    Awesome, Jens. I'm going to test it soon. I just took a few images with the pope shield last week and it's pretty amazing. I would have expected it to shy away insects, but surprisingly, it didn't.

    Hi,
    I want to get a diffuser. I use canon 100mm macro lens. I prefer magnetic mount. So please suggest what pope magnetic ring I should get. Also, the diffusers to go on that magnetic ring. It’s pretty confusing on their site

      Go to popeshield.com/ and scroll down, there is a link for whatsapp support. There, normally you will get all the information needed. Yes... the page is quite confusing, true:/

    Thanks for the video, and you do great work. Under your recommendation I ordered the Pope Shield, the one with the magnetic. It took a long time but it finally arrived today. I wished it had better instructions but I finally able to put it together looking at your video. Would you do a video taking macros with the Pope Shield and your approach? Thanks.

    the raynox dcr 250 magnifier is compatible for the sony 90mm f2,8 g oss? and the also the best solution?

    Thanks for your video. Can you mention the link of the Amazon page to buy the bigger magnets? Have you tried the Godox MF-12 flash system with just one flash mounted up-front on the mounting ring? If yes, did you like the results?

  • @ld8341
    @ld8341 Год назад

    The main problem with this type of lens-mounted diffuser is precisely that: they can't be used when firing the flash off-mount, which is important for many macro photographers to give texture and atmosphere.

    You can just a step down ring and screw the raynox onto the front of your lens. I use the Laowa 65mm with a raynox and attach it with a 52-43mm step down ring. That solution from Pope shield is terrible lol

    • @anotherperspective3076
      @anotherperspective3076  3 года назад

      Hm, but then you'd need another step up ring to attach the diffuserdirectly to the raynox? If the raynox is able to hold the diffuser this should also be an option

    • @ZeLoShady
      @ZeLoShady 3 года назад

      @@anotherperspective3076 You should be able to attach the diffuser between the raynox and the step down ring. The diffusing panel doesn't need to be right at the end of the lens. Most of the light comes from the larger top half.

    So if I were to buy this from scratch I'd need 1. Pope Shield Complete Set 58 mm - Model for Raynox DCR250, and 2. Pope Shield Magnetic Ring 58mm “B”, and 3. 3 Magnets for Raynox Mounting. Anything else? Sorry, their website is confounding.
    Edit: G9 with Olympus 60mm f/2.8, with and without the dcr-250 (using 46-58mm step-up ring).

  • @galanonim8137
    @galanonim8137 2 года назад +2

    The solution is easy. Dont use the plastic Raynox clamp to mount the DCR-250 lens. Take a step-down metal ring 62-49mm.

      Hey, for example "“A” Pope Shield Magnetic Diffuser Basic" (choose the diameter of your macro lens) and popeshield.com/?product=3-magnets-for-raynox-mounting&v=3a52f3c22ed6 those are the magnets (but you could also order 6 or 8mm cylindrical neodyn manget on amazon)

    • @anotherperspective3076
      @anotherperspective3076  3 года назад +1

      For me it is also not clear if the "complete" set includes the magnet setup. I'd use the normal magnet diffuser (20 euro) and buy additional magnets

    • @microfx
