Subscribed! He is already noticing a big difference in the jump from 4gb RAM to 8gb RAM. Games are loading faster and can be played at a higher frame rate. Other programs that took a ridiculous amount of time to load are now loading much faster. He is very happy!

UPDATE: Just used this video again to upgrade the slow 5400 RPM HDD with a super-fast SSD all for $94 ($88 for the SSD and $6 for the cable to clone the drive). Again, fantastic video. One question, do you have a recommendation for a WiFi card upgrade? We have Gigabit internet at home but with the Dell Wireless DW1707 card she's only getting 30-35 Mbps download speeds. Thanks.
@@xXJCastXx1 Yes it does, but the RAM isn't the only thing I upgraded for her. I also swapped the regular 5400 RPM hard drive for a blazing fast SSD and now it boots up in around 6-8 seconds and all the applications load incredibly fast! I highly recommend both upgrades. The 2 RAM modules (Kingston - KCP424SS8/8) were $60 total and the SSD (Western Digital Blue 3D NAND 1024GB Internal 2.5" SATA - WDS100T2B0A) was $88 (plus a $6 cable from Amazon to clone the drive).

So i have few doubt regarding the video 1) Is it necessary to remove the keyboard just to remove the back cover of the laptop as u done in the video that's why i am asking it??? 2) Do we have separate slot to put ssd along with hdd in this particular model ??? Will wait for your reply!!
Yes. Unfortunately you have to removed the keyboard to be able to removed the 2 screw under to separate the top part with bottom. If not you can damage the laptop.
It was very helpful in taking the back off of my 2016 Dell laptop but mine was very difficult to get to the power plug in next to the DVD player I her to fix the plug in part

I missed that part, but I will create a new video for you doing that. On minute 10, from right to left the first port is the DC jack under the metal bracket. Lift the metal bracket slowly. Remove any possible screw on top of the dc jack. if there is not any, just lift the jack port. after that follow the connector and slide it out of the motherboard. Remember the dc jack is the slim port next to the metal bracket.

I will recommend you to follow step by step instructions the way that I did it because under the keyboard there are some screws that you have to remove. It is very easy. The only thing that you have to be careful is removing the DVD unit by removing the screw that is holding it. After that the screws that are holding the chasis under the DVD unit. I never had an issue with it, I had issues with a silver one model core i7 processor. I completely forgot which model was it. By any chance can you provide me a better explanation what was the issue exactly? . Do you think that maybe the power on your house or wall connector is causing damage to it. When trying to charge your laptop,the part where you connect your power plug ro the laptop wont connect to charge your laptop. You will need to change out that part on the laptop itself. Apparently their is a service bulletin on this.

I took this laptop apart to upgrade to an SSD drive. When I put it back together it didn't recognize the drive. I took it apart and it did seem like I didn't connect the cable tab in snuggly. I was able to pull it out without unlocking it. So I re-connected and put the laptop back together and this time it wouldn't power up. There's a light on the bottom front to it seems to have power but it won't power on. I have placed the cloned drive in another similar Dell that only has the one small back panel to remove and it's working fine. I have taken this one apart and put it all back together again, checking all connections but I can't figure out what I did! The battery is good. I put it in another laptop and it works. Power cord works. Any ideas?

do all dell inspiron 15 3000 series have a opticle drive in them? mine has a dummy drive and when i open it there is no were for the dvd drive to plug into when it it slid into the slot
Some of these laptop even if they bring a dummy drive. You can take put and put the DVD unit. But you have to make sure that sata connector are available. Dont forget to subscribed.

Welcome to my channel. The reason why you have to remove the keyboard. It is because you have a few screws under the keyboard that are holding below cover. If you try to remove the cover without removing the keyboard. You can break it. Please subscribed if you need any help let me know.
That depends on the year of the laptop that you have or the specific model. Some of them looks similar, but they have different setup inside. I recommend you to open it and check it inside. On this specific one you can replaced your hard drive for SSD and they sell a DVD adapter where you can removed your DVD unit and put a second solid state drive on it. Yes you have to remove the keyboard and that top cover. There is some screws holding the top cover and the below cover. In that way you have access to the memory ram, hard drive and motherboard. Under the DVD unit one you take it out, there are three small screws holding both covers. When you take out the the battery, remove the screw that is holding the DVD unit, and push it out with a flat screw driver you will see a small section to push it out next to the battery . These days 4GB of memory ram is nothing. You should upgraded to 8GB or all the way to 16GB and of course get a great SSD. Do you have core i3 or core i5 or core i7. Hopefully everything is great with you. This specific model does not support m.2 SSD (Flash storage). But there are some model that looks similar that may have the port. First option should be to check the BIOS settings to see if you have the port or open your laptop to check it physically. Better to removed all screws to perform any job inside the laptop. If you want to upgrade just the ram (with the risk of braking the housing the laptop) You can try to lift the back housing and put your fingers inside. Check my video to see on which spot the ram slots are. Or take it to a near electronic shop so they can drill down that screw, destroyed and removed it.

The RAM memory of my Dell 3567 laptop is 4 GB 2400 Mhz and I want to add 8 GB 2400 Mhz in order to be 12 GB in total. Except the 2400 Mhz specification that must be in common to run properly, what are the other specs must have the NEW RAM in common with the OLD one ? Your response will help me a lot.
Check to see if you still have warranty with Dell. If you don't, try to troubleshoot it. Did you buy it brand new? Have you ever opened it?. Remove the battery, remove the charger and hold the power button for 33 seconds, let me know if you have the same results. Once you open it make sure all the flex are all the way in. Make sure the memory ram is properly installed. Make sure the hard drive is not causing the issue, and could be possible that you have a defective touchpad.

