so when you jump into that position it’s quite impossible as the wall is moving to slowly for you to jump up into that position and then land on the other side without damaging it. Therefore the wall is moving slower than the gravity of the person to clear that position in mid air
Basically he's falling down faster and the wall is moving too slowly for him to get through it.
