This vid saved me a couple hundred bucks! The only issue i ran into was that the really small screws strip really easily. I ended up having to go to home depot, buying a 1/16 inch split point drill bit and essentially pulverized some of the screws i wasnt able to get out. Soo just be gentle with the twelve tiny screws!!

Excellent! I have a 2020 A2338 model, but I didn't like the screen replacement videos for A2338 (I had seen yours first). I followed your video instead for my replacement and it turns out everything was exactly the same for A2338 as for the model you worked on. Everything went very smoothly with zero problems. There was a "peel-off" flexible black cover for the antenna connections to the mother board on my laptop, which was the only insignificant difference. Many thanks for the best screen replacement on RUclips! Apple Store wanted $650 to fix; I bought the screen for $200 directly from La-tronics (it was an Apple screen).
I just replaced my acer screen, looking into doing this for my gf's macbook. It is waaay more complicated on the mac! Nice video though, makes me confident enough to give it a try

I have seen multiple reviews that say the webcam isn’t working. I was hoping you were going to test it but just my luck you didn’t. So did the webcam work?
If I send this to asurion, (the parent company of you break I fix, if you know what that is) will they fix it this same way and completely replace the whole screen? edit: My screen is broken the same way where the lcd panel is cracked but the glass isn't.
Amazing instructions! But there is no way I’m going to risk messing up a $3000 laptop by trying to do this myself. If anything your video has shown me that it is not very simple
well, this video has completely dissuaded me from attempting this myself. I am not technically challenged really, but there's too much spooky sensitive steps that need to be done "carefully" that I'm not messing with this. Off to the mac store it is.

And when turned on, there is a weird buzzing sound coming from the top left of the keyboard. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue?

This is a mid 2017, A1708 Model. Repair process is very similar to the 2018. Generally, repairing screens on your own voids Apples warranty. However, your warranty should be expired anyway. I’ve never had issues using the screens from the company linked below the video, so check those links out. They seem to be using refurbished Apple screens, but I have not verified for certain. They work perfectly in my experience.
Why did you not to say what size star bit is needed for the plastic hinge covers? Seem to call out everything else. Coincidently that size doesn't come in the recommended tool kit I bought. Terrible place to have to stop. Just got started. I watched this video before I bought everything but missed that missed step.
I got the charge adapter trapped when closed the lid on my 16 inch, now I will probably throw £2000 in the bin. Just to buy the screen is half of the price of the newly arrived macbook air M2. Really pisses me off

I replaced my screen but now the flex cable has to hang very loosely for the screen to work. If I screw them in, it doesn't work. Any idea why?
