1) You should give the person that bought the items some grief for not getting you the sauce packets ( you get about three choices of spice levels although the hottest one isn't really that hot) 2) The crunchy items tend to be better if you easy then right away. If they sit for any length of time they tend to soften up 😉 But I'm glad you guys seemed to enjoy most of what you had.
Yeah, two mistakes here: 1. Not asking for sauce. Just trying the sauces could have been part of the experience. 2. All of that food looked cold. Taco Bell does not travel well. You don't want to let it sit and get soggy.

Lads, literally everyone in America who goes to Taco Bell regularly has a glove box full of sauce. There were 75 packets in the parking lot outside your hotel window. Also, eat their crunchy tacos immediately or not at all.

A 3rd problem....you ALWAYS eat the hard shell tacos first. They don't last very long without getting mushy. It's like getting nachos...you gotta eat em quick before the chips go soggy on ya.
They should have started with the simple hard taco and worked their way UP to the more complex items. Also.........without sauce, even I would HATE Taco Bell. So, unfortunately the test panel was NOT eating "authentic" Taco Bell food. You definitely need to do a re-do of this Irish-people taste test.
And you have to eat the crunchy stuff fresh. If it's been sitting around for a half hour it can become a soggy mess. Doritos Locos are very good fresh, and that special sleeve they come in keeps the taco from crunching apart as you eat it.

The Try Channel seriously needs to get an advisor from each country to CHOOSE and DETERMINE the foods they try out. The people who make the selections have absolutely no f'ing idea what they are doing....and somehow seem to get it wrong frequently. The ONLY time they ever get it right is when they cannot get it wrong.....like trying a pre-packaged cookie or crisp or chocolate etc

If the Tryers ordered it and didn't get it then thats valid. It started with the Facts channel and then completely getting american biscuits and gravy wrong. I'm so confused as to why they don't consult any Americans when ordering food at these places. At iHOP they ate french toast with no toppings, dipped breakfast food in honey mustard, and now they're eating taco bell with no sauce, not knowing you can order most items with tomatoes and sour cream, being confused that they think they have mayo in these items?? and eating all the crunchy items not fresh so they're all soggy. It would also help for them to be told what are the classic/staple items at each restaurant. Or maybe get viewers to vote on some of the items to try!

They handed the producer the bags and the producer never went anywhere near the condiments counter. The server never thought to mention the existence of the condiments counter, because in their mind, who doesn't already know about it? The producer did not... being Irish. The lesson? You always need a native "fixer" to go along too.

From their comments I think most of the Tacos sat for too long causing them to 'sog-out'. Glad to see the update that includes sauces because yeah, I ALWAYS use the sauce.
If they're trying Taco Bell without sauce, they're not trying Taco Bell. It's like having people taste test American hot dogs with no mustard or ketchup or onions or chili or peppers or relish or sauerkraut.
The deal with the sauce is this: they're really good about not making the food so spicy that someone who doesn't like heat would be left out. Instead they shoot for super mild, and then let the customer season to taste with the sauce options. I think it's smart.

With 4 or 5 mexican family owned restaurants a few different family owned mexican stores and a couple mexican food trucks that would drive around the county. All their food has some good flavor but they also go easy on the spices to allow the customers choose how they want it seasoned and how spicy they wanted. Nothing beats authentic family owned and operated mexican food restaurants. Its about the only thing i miss from back home outside of my family and friends.
My high school was like 50/50 white and mexican our rival school was like 60/40 Mexican and white. I miss the days of chilling with buddies at his place on the weekends after we got out work, going and eating some homemade Tamales and drinking a Dos equis, Heinken or Corona. 😭😭
As soon as I heard a complaint about it being dry I knew something was wrong. This is a grievous oversight. Y'all there's a reason why they have a whole bunch of sauce packets. Your producer or assistants really dropped the ball on this try. They did not grab you any of the hot sauces which you simply must add to them, and secondly. Hard shell tacos must be eaten within 5 mins of purchase or they do in fact become less than desirable soggy tacos.

