yeah im interested in this as well, i'd love a super wide for my whoop and just experiment, i was wondering if the thread is the same as any other cameras maybe old analog ones
@@genericfpv I've looked for a 2.8 or 3.6 lens for my Walksnail Avatar Pro camera. No luck. The sensor is unusually big for a M12 camera and the lens needs to be IR blocked. Makes it very hard to find anything suitable. Next time I'll get an Avatar Micro V2 and hope its easier to find a replacement lens for it (that is less wide angle than the stock 2.1mm). If anyone is interested the lens spec for the Pro camera is as follows: M12 (thread size) For sensor format 1/1.8" IR blocked F/1.6
I replaced but something pop out (a round shape transparent film or similar). The old lens also have it(at the back of the lens), but it keep position there by glue i'm not sure. The new lens with this thing not come together, it separate. So maybe something wrong? I should find the to put it back? Until now, camera still ok without it. Dont know that thing use for...?
For any manufacturer who may be watching this - I'm hoping someone will make a rectilinear lens replacement for Walksnail cameras. "Rectilinear" (which is the kind of lens used 99% of the time in pictures and videos) would mean the horizon, for example, doesn't arc up and down as the camera is pitched up and down. That "arcing" distortion is associated with fish-eye-type lenses. WS lenses are only mildly fisheye, but again, to me, that distortion is quite noticeable.
Someone can tell me how to adjust walksnail system fov setting to be narrow?. I crack my hd pro lens, and i have old runcam 3 micro lens to replace it. But its very ultra wide until my prop can seing like a 175° fov and its little bit difficult to focus to fly because its so wide maybe. And i think its not a normal freestyle fov
This is no different for any popular camera; Runcam, Caddx, Foxeer and HDZero to mention a few. I recently replaced the lens on an HDZero camera with a Runcam lens. Just match lens thread diameter and lens focal length. As you showed, the mostly fiddly bit is re-setting the focus - I use the large image on an HD monitor rather than the goggles.
Can you use a 3D printer to print a rotating machine for polishing lenses, removing lens damage by grinding...?
Maybe, but replacing the lens is cheap and easy... Happy flying
And some more lens options on top of 2.1mm would be good: 2.8mm, 3.2mm 3.6mm.

@@stevep4131 awesome thank you very much!
I've let Walksnail know that this is something pilots are asking for.. fingers crossed!
That's great to know indeed! Thanks a bunch, Lee! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Me either, I've not had that here.. Best of luck!
good stuff thanks, do you know if the thread is the same as any other cameras? i want to try wider FOV just for fun
Not sure, others have posted some detail - see below..
Hi, I was wondering if you have found the answer? I would like to modify the FoV to narrower
That's great news. Are lenses available for all of the WS cameras?
Yes, check out the listings. Happy flying
Love the lens cap print I need that file lol

I'm letting Walksnail know that this feedback is on the video. If enough ask, it may happen... Happy flying
I wish that were available for the O3
It's things like this cheap lens replacement that make me like the Walksnail system... It makes it feel like they are not trying to rip us off...

Replacement lenses for the Walksnail units are really cheap. ruclips.net/video/-6FfkZD2v3M/видео.htmlsi=RuwncrkcaNsEIZ4J
I just did this last weekend on a quad I aggressively landed at about 70mph, left a decent scratch
Yep, that what was on this lens. Way to deep to polish out... Happy flying
Dji 03 lens is the same lens as the Djiaction 2. Well, extremely close!😆
I would pay serius money for zoom lens with autofocus, so i can use it on pan/tilt setup
