That reverb on the snare… 🤤🤤
Hello!
I'm agree, that sound is magnificent.
And for that observation, please let me ask you a question:
What is that effect cymbal which is above the ride cymbal?
here → 05:50
Thank you very much !
Yeah that snare sound was on point
Pascal must be one of the best current drummers, the precision with which he makes these covers is impressive.
LAURENT /ANTIBES /FRANCE
He's really good but there were a few errors in the drum solo section. That's being super knit picky though, he did like 98% of it perfectly.
But as musicians, we strive for that 100%.
@@peintredelalumierenicolebe2161 I also know the Siberian Steppe, it is undeniable that he has an impressive ability to play, but he always adds his touch, what I like about Pascal is how he manages to replicate the original smile with the maximum possible precision
He's opening the hi hat too much during the intro.
@MAXIMUSMINIMALIST do you mean he's opening it too many times? Or that overall he's holding the hi hat too loose?
I am self-taught, never had a lesson, can't read music (yet). This song is my white whale. Helluva job. The hand speed is awesome.
IMPRESSIVE!!!!!!!!!!
Exceptionally close to the original sound.
Hell yeah, go Pascal go!!
Not only do you seem to play EVERYTHING, I am amazed at how you adapt to the original drummers setup. Having things placed in different spots/angles on each cover seems really difficult, and mad respect to you!
Probably the best TS cover I've ever seen - awesome job. Having said that, Neil owns this song and no one seems to be able to play it like him.
Ich will nicht wissen wie lange pascal zum üben gebraucht hat. Einer der schwierigsten und zugleich genialsten Songs am schlagzeug auf der welt❤
The Professor would have been proud of this. Absolutely nailed every aspect.
This was pretty freaking awesome. Nice job.
You absolutely nailed it, amazing work, great sound, clean playing!
Absolutely nailed it.
You guys did it at last!!!!
Dudes jammin
He makes it look easy
Damn pascal i dont know what to say dude. My eyes closed you recreated it perfectly. 👍✌🙏
The sound!!!!!!!!! It's like listening to the record
Here’s why this is great:
- you get the cover with the track and isolated
- he plays it with such ease and low effort.
This is great for enjoyment and just practicing.
Goal for me: play this as accurately and effortlessly as I once did and he does.
Perfekt.
Love it.
Wow! Neil is widely quoted as saying that Tom Sawyer is one of his most challenging drum parts and that he rarely got it “right.” Such a perfectionist - RIP!! Great job!! The drum sound is near perfect and the mix is excellent, too. Just wow!!
He has to have quite a memory!
Absolutely phenomenal cover of one of my favorite songs for drums. I'm currently learning it, and even though I"m nowhere near your skill level (which is mesmerizing), just watching you play is incredibly inspiring!
CRISPY CLEAN BRO 🤘🤘. R.I.P. NEIL PEART 😇 R.I.P. RUSH 😇😇😇 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
That was a nearly perfect cover. Neil was always very technically skilled with his drum patterns, so it is no easy feat for many. Great work!
Crushed it
So solid. Cymbals and toms sound great.
Neil Peart, maybe my best drummer in all the times. And Pascal recreate this guy in amazing way! Congrats
Neil would be proud of that, for sure!
Aside from the awesomely talented drumming, the extra icing on the cake is how close the drum sound is to the original, IMHO. The toms tuning, snare tone, and even cymbals seem pretty close to the original (without doing an isolated side by side). This, to me, is the most accurate drum cover I’ve heard of this deceptively difficult song. I would imagine a lot of time went into reconstructing the sound for accuracy, which is an impressive feat by itself, bravo!
Freaking on Point. Awesome
Love the sound of Zildjian As 🔥🔥🔥
Pascal is the man! The Tool drum exhibition was incredible as well, amazing contributions!!
This is The Channel for official versions of drum covers. Unbelievable!
Great cover of a timeless song. RIP Neil Peart. You have all the parts nailed. The hi-hat pushes could have been a little crunchier, which could be just bringing that channel up in the mix. Just a tiny little detail. But the tone of the cymbals and the toms are amazingly spot on.
man is playing with the bead of the stick constantly lol, never heard of using the shoulder so of course his hihat chokes are weak
Pascal, you nailed it. Sound & Song, bravo 🙌🏻
Brutal!
You make me want to play my drums even though it's bedtime lol.
Excellent!
Great Performance!
Great job, awesome drum cover
RESPECT. 🍻
Amazing!! Even Neil would say how difficult Tom Sawyer was to play. Outstanding!
This is a very difficult song to play even for The Professor because it has to be played hard and fast to be played correctly. Having the correct kit and tuning is another dimension. It took a lot of hard work to get to this level and the video editing was awesome!
