- Richie Sambora NEVER seen footage talks about Livin’ On A Prayer and PLAYs the song UNPlugged for a rare jamming secession in Los Angeles. Richie Sambora member of the band Bon Jovi for 30 years. He s an American rock guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer, best known as the lead guitarist of the rock band Bon Jovi from 1983 to 2013. He and lead singer Jon Bon Jovi formed the main songwriting unit for the band. He has also released three solo albums: Stranger in This Town in 1991, Undiscovered Soul in 1998, and Aftermath of the Lowdown released in September 2012.
In 2018, Sambora was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Bon Jovi, and reunited with his former bandmates for a performance at the induction ceremony.[3] That year, he formed the duo RSO alongside Orianthi. After two EPs, the pair released their debut album Radio Free America in May.
Love this and Ricties attitude when he plays ❤❤❤
Much appreciated
I love watching Richie play and sing
Thanks
He was the heart and soul of the band. I know the feeling.
You are so right !
Wow amazing. The band Bon Jovi isn't the same without the talented Sambora!
Much appreciated
Bon Jovi is done 100% put a fork in them...
Amongst his peers (Mick Mars, CC Deville, Slash, etc), he could be considered just another 80's hair metal guitarist but the word that always gets thrown around about Richie is his soulful playing. Hearing him in the Q&A and you really understand where this emotional connection comes from. For this; I really set him above the rest...
Thanks great comment
Richie is a class act entertainer and human being. Watching him play is truly remarkable but even then you don’t get the real picture until you see him performing live. Getting to see him play live during the slippery and jersey tours was the best. If you want to talk about a crowd that was pumped up when they came out, there was no better experience. Seeing them perform at giants stadium was one awesome night and had to be one of Richie’s greatest nights to play in front of his hometown crowd.
Well said
Since day one I have never missed a bon Jovi show that was in Jersey never mind every other state and country #richiesambora the best #JonbonJovi not so much....LIP SYNCING JON AKA THE FAT #ELVIS.... ELVIS COME BACK AND KICK HIS ASS
Love that he is so humble & knows he's among two of the most talented players ever.. Tommy Emmanuel is one of the best in the world & the mutual respect is so evident. Loved this, thank you.
Thanks for your comment
Love this guy....his talent is amazing. When & if he chooses, he can learn & play anything, it runs deep in his soul.
Wonderful thoughts
Nothing short of amazing! So talented!
Thanks please share much appreciated
Love this version. Richie is awesome!
It was a lot of fun
amazing singer and guitarist. first time seeing this,
Thanks
Fuuck that was awesome!!
Love Richie!
Thanks for your comment
Wow..love this video. Richie still has a very strong voice and can really play that guitar and so can the other two. Loved the Q and A. You can feel how much Richie loves what he does.
Thank you so much for your comment 🙏 if you would be so kind and share on RUclips- much appreciated
Love Ritchie! Always have always will..he is the real deal..authentic guy
This was 10 years ago unfortunately so he’s not like this anymore
@@sdfsdf23232dsfsdf IMO, he continues to struggle with alcohol and it was the main reason he left the band. Bon Jovi, historically, has always done a good job of keeping personal issues out of the public eye.
Great artist and Great human Being,Let s go Richie!!😊💪✌
Appreciate your comment
This is fantastic. I’ve always been a huge Sambora fan. Love you and the music.
Much appreciated
My favorite gitarist!😄💞
He is so talented and smart and handsome guy!

Thanks yes he is
Bon Jovi ended when Richie left. A band cannot survive without its soul.
Thanks good point
They've been selling out concerts around the world ever since he left 9 years ago. Thriving, not surviving...
@@lukea136 The fans are taking what they are given.
@@lukea136 If you call thriving to inflicting strangled goat bleating sounds like JBJ is shamelessly offering ripped off, unlettered concert goers, well... that's a very sui generis definition of thriving indeed!
If Jon could still sing you lot wouldn’t be saying that. Anyway Richie is a drunk mess and can’t even keep it clean on stage so he had to go
One of the smoother voices you'll hear. Surprised he didnt have much lead singing parts in Bon Jovi
Thanks for your comment
Because Richie is only a guitar player hired by Jon, Jon is the owner of the band and he always wanted to be the lead singer of his own band
Wish they was a part 2 to this video
There might be some lingering footage from this shoot I did in 2012
Richie I Love you!😄💞

Great voice
Thanks
Wonderful, amazing! Miss Richie healthy
Thanks for that !
I was at this master class and was very lucky that just before the actual master class Tommy asked me to grab my Martin and we all played a few in the dining room of this house just off to the left of this room. Three different still fotogs captured the impromptu jam but I have yet to find any video of it even though I know it's out there somewhere. Thanks for keeping the snippets fresh!!
That’s amazing!
Wow amazing ❤️
Would love to see you live if you ever come to east coast, MA CT , NH, ME or RI
Thanks for your request
Would love to see him live in the Southeast too! GA, FL, AL, SC, NC, TN. I will go!!!
