Damn was thinking of upgrading mine to 8000 aswell will just keep it now it still runs faultlessly. If ibwas upping the jockey wheels tooth wise from 11 - 11 maybe top 12 - 14 bottom do u think it would be a wise approach? Cheers 🥂
Hi, well if they fit on, I’d imagine you might need to lengthen the chain but it’ll reduce chain slack. So I guess in theory, it could handle a larger sprocket. Though I don’t think jockey wheels allow you to do that. Rather the derailleur design. Can’t think of any real benefits other than appearance and apparently it makes less noise? B screw will likely need to be adjusted but 12t shouldn’t be a clearance issue. Why do you want to do it?
Yo buddy Think it ticks all the boxes Current ones are a lil stretched on the teeth Have a bit of spare on the new chain also fancy getting red ones to highlight the other accents on the bike plus anything that's quieter is an added bonus along with a bit of smoother shifting I think it's my last upgrade since the bikes just about finished 🚲
I have the exact model of your rear derailleur, the issue is that the outer pulley cage is broken which I cant find any replacement, do you have any idea if shimano alivio m4000 or altus outer pulley cage can be a replacement for my deore xt outer pulley cage?
Theres one for sale on bikable for 16,99 euros. Compatibl M786. As for the M4000, looking at a diagram, it doesn’t look like you can remove the outr cage, so I guess no not possible
I just bought a used one. Thanks for the video. Informative!

False economy...you should have cleaned it while disassembled
Cleaning it is the easy part nothing false or less economical so relax
