The incredible amount of work that has gone into this diorama is simply amazing. I wouldn't even like to imagine how many hours this must have taken Tim to perfect, but it really shows how mixed media between mechanical automata and AV can produce something unique that neither could properly deliver alone. I'm similarly in awe of the Trust Nature machine which is a genuine masterpiece of engineering, the Antikythera mechanism of dioramas.
Wow Tim I've been through that nightmare. Never again. However you have brought to light a real problem that a lot of people might not be aware of especially how easy it is to accidentally pick these buggers up.
Tim, I discovered your old show recently and have been working through the first season (although I discovered it from a second season episode on fax machines). I just wanted to say that you have this Yank as a fan! You do wonderful work!
To all you hardcore Tim fans: does anyone ever recall Tim’s involvement with Pink Floyd and the paper sheep (fired from mortars on stage) designed for the “Animals” tour? Has he ever addressed this in any of his videos? A reference link would be much appreciated. Tim’s name appears on the Wikipedia page for the album and credits him for the design. Thanx
Ahh Tim! What a fan of your body of work I have been for such a long time now, I finally have the opportunity to speak (text?) to you. Unfortunately I am in the US, or I would visit every single machine you've designed and built. I finally have this opportunity to Thank you, as your work has infiltrated the way I go about things I build, or repair. Thinking out the box you have mastered and again, I am grateful. Hope your Easter was pleasant, and all is well in your world (not so much over here, but I imagine you know what has been going on in the states) God Bless and Thanks again! -Tom
Great work! Makes me wonder what still lingers in this 1978 era condo I bought... Aside from "Shittywater" (City water) with enough chlorine to make me wonder which of the three pools I get my water from... Or bedbugs... Or the leaky windows... or leaky ceiling...
Get yourself a good sediment and carbon filter. The carbon takes care of the chlorine taste, and the (cheaper) pre-filter helps it last longer. I did my whole house, but it's much cheaper just to put one at your sink.
I can just imagine Airbnb's lawyers (and guests) having sleepless nights over this one. Fantastic work, as always. I am curious as to whether you are commissioned to make these machines or you make them just because you, and many others, enjoy it.
He has been commissioned, at least in the past, to design, engineer and build pieces but also does plenty of unique machines, like this one, for his own arcade that you can visit in person. His website has a section listing and even personal ratings for the quality of his publicly installed creations. RUclips won't allow me to post a link, but the site is linked in the channel description.
I'd suggest not making this the last video you watch before going to bed at night in a hotel room /just watched this whilst staying in a hotel room. Now worried about bed bugs...argh.
Watching this video makes me feel itchy :S The style of your story telling reminds me of LittleBigPlanet on PlayStation 3, you'd make awesome stories in that! :D

I've had the idea to make such a display, but in such a way that it can fit into a trench coat so that it would seem like the wearer is flashing the folks that are engaged with the work to passersby.
Tim, thank you for this. I used to live in San Francisco but was priced out horrifically, i mean it nearly killed me actually dead! Air BnB was just at the wrong time, just at the wrong place... only the undoing of it got any real people anywhere!
TIM HUNKIN WILL NOT REPLY TO ANYONE HERE BECAUSE HE **WANTS TO BE LEFT ALONE!!** I WOULD LIKE TIM TO MAKE A **RETIREMENT VIDEO** SAYING **I HAVE DONE A LOT WITH MY VIDEOS, TAUGHT MY VIEWERS HOW TO DEAL WITH BROKEN ELECTRONICS, AND HAVE A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOUR, BUT I MUST GO INTO RETIREMENT TO ENJOY WHAT TIME I HAVE LEFT WITH MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY. What a lovely concept - the animated electromechanical cartoon strip.

...and the bugs lived happily ever after!
A wonderful fairy tale ending 😀
WOW its a MASTERPIECE, loaded with details !!!!!!
Loving the nuclear grade satire from your machines! 👍😎

Standing on street corners picking them up ......................................
Great stuff. Always enjoyed your work. Thanks!
A glorious return to machinima. I'm also now terrified.
I'm going for a hot soapy shower.
Great original work yet again. You're the best Tim!
Really Great!
All the classic elements!
So Wonderfully implemented!
Thanks for sharing!
Superb ❤️
That is awesome!
Fantastic Tim, genius work there

These machines are world class national treasures!
What a great show, loads of work went into this one! Cheers!

so true, You never know what you can find, other than the "boogie bug". 😁
Very cool!

We had bedbugs from a family trip, and getting rid of them was an exhausting and expensive effort. I still check for them under the mattresses.

Have you made any new machines lately? I understand it takes time, but your machines and content are great!
Genius. Was the festival called 'Platitude'?
Well, I'm itchy!
How did they get from lens to building 😂
Wow!!

Huh. I hadn't realized I'd subscribed to a horror channel! ;)
Amazing work, though!

Fabulous imagination
What a horror story, lol))
It indeed is! I have experienced it myself and...no thanks.
Anyone else unconsciously scratching?
Having personally dealt with bedbugs, to me this is half amusing, half upsetting, and half disgusting.
Uh, wait... ...oh, well.

😳
I don't what to think of this one:
a) you are running out of ideads
b) I am too sober to judge.
A Very Secret look at the workings (or lack thereof) of a Trump Hotel complete with Bedbugs.
Rump hotel visits suck the life and money right out of you, but you get political favors in return.
