an amazing interview subject. a number of the other interview subjects are like "oh wow, you're such a cute kid" which is cool, but Ryan's also in awe of her skills, but also plays off her really, really well
"How could you know them for 30 years if you're only 24?" Don't try to outsmart this kid, Ryan! She's too quick for you!

Ryan Stiles is the kind of person I would ask for advice on something I'm struggling with. I feel like he'd be very honest, compassionate and try to uplift you. Have loved him and the rest of the Drew Carey Show and Who's Line cast since I was little.

That was awesome when she told the punch line to her joke and Ryan went from polite laughter to genuinely laughing at the joke. When you can make Ryan laugh, you are doing something. Well done Emmy! Great interview.

Great interview, both lighthearted and serious. Ryan Stiles is one of my favorite comedians. He didn't dismiss Emmy as "just a kid" but answered honestly to her questions - which were good ones.

Him breaking the light with his head wasn’t embarrassing! It’s probably the greatest moment of the entire series. Extremely iconic!
How do you know it wasn't embarrassing for Ryan? I'm sure it was and I'm sure he felt silly after it.
I saw him live 2 days ago we all cheered when he came on stage you could tell how taken back by it he was. It was a solid performance by all lots of good laughs if you get the chance to see whose line live take it you won't be disappointed

He’s actually 63. Born in April 1959. He turned 63 this year (2022)
I remember when i was about 17.. i was watching my 6 other younger siblings while our mother was gone for days drinking.. low on food and no electricity they was missing her and worried but we was used to it.. to prevent my siblings worrying about her i used to play Whose Line Is It Anyway with them.. the youngest brother was about 6 and i remember his face smiling and laughing performing the scenes i come up with copying these guys.. the likes of ryan, colin, wayne, drew and the rest dont realise the impact they had on people.. they helped me keep my worst times happy as they could be in the circumstance.. they may never see this but thank you and i hope you guys get the flowers yous deserve while yous can hear it in person.. best wishes to you all !
It's a good time all around when you're interviewed by an adorable child and the viewers can't decide who is more adorable. They are both so delightful. 👍

P.s. Emmy, your Idaho potatoes ARE famous, and I grew up eating raw potatoes. Not a whole potato, but when my mom was cooking she would give me a raw slice to snack on and I loved them.