Wow !👍👍
Thanksgiving
I really like this song called living in on a pop prayer Richie we sambora still has a
Strong voice to sing with your
Friend Lorraine chambers.
Much appreciated can you share this video
I love this, I hope you have more! Particularly unseen Tommy bits?
That was a pretty cool version, Richie sang it pretty well. Was funny when he and Tommy both went the same way during the solo, zinging straight up the neck ... great minds, eh 😊💜 and he's right, Tommy is nuclear.
Yes I do I have the uncut interview as well so great BTS moments
@@shootcutdeliver wonderful, please post them soon. This must have been such a magical day for everyone involved. I've enjoyed every clip you've posted 💜
Such cool play Richard
Thanks for your thoughts
Just soulful...
Thanks
soooooo nice
Thanks
i love you richie 😍😍😍😍💋💋💋💋❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks
I loved it when he said; YOU CANT POLISH BULLSHIT!
I think that that's what many newer bands try and do today, especially with pro-tools and all the new technology that goes into recording. The music and songs as a whole lose and have lost their essence and soul!
I agree with something Jon Bon Jovi said years ago, which I'm sure Richie would echo as well, that if a song is good and has/makes an emotional connection with you, then you should never feel the same way at the end of a song as you did before you the song. And that's SO true, especially with bands and songs from late 70s and the 80s.
If a musician can't covey the emotional content of a song through their instrument even before recording it, then there's not a whole helluva lot of studio shit you'll be able to do with it to pump life into it, or that emotinal connection. You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig.
There's a reason songs from the past eras have stood the test of time bc of the emotional, or lyrical connection they've made with fans and audiences through the years.
Thank s for your comment well said
Without Richie Bon Jovi are finished as a world class rock band 101..
Thanks for your comment- please share video -much appreciated
He left almost 10 years ago. They're still selling out stadiums around the world...
@@lukea136 That's what I thought, Real fans don't care about the cast, only the final production. I personally don't care if Richie is in or it's Phil X it's Bon Jovi. Do what you can and this house is not for sale are amazing pieces of art for Richie not being apart of them
What is the essence of Bon Jovi for you then?
Keep in mind Richie gave Jon permission to play these song live with his band for hefty royalties.
Ofcause the average punter being clueless to these factors..
Now enterprise agreements have currently not been reached for these songs to be played live due to 50% licensing
Jon refused to compromise Richie's arrangements over the years trying to renegotiate Richie's song credit contract based on ego.
Fact being Richie was over the squabbling if Jon's management.
Well there have it in black and white no fairy stories being told on my watch..
I'll take 1 Ritchie Sambora please 😍😍😍💖💖💖
Thanks
This Richie and the current Richie is night and day. I hope he can get the help he needs.
Thanks for your comment
Hahaha he doesn't need any help at all. You're talking out of your ass.
You obviously don't know richie sambora.
😍🤩❤
Thanks for watching
Richie was and always will be a BETTER VOCALIST than JON BON JOVI!! After Richie left, it was all down hill for BON JOVI!!!
Thanks for your comment
Who are the other two guitarists in this video?
Tommy Emanuel, Laurence Juber, Richie Sambora
...that's Lawrence Juber from Paul McCartney and Wings
Yes u r correct
Shame the audio recording isn’t better. Richie, from what I could hear, sounds better singing Livin’ On A Prayer than Jon’s ever sounded!
We did the best we could to there sound board was very limited and we had to mix some acoustic in there as well
@@shootcutdeliverI wasn’t complaining, I promise, just a shame
I always laugh at folk that think it's a competition between musicians. Not one of them gives a shit about that. It's gotta always be able the music and how it makes you feel.
Thank you for your view
He should front Bon Jovi now that Jon's lost his voice completely.
Thanks
They don't make music like this anymore
Thank you so much
If John didn't hog the mic for over 30 years maybe he would still be able to sing.... The egotistical COCKY control freak bon Jovi is not a solo band even though John would like to think so that's why Jon is worth $400 million Richie's only worth $100
Thanks for your comment
Replace Richie as the guitar man with Phil X is like replacing a soulgiver with a technician :) so does replacing Richie the songwriter - producer with Shanks :) Bon Jovi songs full of soul with Richie colors all on them. The vocals were strong too.. Unable to change it with 4 backing vocals now (David, Hugh, Phil n the percussion)
Appreciate your view
At least Richie was there for his daughter while Jon’s daughter was busy getting busted for drugs. True. look it up. And OF course just a slap on the wrist
We all make our own decisions in life once we fly the coop...Why should Jon be blamed for that?
@@motleydude73 Being a Dad whether a rocker or not is a huge responsibility and should be taken seriously. According to sources money and fame mean more to him according to Dorothea
@@annestanaitis84 I'm sure Jon loves his kids but you can't control what they do once they reach a certain age. Jon feeds the homeless with his NJ Soup Kitchen, he is a very generous philanthropist, what his daughter does is her business.
