@Alteori I'm not sure if this applies where Chris lives (He can answer this) but most deserts especially in the US get cold and even develop ice at certain times of the year. It can even snow in deserts. I am sure they've seen ice at least one time! That being said, you guys have some weird looking foxes over there! Lol. I'm used to our red and grey foxes with bushy fur and tails over here in New England. Worst thing a fox could do to you is screech it's mating call outside your bedroom window at 3am, sounding like a lady being tortured by Satan himself. Lmfao.

Literally saved two bees this summer and last summer. They were tired , could not fly high , slowly walking on hot pavement. Sprayed some mist on flower petals , gentlely pull up the bees and leave them in the misty, watery flower petals ; few minutes later , the bees fly away with strength . Just few dehydrated bees in hot summer weather. Crazy , how hot weather effects all kind of lives.
Last year I found a bumblebee on the ground under a spider web. It looked practically dead. I put it in a container and hand fed it sugar water droplets using a GUM flossing tool. 2 days later I watched it fly away. Edit: I uploaded a short of it. You can tell how much they appreciated it because of how strongly they wanted there to be more water long after it was empty. Not to mention the one fox trying so hard to claim the "magic rock" in the name of the clan.
Thank you for what you do. Any person knows what it feels like to be stuck outdoors on a scorching hot day and what a cold drink of water feels like. We forget animals have a much harder time obtaining fresh, cool water, in both isolated and residential areas. 🙂 You're welcome! watching the video reminded me of a kindness my family did for a stranger over the weekend. He was a hitchhiker, but we found him just sitting on the side of the road in obvious pain. My cousin was driving, and asked if we should give the man a ride. I agreed that we should. He was in pain from having no food and water, and also his feet were torn up from walking. He had been on the road for thirty one days since leaving Texas, and he was hitchhiking to Oregon. He had recently called 911, because he was in so much stomach pain he thought he might be dying. The ambulance arrived about the same time we did. The paramedic checked him out, and we gave him water and potato chips: the only food we had with us. It helped him. We dropped him at the nearest restarurant along his route, and gave him money for lunch. I told him about services he might find in the next town, where my mom and my brother are both involved with the senior center. I knew they would be able to treat his injured feet and maybe find him some better fitting shoes before he continues his trip. Then my cousin and I proceeded to my mom's 85th birthday party, and apologized for arriving late. When my mom heard the story about the hitchhiker, she insisted that we try to find him on our return trip, and she sent money with us to buy him a bus ticket to Oregon. Fatefullly, we found him, only a couple miles farther down the road from where we had left him for lunch. He was in much better spirits after eating, and even better when we offered to take him to catch a bus. Getting him onto a bus was difficult, as Greyhound simply has no customer service anymore. We learned too much about Greyhound that day, including that bus tickets vary wildly in price depending on where you board. A trip from Cheyenne to Eugene is $214, while Denver to Eugene is only $85. I took our new travelmate home to spend the night at my house near Denver, got him a shower and washed his clothes. Then I used my computer to buy a ticket, and took him to catch his bus the next morning. He arrived safely in Eugene. He was going to Oregon to be with his mother, who has cancer. I don't tell the story because I want kudos. I tell the story to share how right it feels to offer help to a stranger who needs help. Human or canine. Pass it on.
Definitely a nice treat, I’m sure. I always take my filtered water and ice maker for granted until I see a squirrel or opossum desperately sniffing around for water. We’ve started leaving out a water bowl for them. They love it

Very cool. I bought a little solar fountain this summer during our hot spell and the birds loved it. When the water warmed up I would dump it and put cold water in. It was great to watch them drink and splash around.

That said, if the option is no water, or cold water…I suspect these fox would chose the latter. 😎 Further, I have two dogs, and they have been drinking cold water from the refrigerator for years….with no ill-effects.

But I’ll take that as a compliment, as most AI bots are smarter than you humans. 😂 That said, I’ve had 7 dogs over 40+ years, and in the summer, they all have gotten ice cold water from the refrigerator….with zero issues/problems. In addition, I would assume that ice water, in extreme heat, quickly warms up…..
