I just bought one of the next ez glucose monitors, there strips and lancets are not cheap. Does anyone know a generic brand that that works on these things, someone mentioned the "True" brand at walmart but the last time my daughter picked up the onetouch verio reflect and online also said the true band fit those but on the box it only said onetouch and one touch like this one has many different style meters and they all take diff needles/strips, the only box I saw didn't look like the brand. If anyone has bought either brand could you tell me which generic brand you used and be specific. Thank you

Can one prick the right hand instead of the left one? I tried 20 pricks but can not get enough blood for Contour Next to even react to it.
Does it make a difference on the number that it gives you depending on what you choose like fasting or ate 2 hr ex?
Hi, I got one of these recently but it did not come with any of the strips or solution. Any idea why? 😞
My results with this kit fluctuate between 125 and 146 every time. It is a significant difference I have t say. I wish it was more accurate.
Hi, if I use a new lancet and strip, can I share the device with my wife? The manual suggests not, but I don’t see any reasons to prevent it. Thank you!
You can share the device but the lancet and strip should be new.
I found this: "In general, guidelines advise against squeezing the finger too hard to get a blood drop because it may distort blood sugar readings."

Is there any difference in the lancets? Why do they have various colors?
No difference in them. Just different colours for looks so its not boring. I asked my nurse the same lol
How accurate is it? My lab results said 102 and the next day I tested on this device and it’s been reading 80-90
There will always be a difference of 10/20 points, but this glucometer is one of the closest to lab results. My dad uses this.
I do hope the nurse lecturing this video has seen her Doctor about her Diverticulitis and IBS. Take care of yourself.

"The first drop of blood will have skin cells, which can interfere with your blood test. A lot of blood tests only use the plasma (liquid component of the blood), AND they test very small volumes, so if your sample has skin cells, your results could be inaccurate!"
Wouldn't the 2nd have skin cells too?

When l switched ON the meter it shows ERROR, what is the problem?

Just increase needle setting to 4 or 5
@@sara1012s There's not enough blood even with position 5 selected. And it does not even react to blood. Contour Next, I see it needs to be next placed in the garbage bin! This is an Nth time I have earned to not spend a penny on electronics and I hate cellphones too.

I am unable to draw enough blood and I made several holes already. It gave me two chances in a row and the strip is ruined. I tried Position 3, then 4 then 5. Even with Pos. 5 there is no blood! There was some blood (not enough) with Pos. 4 but with Pos. 5 NONE. I lost confidence in this kind of method of testing. There must be a better one, before "we" move to Mars... There are better things to spend money on than to moving to Mars. Let's say taking care of the trash-dumping-in-the-rivers problem around the world. And creating B/G testing technology that works for everyone... Is the testing stripe ruined once the time runs out? Should I prick the finger without inserting the strip into the unit? And if I get enough blood then put the strip in after that? Will that work? I am almost ready to return this "technology" back to the pharmacy and get my money back, if it does not work for the next several minutes, to test B/G before a meal since I need to eat.
Hola mi duda es sobre los glucometros, he probado varias marcas, y con todos me pasa que midiendo la glucosa en el mismo momento mismo dedo , y da variaciones de 10, hasta 20 ,de una medición a otra. Ahora uso , CONTOUR NEXT, tambien me paso con ACCUCHET GUIDE ¿ a que puede ser debido esto ? A ALGUIEN MAS LE HA PASADO ? esto tambien crea ansiedad de no saber, que medida es la correcta.
