@@johncut3039 oh you are so lucky. I'd still go to see elvis even if he was tired or lackluster. I wouldn't expect him to be 1950,,s fresh. He worked hard and did his best as he could. His fans stayed loyal til the end, even when he slowed down a bit. But thing about Elvis, just when you think it's the final inning, he belts it out of the ball park. That golden voice never left. Treasure those memories, because Elvis was declare artist of the twentieth ce.tury, that,s like seeing Beethoven or Mozart. He was a phenomenal to artists yes there was Dylan, Beatles, Stones, etc amazing talents, but it tells you something when Elvis made artist of past 100 years. When the other veteran musicians gone, were gonna have a shortage of classes music, except their past work. You really saw " the legend" and that is the real deal of an overused word. Good for you.

I know when Elvis did his shows he really entertained people and worked very hard. I love to watch him in movies when he would just sing. When he came back in leather and was just sitting in the chair. I thought I was going to faint. I just wanted to look at him and listen. Bob Joyce does just that. He doesn't move all over the place. He just talks and when he sings you just hear that wonderful beautiful voice. His laugh cracks me up. His singing no matter what he sings you just want to listen. I love his humor he makes you laugh. When God made him he knew what he was doing. He reminds me of a summer day at the beach. He reminds me of a Winter Christmas in the white snow. I listen to his Christmas songs every year when I decorate. He reminds me of my hometown back east. He reminds me growing up and my mom back in the 50's singing his songs. There are so many memories that reminds me of him. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful gift your voice. God bless.❤🙏👼😇😁😏❤

@@ElvisistheMan_ If it wasn't for the Colonel demanding publishing rights to many songs offered to Elvis, it would have been a different ballgame. A lot of good songs and song writers couldn't even get to Elvis because of the Colonel. Elvis even mentioned it at the MSG press conference, saying he'd live to do some good rock songs "if you can get them to me." Sounds like Elvis was totally unaware that good songs were being offered, but the Colonel was the "filter". What a waste of talent!

No one can replace mama. But tolerated for his dad,s sake. He must have got sick of women coming on to him. Why he just wanted most only as friends to talk too. Except his girlfriend s more intimate. In an odd unusual way elvis was a one woman man, maybe not in beginning because he was overwelmed by the beautiful women. But he probably tired of that part, just wanted to talk, he really did like women on platonic basis.

Go man Go! Fun clip. Elvis put in some energised and focused performances every year even when the energy was put into different types of songs. He was really into his karate in 74. There's a good video of him doing a routine to If You Talk In Your Sleep. When you think of what they missed when it came to promoting his singles. They could have filmed that professionally and shown it on TV as a promo. We'd also have something between Aloha and In Concert besides fuzzy fan footage. The Col the record company really lost the plot when it came to promoting Elvis and his music towards the end of his life even the album covers sucked.

That's the million dolar question 😆. For me, he was a prisoner of his own myth. Anything he did was going to be compared to what he had done in the 50s/early 60s. John Lennon, for example tried to escape the Beatles' myth. Elvis, on the contrary, continued to try to "live up to an image" which meant living in the past. The song you mentioned ("If you talk... ") is a great ex of how Elvis could still be a contemporary artist. What's wrong with "just" reaching the top 20? Elvis could NEVER reprise his early success like Lennon could never repeat the success of beatlemania. It should not have been the end of the world but it was for Elvis. The result was the myth that we love so much but for Elvis as a person it was not healthy

73 had been a very tough year for him, mind body and soul, 74 He thought was perhaps gonna be the start of better things to come. Despite his many painful illnessess to be able pull off an energy sapping routine like that proves that he was one hell of a performer. I also think he was purposely trying to prove his critics wrong, he could still do it, and attract crowds of thousands.

I was told Elvis detested Dee Presley not just because she married his dad but as a person. Also I think the video was just awesome. It shows he had it in him but getting him to bring it out got to be more difficult as time went on.

He had a hint of the old mojo there, but it did not measure up to 1970. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe If You Talk In Your Sleep was written by Red West. What I would be curious to see is if there is so much as a single performance out there after 1972 where he roared a song out like he did in the '68 special. I listened to one 1974 performance where he told the audience he was going to sing My Baby Left Me just like he did in the fifties, and he did exactly that for about two lines. I was amazed.

Hallo, for sure he had much energy in 1974 . He had a lot energy in 1975 too . In march, in june , in july and in december too. Also in 1976 , in march , in may , in october, November and december. I am not a fan to vs all elvis 1971-77 Music with the energy he had in 68-70 . I often Read that These Show is not thats the way ... energy , that Show is not Comeback energy , this Tour was not 69 energy . He was human . And he Show that he was human . Have a nice day .
