  • Karen Read said Tuesday that she's willing to testify at her murder trial in Norfolk County Superior Court, but she said the decision will be up to her legal team.
“I’d like to fill in some holes and correct some lies, but it’s up to the attorneys and they’ll make the call, probably at the 11th hour. I’m there or not there,” she said. "I defer to them."
Read spoke briefly with reporters outside the courthouse in Dedham. She was asked if she's thought about taking the stand.

This case has gone far enough. Not because of justice or a family seeing closure, but because the Judge's bias in her rulings is just stupidity at this point. Even if Karen is found guilty (highly unlikely now), the appeal will be almost definite because of Auntie Bev.

Legally , its her personal choice . Judge always asks defendant if there decision to testify or not was their own personal choice & not pressured by her attorneys.

Because she is the most qualified person in the country- maybe the universe- to judge those arm wounds

She is a dog bite expert willing to testify, she didn't witness a dog bite. You should look into this case, it's crazy how obvious the cops attempt was to frame an innocent person to cover for another cop. After a month of prosecutor's witnesses and experts testifying, they seem more focused on proving the cop didn't do it, than making any sort of convincing case against that woman. Literally, there is zero evidence, yet the government is dragging out the trial and making fools of themselves.

@mandyohlin6886 I might ask that as AND instead of or.
Maybe she does see personal benefit, but how could there be someone more qualified than she is? She was literally a Massachusetts cop before becoming an ER doctor and a published expert on police dog bites, specifically.
How could she hear about this case and the controversy of how the arm got those wounds- tail light or alleged Massachusetts police dog bite and not think- hey. I could really help them figure this out.

Lol. She is not testifying she is guilty. The lawyers do not decide weather or not you as a defendant testify you do if are innocent as claim take the stand. Every other innocent person takes stand when they know they are innocent, ( even Murdagh knows that; reason he tried and took the stand. )

SMH. I have the opposite view: Casey Anthony, Jodi Arias, etc. Also, did you know lawyers usually advise against taking the stand if the state’s case is thin? Doesn’t mean a thing.

Anyone who is on the fence needs to watch ABC Nightline with her 9-minute video. When scrolling through the comments one stood out to me. Handle name Mattandkatieforbes. Works in a trauma Unit Level 1 hospital. The person gives the scenario how the accident would have possibly caused John's death. After seeing dog bites in the trauma unit says this is not conducive to dog bites, but they are superficial scratches. Everything they said made total sense to me and had they been on the stand I would have been left with no doubt about how John died. Karen will not testify, saying she would if that is what her lawyer's advice. I'm sure they have already suggested she not. If she really wanted to testify, I'm sure she has the right to insist. I find it off-putting that KR has too much control and close contact with her lawyers in the courtroom. A lawyer is supposed to keep their defendant to a less emotional attitude than she does. I think this also shows disrespect to John's family who have to watch her day after day.
