the moverio bt-300 and the mavic 2(or other dji drones I suppose) is a marriage made in heaven as far as I'm concerned! I never fly without them anymore. And when I have a friend with me I use these glasses on and I give them the DJI goggles, in that way we can share the live fpv, which is sooo awesome!
vracan I’m trying to conect mine for the first time but I don’t nkow how to conect , I turn on drone but I don’t see image on the glasses in sure i will never leave those lol
This is my first time trying this RUclips Premieres thing. I wanted to give it a try and thought it would be fun to answer questions and chat in real time. Hopefully everyone will give it a chance and we can see how it goes. Thanks for tuning in!
Hey Kelly! I own the Moverio BT-300 glasses and I have to say that it's my goto tool for when I'm flying may Mavic 2 Pro. I've used these glasses at different times of the day (especially when it's bright and sunny) and the view is absolutely amazing! No more washed out screen or looking down at my cell phone while flying. Two thumbs up!
The technology I have been dreaming about is now here. Before I knew and was much attracted to drones I was looking for glasses which one can take pictures with but now with the additional love of drone flying am really much looking forward to it!!! Great innovation!!! Thumb up!!!!
I know this video is well over two years old now (May 24, 2021), but it is still very informative. I watched every Moverio model video I could find, at least once and some of them like this one twice, before making up my mind which one to buy. This is the video that tripped my trigger. I found a used set that had everything in the kit on sale by a guy with very high feedback rating for about 1/2 what a new set sells for. I can't wait to get them and put them to good use. Planning on using them to scout for and hunt feral hogs among other things. Great video!
I use the Moverios all of the time for my business and if you enjoy using them I would recommend getting the Rochester Solitaire Ace enclosures they make the experience much more enjoyable. Also you need to play with the brightness a lot to find the sweet spot for line of sight.
Hello! I am a big fan of your drone videos. I appreciate your opinions and you've become my go-to for drone education. Thank you and keep up the great work.
The BT300s or 350s are a wise investment. Now available with HDMI output. I use them for my Mavic, Spark and Evo. But the use for these glasses are many. You can watch movies from your SD card, stream Netflix Amazon Video, for example. You're looking at almost 70" inches of screen in front of your pupils.
I am using the bt-35e with my mavic 2 pro + smart controller and its awesome. What you see is like holding a sheet of paper like three feet away from your eyes and whatever direction you are looking you'll see the sheet of paper plus you will be able to look right through the paper. You can easily see everything around so no need to twist your eyes, just as easy as it can be. I bought them as the DJI Goggles doesn't fit into my comfort zone. I would rather buy those Goggles if I would have my backyard and could chill there while flying and even then I wouldn't welcome to have two pounds on my head. Moverios are plug'n'play, I am using a speedy usb-c cable to connect the adapter with my smart controller and it works awesome without a second (hdmi) cable. I have learned that I kind of needed a new way of trust in what I am doing as it is a different perspective (compared to the SC) but as it is a bit immersive it feels like I have way more control. I can see everything like if I would stay right behind my drone, which also provides a better perspective for taking pictures. Additionaly I put adhesive strips, little markers, on the original glasses (just over the screen size) so it makes my drone image less transparent. Just put the sun shader on the Moverio and no one will notice. Got it directly from Epson, they had the lowest price and if its in your budget and you don't want to use the DJI Goggles with all of their cons, go for the Moverio.
I forgot the reason why I bought them at all: If I want to fly I want to fly, I don't want to do research about what could be a new cool spot all the time. Sometimes I just want to get into my car, drive a doable distance and fly and with the Moverio its way more about flying itself. Just want to share what would had made my decision easier.
I'm sure these glasses are an amazing addition to the Mavic 2 Pro, I even ordered a set yesterday BUT, I cancelled my order today (2nd October 2019) when I discovered that the latest DJI controller shipping with the Mavic 2 Pro - the RC1B doesn't work with them! It's a little concerning that the claimed 'close relationship' between DJI and Epson has allowed this to happen. Apparently this has been a known issue for months and I've not read any encouraging news that the problem will be resolved anytime soon, if at all! Disappointed!
I really like the practicality, fit over prescription glasses, sunny day installable lens, and how it eliminates a phone or iPad. $600 is a non-starter though; I can pick up or build a couple quad's for acro including a controller for that price. I'm interested in FPV and for half the money I'd take a hard look at the DJI googles. Good review though, and many thanks.
NixPix Unlimited wow - that sucks so bad. So Epson lost all support for current and future DJI drones? So sad to hear that! How the heck did that happen!?!!!
