Thank you for sharing this, not gonna lie, it brought me to tears and has made me stop and really think hard about a lot of things we take for granted these days. Your journey gives a lot of us hope for ourselves, our friends and family. Thank you and stay strong dude, you got this.
Thanks for sharing. It brought me to tears. I am now 61. Started CrossFit 12 years ago. I have been in recovery for 13. CrossFit and my 12 step program are pillars in my life and recovery. Both are powerful community's. Keep doing it one day at a time. ❤
Also, right there with you, Luis. CrossFit was there with me through my recovery journey as well and I didn’t realize it at the time but it was the family & team work part of CrossFit that drew me in. Something I craved my whole life and I am grateful for every day.
Beautiful story, Luis. Thanks for sharing. And I’m glad you are helping people. Met your cute dog and it’s so awesome what you did for him. God bless you 🙏🏼 Keep it up 👍🏼
Luis! You were in my gymnastic’s cert at Iron Oak! Loved chatting with you then and love hearing your story now! You were so encouraging throughout that whole seminar/class and it had such a positive impact on me. ❤ So happy this video dropped into my inbox!
There's a really good book called Spark about exercises impact on the brain. Some of the chapters are wild, but there's a section in particular where the doctor breaks down what types of exercise are best and he essentially describes CrossFit to a t: mix of cardio and weight lifting with varied movements. Luis story reminded me of it, because overcoming addiction is one of the most profound brain changes you could ever attempt. Just incredible.

Beautiful story and very inspiring to many of us ❤
This is what CrossFit needs
Take each day at a time, each high at a time, each low at a time. That's all we can do. Estoy super orgullosa de ti. Besos, niño!
