Of course, this depends on the character and their personality, and is just my opinion, but I think it might help you. Just don’t let anyone discourage you, and draw what ever the hell you want.

Personally, I don’t think there’s a “right” way to draw lips, or even anything. what makes ur art unique is the flaws, or how you draw them. You could draw a straight line for lips and say it’s not “right” but nothing is right. It depends on your perspective of “right”.

I feel like you've only seen few shapes of lips or have like one lip that you think is the prettiest. Many of the lips they've drawn I have actually seen on the internet. No lip fillers, Intense cupids bow, really thicc lips, etc.

Also, that is someone’s personal picture, not the ones you find when referencing Pinterest (the ones you can actually use due to copyright reasons, etc) and even then those lips aren’t even half as exaggerated as some people draw them, in this case Angel’s method of drawing lips are more accurate according to the basic anatomy of humans.
