@@nc161in the first episode of HEA she states that she took care of her mother in her youth because her mother had addiction problems. That could partially be one of the reasons why she has taken on the caretaker role in her relationships. She’s still young and working through what she wants, needs, what’s best for herself, set boundaries of what to tolerate and what not to…then again we all have gone through similar stages in life as we mature emotionally.
When she said she didn't see how rude he was I was kind of thinking she just zones out and doesn't listen. She emotionally checks out when he does that and it may be the only way for his words to not hurt her. I'm not surprised it got worse when they got married bc now she's stuck with him unless she divorces him and I think he won't make it easy for her. He probably sees it as now he has her and there's nothing she can do to get out of it easily. She may also be still hoping that he'll change one day.

I admire her commitment to her marriage. It seems so many get married with the idea of I want to be a bride have my day & it will do for now until something I may like better comes along. I have been married 40 years and we had some bumpy early years that it would have been much easier and less pain in the long run to throw in the towel. Because of that hard work we are enjoying the benifits and it really paid off. Sophie is so delusional, it's ridiculous. The behavior that you accept from people, is the behavior that they will give you. Rob is an ass*ole, which doesn't make him a bad person, but that's what he is. He is giving Sophie the treatment that she feels she deserves. With a lot of the 90 day couples, one of the partners is very abusive, and the other tolerates it, because they don't really believe in their own self worth. Rob is an a**, but he has an undeservedly high opinion of himself. Sophie is actually a very beautiful and considerate woman, but she does not value herself. It's sad, really.
