@@davistrobach1484 I haven't decided if I'm going to sell this piece. I may keep it for display purposes on the table. Not sure yet. Thanks for checking it out!
Great quote "Blacksmiths don't make mistakes, they just make smaller knives." Nice recovery from the flawed seam. The Damascus pattern is beautiful. Truly a deadly work of art.
That turned out Crazy Cool! Nice work sir! I really appreciate how you take the time in editing to add the visualization of the pattern weld steps, it really helps to understand how the process works.
That was sooo much steel! Incredible to think about how much time went into this and also that a single pass with the wrong orientation could possibly mess up the whole pattern, I can see why you had to do acid 🤣 Amazing work Denis! i'm glad you're in the seperate judges competition 😁
Wow! Now that's beautiful !! With the blade curve back the other way and the tailfin and dorsal an pectal fins to suit, would be an incredible filleting knife from hell!!!... How many fisherman agree?? Make your fishing buddies jellious or what!..??
It has the length but not the flexibility of a filet knife. Plus the forward curve would be problematic. Thanks for the thought and for watching, Duke!
Thank you for adding the visual representation of the pattern during each stage of the process. I've often wondered how things look throughout these drawing out and restacking stages..great work!
This is one of the best knife designs I have ever seen... kudos on the idea and the fabrication. I can only imagine how much nicer it would have been to have the "teeth".
Ouah, c'est vraiment un régal à regarder! le résultat est impressionnant et les explications sont claires. les seuls points négatifs de cette vidéo auront été les publicités. Merci de me faire découvrir votre passion!!
You will win this challenge too Denis. You have a title to defend! Amazing work as usual brother. Its truly an honor getting to watch you do something you love.
That is fantastic, the very definition of a fantasy blade. I look fwd to seeing what the others do. The diagrams showing the pattern are really useful in understanding the process.
Tyrell, watching your videos on knife making from start to end result is truly amazing. As a practitioner of Philippine Martial Arts where blades are a integral element of this combat fighting system, one day I hope I can put in a request for a set of Parang machetes. Your blade forging for me is a thing of beauty, keep on doing what you, respect…
WOW! Absolutely stunning. The colors flow beautifully with the profile of the knife. The chatoyance of the handle finish gives the effect as though its swimming through crystal clear water in search of prey. ⚡
Looks . . . Apex! Well done yet again sir. What a spectacular representation of the spirit of your creative Avatar! This build off is likely to be an amazing event! Little eruptions of creative energy going off across the globe! Best of luck to all contestants! Be well.
That is one extraordinary, fantastic channel/logo knife to support & pay respect to the contestests challenge efforts. Beautiful work ... but more importantly, a great example to show how the 'finest' sausage is made (recovery). Thanks Denis T.
Absolutely beautiful pattern! You definitely have the vision as to material disruption to achieve a pattern. I can only imagine how many hours you have into this build. Again, beautiful! (as usual!)
Now this is a nice fantasy blade. Many "proper" smiths fail to incorporate a fantastic element or default to making a blade with "elven" decorations. This one has a fairly unique theme that makes it easy to picture it in the hands of a merfolk assassin or someone like that. The shape of the blade goes with that theme: A slim blade with a relatively fragile guard, great for gutting fish as well as sneakily slashing and stabbing in a backhanded grip, and the hilt looks like it could be utilized too in a pinch. Great job.
Beautiful smaller fantasy knife and a great making it also!! The handle looks perfect for the themed knife you was going for!!! Enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
I love how the notches in the spine mimic a sharks gills! The long upper part of the tail fin pommel and the blue colour you went for, also with the long and thin blade, really makes me associate this blade with thresher sharks.
It's so satisfying watching your Video's! In Medieval Times I'm sure you could have convinced someone that wielding that knive he get's to command the Ocean! It looks soooo awesome!
True master blade smith!! And for the fact to have shown the progress throughout the video and keep it entertaining as always. Very educational and amazing video brother. Love the shark knife
That, sir, is epic! Appreciate the journey. I'm fascinated by the reverse curve/edge knives. Like a karambit they just look menacing. Great choice on the tiger maple too, it took the blue coloring well.
That looks amazing, always so creative, that scale image from the pattern and the guard and pommel design, sorry you had that malfunction with the steel, still one of the best blades.
Amazing build!!! Is an understatement. Thank you for putting this challenge together. It’s awesome to see all these builds. Makes me want to get back in my shop and get to making something cool. Appreciate you and your details, especially the cutaway views of how you are stacking etc. it is helpful to me as I develop my own skills. Phil at PJT forge rocks!
Very cool! Huge fan of fantasy knives. I think I’m going to like this challenge. I like that even the pattern in the blade, to me, had a shark look to it.
Like always.. NICE.. I have a question.. What do you do with your cut offs & end pieces??? I asked cause a friend of mine who is also a knife maker puts his scrap Damascus cut offs and ends into a crucible to melt it (in a mud furnace/forge) and lets it cool on it's own and he then has a chunk of wootz steel.. Then just forges a knife.. No folding needed.. All the wootz knives and other things he makes has a distinctive pattern and looks so amazing...
Thanks for checking out this Shark Knife build! Any questions about it?
Can you make a shark axe?
Bro this looks amazing, I am an absolute fan of sharks, even purchased a custom shark knife once, could I possible buy this someway?