You very much nailed it here. Neil Peart played extremely hard and intensely, and that was part of his tone signature and the resonance he brought out of the kit. (He said during the Snakes & Arrows recording sessions that he has to play the kit as hard as he physically can to actually nail down his sound.) He never played the same setup from record to record, always changing up parts here and there to give every record its own drum sound (for the record, my favourite sound of his is from Signals - just a brutal, but beautifully musical snare and kit), but the one thing that was always the same is the intensity with which he attacked his kit to get his sound across.
@@petertromp8786 so true! His kits in the 70’s were so elaborate with gongs, 6 octave cowbells, pipes, chimes, and so much more! That was back during the days of the home Hi-Fi when people dropped thousands on speakers and audio equipment to hear the subtle nuances in the recordings! I have AirPods Pro Max headphones and they use some kind of phantom channel to create a 3D sound in modern music but it subtracts from the recordings of the 60’s - 80’s!
@@rwfrench66GenX Thanks for the reply. So you're saying audiophilia was mainstream in the 1970s? Wild man. Now people listen to brickwalled MP3's on their 100s of dollars headphones.
It doesn't surprise me that you're not getting the full benefit of those 60s-80s recordings. After all, it was just music - good music, excellently recorded, mixed and mastered - and that used to be enough.
Love to see these kids learning to play real instruments and use my generation as inspiration… very nice playing, keep it up…
I can’t WAIT for the episode on Neil Peart you guys have NO IDEA!
The best Tom Sawyer drum cover ever!!!!!!!
Nailed it. Nice work man. Very nicely done.
Excellent. Just excellent.
Great recording
Damn perfect…. Amazing…
MAN THAT WAS SICK! Neil Peart is not easy but you NEILed it. 10/10
More like 8/10, there are few things that were a bit different.
@@RigoStar for my eyes it was as perfect as you can do it, only Neil Peart could absolutely note for note play it
I've seen all of people playing the song note for note. Actually it's well known if you adventure in Rush territory you will probably need to play the parts exactly. However everyone has a different style that's for sure. What's good about this video, it's the sound. This channel is more about recreating the sound of the original drummer.@@The_KlaVra
MEAN drumming pascal.
Cool.
Nice job Pascal 🥸👌🏼
Love those high toms on the left ! Great job ! Sounds killer
Superb
Well done. 👍
This one is probably the Best Tom Sawyer drum cover that i have seen, and i have seen many
Great job!
Jesus, that snare sounds just like the record.
7:04 The good part
epic, great tone
Well, now I want to see a Nicko McBrain dedicated video aswell.
excellent
I have to admit, and I apologize in advance, the first few bars I truly thought it was the original track with Neil playing. Then I heard a tiny difference in the ride cymbal, and then I heard your toms and that’s when I realized this is a fantastic rendition played by a dedicated and talented drummer. So well played, it fooled a Peart fan who heard this song for the first time when it was released in 1981. Bravo 👏🏻
He was spot on!!
You have my respect 🫡
Nice timing good job
99% accurate, which incredible. Nice performance.
FINALLY! Mike Portnoy next?
That was amazing to watch. Great job
Well done, lil' buddy
Best cover of this song I’ve seen. Job well done. 🎉
great job, man.
His timing is incredible. VERY impressive!
Great performance. My on,y wish would be to get more of the hats and ride in the mix, because they are so fundamental to the song.
love listening to drums only. Nice job
My first two albums i ever purchased were Dio Holy Diver and Rush Fly by Night. This kid is good. Have me the chills the way i Got them listening to the original song for the very first time. Incredible
Been subscribed for over a year and have never commented but god damn on this one.
Pretty much as close as anyone could get to sound and performance. Really great, well done and thanks!
Made me smile watching this, well done
One of the best covers I have had the pleasure to listen to in a long time. Your body is relaxed and let your hands do the work. Not pounding the drums and cymbals with all your might. Well done and best of luck!
Best cover I've seen yet. The precision of your play is outstanding. Great job. BTW I really love your kit.
Excellent as usual! Great stuff.
Peart-fic!
Nice playing Pascal! And to the Art of Drumming crew; Fantastic job (as always) making things sound right!
Imagine watching this
Well performed !
Nailed the feel!!! Excellent kick and snare sound!!! Very Neil. ❤
Outstanding as always
What a joy to watch. Well done.
Great playing…damn near perfect-note for note.
Great recording and set-up…sounds as true to the original as I’ve ever heard.
Keep up the great work! Love it when I’m notified of a new post from you folks.
Greetings from outside Boston, USA.
This was awesome. Thank you so much for the drum only track. Really loved the video 🤠👍🏻
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY !!
YESSS
was i the only one who could hear the rest of the band during the drums only part? damn
👍👍👍
the snare has the most accurate sound of original album i have ever heard 🥸🥸🥸🥸
so perfect and clean!!!!!! absolutely great job!
