Thank you for this video! I am finishing a Regency spencer today, and the original I am basing it off if has thread loops for the closure at the wrists. In all my 19 years of sewing I have never had to make these before, so was super happy to find your very clear and concise video!
I had not done a thread loop in many years and came to your tutorial for a refresher. When I initially learned how to do this, it was not with the doubled thread, your way is much stronge. Thanks, it is an excellent tutorial!
I agree this is the best video I saw on this topic. You explained really clearly what you were doing and what’s more it is easy to see - good lighting and contrasting thread really helps. Thanks, I was able to make the perfect little loop for a top for my granddaughter.
Thank you for this tutorial! I knew the way it should look and I had a basic idea of how it should be done but needed the specifics spelled out. By the way, Running your thread through beeswax before you start sewing helps take out all the tangling and knotting. I know if you were not having to hold both sides down for filming, you would be able to use two hands and control the tangling. Beeswax is a great help for all hand stitching.
Thank you for such a helpful tutorial! I made a sheer blouse recently and your video helped me complete it with a much more elegant way to fasten the neck than a buttonhole. Excellent and easy to follow instructions!
This turned out perfectly! Thank you so much for this video. Much better than others I'd found and looks really delicate. I think I'll be using this technique a lot!
After making the first loop, you can backstitch a couple time in place that way the size of the loop is locked in, making it easier to make the second loop be the same size!
This is great...I have always wanted to know this...it is probably easier to do using thread conditioner beforehand and using magnifying glasses...Thanks so much for this.
This is great. I need to make loops in my clothe face mask for a small plastic shell that in placed inside the mask. Makes it much easier to breathe and stops the wearer from getting the inside layer drawn into nostrils, Than you.
Wow this is amazing, my mom was making a faux sued for my doll from my froggy stuff and we had to make a loop .My mom did not know how to make one but we found this video and it helped it is so easy
Thank you ! This is what I need to finish my first project - a dress. The pattern instructions are 🤯 It looks a bit fiddly with the doubled thread. I can see myself messing that up and getting them entangled. Could I maybe just use embroidery thread instead? Or would that not be strong enough?
@@ProfessorPincushion I made it, thanks to this video. It is not as even as yours, mine is a bit knobbly looking but finally did it and finished my first project. Thank you!
There's a right way and wrong way to run thread. I think that's why she was fighting this thread, it was on the needle the wrong way. You can spot the difference by running the thread strand between your fingers. Rough = wrong. Smooth = right. Here's another, easier method to make a thread loop: ruclips.net/video/OK4ZI8CE7HY/видео.html

Yes, you could. I don't think it's as strong as regular all purpose thread and might be a little thicker but it's up to you

How would you make many of these going down on a nude mesh material?
I would just try and match the thread best I could.
@@ProfessorPincushion what if it's just one layer of nude mesh on the back of a wedding dress with those closure buttons?