The big question is how close is the focus for the headsup display? The DJI goggles have a very close distance. With a close distance you have to refocus a lot going between the display and your normal distance focus you want onto the drone under/around the glasses. 15:50 says "if I refocus" so how much refocus? Some cannot focus close when wearing normal distance glasses.
I've only flew my drone once don't want to damage it I just love the fact that I know I have it I would actually like to have a pair of them glasses, goggles I think they should give you a pair in ever drone package that you buy especially like these two where you can keep a line of sight on the drone at all times and on your controls at all times SWEET...
I can understand what that one gentleman was talking about. Regular goggles you could get disoriented. These will allow you to have visual reference. You aren't in a box closed off to the real world. I know that there are certain circumstances where being completely immersed in a flight is good. But most times I am out flying by myself. These would be what I would choose to use. I was under the impression that these were geared towards Droid users., that is not the case. They are currently unavailable on Amazon. Thanks for the cool tech Kelly!
Great video loved how you had other people try them and give their honest opinion on them. Looking forward to seeing you and everyone else at spinup. I hope I win the Mavic or these.
That is really great, the glasses make it easier to do FPV without a spotter and using your phone. However, it would be even more advantageous if the glasses were compatible to all quads not just proprietary to DJI, for the price to acquire a pair.
Hi I'm new to drone flying. I'm interested in getting the glasses. I have the Mavic Air. I want to know do u have to purchase the mount separately or does it comes with the glasses?
I was getting ready to buy the DJI Racing Edition, then saw info on these Epson Moverio BT-300. It really intrigues me, but I'm afraid it would make be a bit air-sick. I don't like to have too many objects overlapping in my sight. I used to have eyeglasses that were very reflective. When I'd drive at night, I'd get reflections from headlights on other parts of the road. That drove me nuts. Did you experience anything like that? Or, do you think there is potential for that feeling with people who are susceptible to it? Speaking of my glasses, can these adjust for my nearsighted vision? At least with the DJI RE Goggles, I know I can wear my glasses inside.
Hey. I just bought these and seem to have issues with 3D mode. When I switch to 3D mode the screen gets blurry and lower resolution. Makes it almost impossible to see. Any idea why this is?
So I'm wondering if the distance of the drone is effected at all? I know when wearing the dji goggles the distance of the drone gets cut in half. Sometimes more. How do these affect that? Thx.
Great video, Do they have ability to have screen shot, screen recording ,like you would for a tablet or phone? That would be a game changer, a plus, for me, even at the price point they are at. You stated they can use other apps, so I assume you could use DJI Go App for Inspire 1 or other drones prior to the P4P.? Okay, So I just looked these up on Best Buy and do see they are compatible with other Apps, Cool.
So I'm not as familiar with Android as some people, so for me, I'm still trying to figure out the other apps (like screen recording) that you can do with these. I think the answer is yes, you can do those things, but I have not figured it out yet. I plan to do some follow ups to this video after I have spent more time with these glasses.
When flying, do you have 2D or 3D mode enabled? I am having an issue where when I enable 3D mode (the button on the left of the controller) the screen resolution becomes blurry and unreadable. Text is not fitted properly on the screen. Any idea why? How do I get 3D mode to work correctly?
It was a great video Kelly, I would probably like a pair, but a bit out of my price comfort zone, also I just like using my IPad Pro 12.9 so idk how my eyes would feel looking at a small screen coming from such a MASSIVE screen. They are still pretty cool though, like I said in the live comments they are totally giving off a vibe of Ready Player One lol. 👍🏾👌🏾

The version of DJI GO 4 that they come with is only for Mavic Pro, Mavic Air and Mavic 2 - as I understand it. I would imagine you could use a HDMI cable to fly with a P4. I will test it and find out.
I just found out from Epson that they don't work with the mini 2 because of the controller if you buy the new controller it will work that's what Epson told me in an email
@@adamsroy2702 They can make it work with the bt-300. But they don't do that. Cell the new bt-35 is better for the Epson compagnie. Money money ...........
These look very cool. However without having ever worn them I have a couple thoughts. Perhaps in future revisions they could make an elastic headband with padding similar to what is used for sport glasses. IMO not only would this allow for better comfort and holding the glasses in the correct position but perhaps they could make the wired connection at the back. Looks like it may be cumbersome the way it is now at the side of the glasses. Hopefully these will work with other WiFi drone apps. Do these work on the mavic pro 2 with the head tracking like the dji racing goggles?
would you use or recommend using these with a Tinyhawk or other micro drones?
TinyHawk 2 is awesome. So is the NewBee BeeBrain. You would need a TX for either of those.
So I'm wondering if the distance of the drone is effected at all? I know when wearing the dji goggles the distance of the drone gets cut in half. Sometimes more. How do these affect that? Thx.