Guys, give them a break. I'm guessing they used a food delivery service here and ordered online... Hence the food is soggy and they didn't know about the sauces. I'd still like to see a redo sometime though! TRY: Maybe for these videos you could post on social media ahead of the shoot and ask your followers for suggestions on what/how to order? It might help cut down on some complaints, and you'll have a better experience yourselves.
They could have asked about three different natives for some. Guaranteed one of them would at least have 6 packets of mild and 2 fire sauces somewhere in their car.
MY questions is, "How did they NOT get the sauce?" Unless you specifically state you don't want sauce, they will dump in sauce, and not like, a small amount, but an amount for an order three times the size of the one they actually made.
I think it was Colin that asked if they had a taco ‘bowl’. My answer to that is there’s a TB ‘taco salad,’ which is served in a crispy fried flour tortilla bowl(ish) shaped shell in which they plop taco flavoured mince, refried beans (refritos) sourcream, shredded lettuce, grated cheese and to top it all a container of thick, mostly chopped tomato salsa, which greatly helps to up the ‘moisture’ quotient. It’s actually a very tasty well balanced dish. And if you want you can grab your ‘favourite’ sauce, such as they are, to maybe add some additional flavour. That’s about the best thing I’ve eaten at Taco Bell. It’s open tortilla faced shell with the messy shredded lettuce fringe gives the Taco Salad a good run for the money against the crispy-soft taco in the best resemblance to a certain anatomical feature of the female human body contest. The best I can say for Taco Bell is that at least they beat Del Taco, a less popular American cousin, bleh. Both are to good authentic Mexican food what Mc Donald’s is to a premium expertly crafted American hamburger.

The sauce used to come in little rectangular plastic boxes..you could get as many as you wanted..now they are the foil packs and sometimes drivethru's limit how many you can get! I used to drink them after a shot ..

Taco Bell does have it's own secret sauce, it's Taco Bell Hot Sauce, they even sell it in bottles at the store. The Fire sauce is the best! How'd you go buy tacos and not ask for any sauce packages! In america, always check if they give sauce! Just like Mcdonalds has it's own little honey mustard and other sauce packages, so does Taco Bell.
Hard shell tacos are meant to be eaten quickly, lest they absorb the meat juices and soften up. If you get your order then drive home, the experience quality drops. The tacos are meant to use sauce packets of different heat levels from mild to diablo hot (which isn't really very hot). No sauce tacos will be "dry" A chalupa is a flour taco shell that has been quick fried just long enough to hold its shape. "Supreme" means that they add sour cream and tomatoes to the normal taco fillings.
@dogoneshame typically when people talk about t-bell sauces they mean the packets of mild,hot,fire,diablo, or verde. But diablo and verde seem to be seasonal or regional.. so 4-5.. there others are not sauces in there traditional sense of taco bell. You knew exactly what I meant.. who says oh don't forget the sauce and actually means sour cream or pico or cheese sauce.. its mild fire hot or diablo.. the others are just condiments and worthless without the standard 4.. die on whatever hill you want. You add 3 or 4 packets of mild sauce to any of those and it’ll fix it right up. The mild is sweet with the slightest hint of spice but it helps bring liquid into the taco. Have to try it again or maybe just try the taco bell sauces
The next time you are all in the USA, let me know. I call a “do over” on this “try.” I will meet you and order things the correct way from the Taco Bell App (which is magic, by the way) and you can try everything WITH SAUCE as it is meant to be eaten. So, unfortunately the test panel was NOT eating "authentic" Taco Bell food. You definitely need to do a re-do of this Irish-people taste test.
And you have to eat the crunchy stuff fresh. If it's been sitting around for a half hour it can become a soggy mess.
Doritos Locos are very good fresh, and that special sleeve they come in keeps the taco from crunching apart as you eat it.

It started with the Facts channel and then completely getting american biscuits and gravy wrong. They got that so wrong that they might as well have been eating chinese food and critiquing biscuits in gravy. I think everyone watching LOVES the comedy but we DO actually want to get their authentic reactions but want the food done correctly. This doesn't require a chef but might involve emailing or skyping or whatever with someone who knows the difference. I just think it would take little effort to massively increase the viewers enjoyment...which would increase the viewing of the channel. Another suggestion would be if just before the tryers actually start eating the food....tell them something about it....so we don't get reactions like "this tastes like mushrooms an sausage" speaking of the gravy used with biscuits and gravy.....because the gravy is actually mushroom gravy with sausage grease and oftentimes bits of sausage.
tl;dr i little bit more effort would literally double the quality of the videos

At iHOP they ate french toast with no toppings, dipped breakfast food in honey mustard, and now they're eating taco bell with no sauce, not knowing you can order most items with tomatoes and sour cream, being confused that they think they have mayo in these items?? and eating all the crunchy items not fresh so they're all soggy. It would also help for them to be told what are the classic/staple items at each restaurant. Or maybe get viewers to vote on some of the items to try!

