    Have you ever decluttered your phone? Let me know your favourite apps below. 🌙

      I had to start using a launcher (Evie free version) so I could declutter. At the moment, I only have Google Chrome, messages and a link to my work email on my home screen - but my favourite app would have to be Google Keep :) Love your videos x

    I love your videos, but I hope I can add a snippet of constructive criticism: could you wait about a second or two before stating a new point? It makes me a little anxious when you‘ve barely finished talking and are already onto the next point😅.
    But I find your videos to be calming nonetheless!
    Lots of love from Switzerland🥰

    I’ve found myself being more and more stuck on my phone recently and not enjoying it (doing it for the sake of something to do) so I’ve done a full phone digital declutter. Took things off the front screen deleted cookies and taken off notifications and unsubscribed from things. Here’s to hoping it helps. I’ve also removed the physical apps for insta and Facebook so if I want to see something I have to actively look for it rather than scrolling because it’s there

    You’re the first person to have a home screen that looks like mine! I have the podcast app in lieu of your Ecosia app. From there I have one folder for everything else on a second screen. With the screen time settings, you can actually hide apps like Safari and Health, so they don’t clutter up this folder. It doesn’t uninstall them. They just don’t show visually unless you turn them on. It’s been a game changer for me, as I can uninstall all the social media and email apps I wish, but having Safari allowed me to login to whatever I wanted. Now that it’s turned off, my screen time has dropped by half!

    I got two phones... so before any hate I do stock trading and the convenient of paying bills on apps I kept anything like those apps. My new phone for going outside my house just has phone and message for my kid. All other apps are put in folder in next screen ..
    Can I throw out to anyone to get rid of all social media apps... they’re total time sucking apps... or listen to digital minimal by Cal Newport to get more on digital minimalism..

    *Living* *poor* *and* *being* *poor* *are* *two* *totally* *different* *things* . It is all about the mindset, and I would say that a financial minimalist falls under living poor. Living poor can lead to LARGE gains. Stay wealthy my friends!

    Oh, I didn't know Ecosia have an app now - just installed it, thanks 😊 I have a very similar phone set up as you do. Only real difference is that I use the bottom bar to keep apps that inspire me to put my phone aside, which in my case are Calm and Goodreads :)

    So many apps have major security issues and eat up your phone's data and memory. I'm a huge fan of using as few apps as humanly possible. You do not need the obnoxious Facebook app, for example. For some reason, tons of people think you can't just go to to the mobile site to function. You can! :-) I also turned off all notifications except for stuff in my calendar and missed calls/messages.

    I’ve now decluttered a few unused apps and put some others in a folder out of sight. I’ve just removed those annoying widgets too. Favourite apps are RUclips, instagram and WhatsApp. I removed most notifications a while ago.

    WOW! Thank you hun! I’ve just sorted my phone! My first screen just has a pic of my beautiful cat. No apps at all! I like it. Only got 2 screens instead of 3 to scroll through. The ones you don’t use or need but can’t delete are a bit annoying. But hey ho. Thank you for this video Kaye. Very useful. Love and hugs Mo xxx

    I would also be interested in a computer/Internet declutter video and how to balance low impact on the environment and digital life (storing files in clouds help get rid of paper clutter and have a nomad life but are not environmentally friendly).

    • @yj6118
      @yj6118 4 года назад

      Nolwenn V could you elaborate on why cloud storage isn’t eco-friendly? I’d love to know more, as I’m currently purging papers and trying to move everything to cloud storage.

    • @naowenn6794
      @naowenn6794 4 года назад +1

      @@yj6118 Clouds data storage centers use a lot of energy to run the computers which also need efficient cooling systems. A small part may come from renewable energy systems, but not all. I think we should be aware of the positive side (less paper is good for forests, for example) as well as the negative side. There is no simple choice. But we can decide to minimise our digital impact by storing only the important datas online, deleting old emails, unsubscribing from newsletters, etc.

    I wanted to use the fairphone 2, but the specs are really really bad and it is expensive, so I got a normal phone.
    In terms of software though, I am a bit more minimalistic than this video and I really wanted to buy the Blloc phone that has a clean and beautiful layout, but it is so expensive....

    iPhone 5se, a photo of my beautiful house, deleted useless apps and all the other crap, never had notifications, organised apps, sound always off - I can see if someone has been looking for me and call back if nec, my phone is my (super useful and non-negotiable) tool, I am not its slave...! I have used my phone like this since my first smartphone in 2007. Never can understand why people are so cowed and used by their phones 🤷🏻‍♀️

      @@angelakneller2880 Ahhh I see, if you have an iphone you hold an app down until it starts wiggling and then i just dragged it to the right side of the screen and a new page pops up, then you can move them all one at a time over to the second page. Hope that helps x

    I don’t like having apps on my home screen. I usually have the main 4 I use there since I have to have somthing there I don’t even look at my notification tab nor widgets, my iPhone has so much space it doesn’t matter how much is on it to be honest. I have a tone of apps some in folders some not. I just scroll over find the ones I want hobbit and ignore the rest. My phone is on do not disturb setting and silent. So I don’t get bothered by it really sure I could delete a whole bunch just they aren’t really bugging me I like them there for if I decide to play that game if I have time if not eh