They handed the producer the bags and the producer never went anywhere near the condiments counter. The server never thought to mention the existence of the condiments counter, because in their mind, who doesn't already know about it? The producer did not... being Irish. The lesson? You always need a native "fixer" to go along too.

The deal with the sauce is this: they're really good about not making the food so spicy that someone who doesn't like heat would be left out. Instead they shoot for super mild, and then let the customer season to taste with the sauce options. I think it's smart.

With 4 or 5 mexican family owned restaurants a few different family owned mexican stores and a couple mexican food trucks that would drive around the county. All their food has some good flavor but they also go easy on the spices to allow the customers choose how they want it seasoned and how spicy they wanted. Nothing beats authentic family owned and operated mexican food restaurants. Its about the only thing i miss from back home outside of my family and friends.
My high school was like 50/50 white and mexican our rival school was like 60/40 Mexican and white. I miss the days of chilling with buddies at his place on the weekends after we got out work, going and eating some homemade Tamales and drinking a Dos equis, Heinken or Corona. 😭😭

Your producer or assistants really dropped the ball on this try. They did not grab you any of the hot sauces which you simply must add to them, and secondly. Hard shell tacos must be eaten within 5 mins of purchase or they do in fact become less than desirable soggy tacos.

They also have pico de Gallo and regular salsa but you have to ask for it when ordering.

I think it was Colin that asked if they had a taco ‘bowl’. My answer to that is there’s a TB ‘taco salad,’ which is served in a crispy fried flour tortilla bowl(ish) shaped shell in which they plop taco flavoured mince, refried beans (refritos) sourcream, shredded lettuce, grated cheese and to top it all a container of thick, mostly chopped tomato salsa, which greatly helps to up the ‘moisture’ quotient. It’s actually a very tasty well balanced dish. And if you want you can grab your ‘favourite’ sauce, such as they are, to maybe add some additional flavour.
That’s about the best thing I’ve eaten at Taco Bell. It’s open tortilla faced shell with the messy shredded lettuce fringe gives the Taco Salad a good run for the money against the crispy-soft taco in the best resemblance to a certain anatomical feature of the female human body contest.
The best I can say for Taco Bell is that at least they beat Del Taco, a less popular American cousin, bleh. Both are to good authentic Mexican food what Mc Donald’s is to a premium expertly crafted American hamburger.

I agree with other comments, I expected them to be thrown the different sauce options.
The sauce used to come in little rectangular plastic boxes..you could get as many as you wanted..now they are the foil packs and sometimes drivethru's limit how many you can get! I used to drink them after a shot ..

Taco Bell does have it's own secret sauce, it's Taco Bell Hot Sauce, they even sell it in bottles at the store. The Fire sauce is the best! How'd you go buy tacos and not ask for any sauce packages! In america, always check if they give sauce! Just like Mcdonalds has it's own little honey mustard and other sauce packages, so does Taco Bell.

Hard shell tacos are meant to be eaten quickly, lest they absorb the meat juices and soften up. If you get your order then drive home, the experience quality drops.
The tacos are meant to use sauce packets of different heat levels from mild to diablo hot (which isn't really very hot). No sauce tacos will be "dry"
A chalupa is a flour taco shell that has been quick fried just long enough to hold its shape. "Supreme" means that they add sour cream and tomatoes to the normal taco fillings.

But diablo and verde seem to be seasonal or regional.. so 4-5.. there others are not sauces in there traditional sense of taco bell. You knew exactly what I meant.. who says oh don't forget the sauce and actually means sour cream or pico or cheese sauce.. its mild fire hot or diablo.. the others are just condiments and worthless without the standard 4.. die on whatever hill you want. But if you came back withanything and without mild hot fire or diablo(preferably all 4of those and a lot). We'd have a problem

You add 3 or 4 packets of mild sauce to any of those and it’ll fix it right up. The mild is sweet with the slightest hint of spice but it helps bring liquid into the taco. Have to try it again or maybe just try the taco bell sauces

The other problem is they let the tacos sit around for a while, and once hard shell tacos get soggy they lose their luster hard. They definitely didn't do Taco Bell justice in this one (but I loved the video all the same!).

the whole reason the only one to do well was the quesoritto is its the only one that dosnt absolutely need sauce cause its got the moisture of the nacho cheese sauce atleast and a lil chipotle sauce in it by default