Welcome to my channel. Most of the laptop these days are missing essentials components that are 99% of the time use. I have seen laptop with USB C ports with the lowest specs and laptop with higher specs with not USB c port. But we cannot control that. I love Dell laptops honestly I could tell that they have been made for strong environments. indoor or outdoor with high temperatures. their support service is great too.
Sometimes you have to test things by yourself. Because sometimes manufactured limited some upgrades (not sure because marketing, just because they prevent failure on their machine or they did not even test it) before was macbook pro were upgradeable, I upgraded my laptop to 16GB and my iMac to 32GB of RAM (By apple was not possible, just lie). The same happens to me with a dell laptop UP to 16GB, I had a core I7 processor, I put 32GB of ram and worked fine. My best recommendation buy the ssd and upgrade it. Please subscribe

hey there!!! mine also is the same laptop,,but it has an extra 2gb AMD graphic card of r5 M430 ddr3 , and of i5 7th gen ,4 gb of ddr4 ram.. now my concern is " 1)i want to install hyperx fury 2400ghz chips..but i dont know which kingston ram model will set for my laptop.. and also .. the dimentions of each of kingston ram models are different.. and in this videos i ve seen that ,at ram slot b , only ddr4 DIMM is mentioned .. but in hyperx ram chips it has given as UDIMM.. can it be safe if we use UDIMM instead of DIMM. 2) since i have got a AMD R5 M430 card (** shit) in my pc...can i replace it with an nvidia card...suggest me a good one" i hope ull solve my problems ..since these are being a huge pain for me. ill be soo thankful to you if you solve this burdains of mine.

UPDATE: Just used this video again to upgrade the slow 5400 RPM HDD with a super-fast SSD all for $94 ($88 for the SSD and $6 for the cable to clone the drive). Again, fantastic video. One question, do you have a recommendation for a WiFi card upgrade? We have Gigabit internet at home but with the Dell Wireless DW1707 card she's only getting 30-35 Mbps download speeds. Thanks.

@@xXJCastXx1 Yes it does, but the RAM isn't the only thing I upgraded for her. I also swapped the regular 5400 RPM hard drive for a blazing fast SSD and now it boots up in around 6-8 seconds and all the applications load incredibly fast! I highly recommend both upgrades. The 2 RAM modules (Kingston - KCP424SS8/8) were $60 total and the SSD (Western Digital Blue 3D NAND 1024GB Internal 2.5" SATA - WDS100T2B0A) was $88 (plus a $6 cable from Amazon to clone the drive).

So i have few doubt regarding the video
1) Is it necessary to remove the keyboard just to remove the back cover of the laptop as u done in the video that's why i am asking it???

Yes. Unfortunately you have to removed the keyboard to be able to removed the 2 screw under to separate the top part with bottom. If not you can damage the laptop.

I missed that part, but I will create a new video for you doing that. On minute 10, from right to left the first port is the DC jack under the metal bracket.
Lift the metal bracket slowly.
Remove any possible screw on top of the dc jack.
if there is not any, just lift the jack port.
after that follow the connector and slide it out of the motherboard.

I will recommend you to follow step by step instructions the way that I did it because under the keyboard there are some screws that you have to remove. It is very easy. The only thing that you have to be careful is removing the DVD unit by removing the screw that is holding it. After that the screws that are holding the chasis under the DVD unit. This videp is a great help but this model has a problem with the charging plug i have had to get the charging part in the laptop replaced twice.
I never had an issue with it, I had issues with a silver one model core i7 processor. I completely forgot which model was it. By any chance can you provide me a better explanation what was the issue exactly? . Do you think that maybe the power on your house or wall connector is causing damage to it. Make sure your house is ground it do not forget to subscribed.
When trying to charge your laptop,the part where you connect your power plug ro the laptop wont connect to charge your laptop. You will need to change out that part on the laptop itself. Apparently their is a service bulletin on this.

I took this laptop apart to upgrade to an SSD drive. When I put it back together it didn't recognize the drive. I took it apart and it did seem like I didn't connect the cable tab in snuggly. I was able to pull it out without unlocking it. So I re-connected and put the laptop back together and this time it wouldn't power up. There's a light on the bottom front to it seems to have power but it won't power on. I have placed the cloned drive in another similar Dell that only has the one small back panel to remove and it's working fine. I have taken this one apart and put it all back together again, checking all connections but I can't figure out what I did! The battery is good. I put it in another laptop and it works. Power cord works. Any ideas?

xlearntechnow no it slid right out. There was a very slight resistance sliding it out. Less than the clip on the keyboard flex cable

do all dell inspiron 15 3000 series have a opticle drive in them? mine has a dummy drive and when i open it there is no were for the dvd drive to plug into when it it slid into the slot
Some of these laptop even if they bring a dummy drive. You can take put and put the DVD unit. But you have to make sure that sata connector are available. Dont forget to subscribed.

Welcome to my channel. The reason why you have to remove the keyboard. It is because you have a few screws under the keyboard that are holding below cover. If you try to remove the cover without removing the keyboard. You can break it. Please subscribed if you need any help let me know.

Is it possible to have both the HDD and an SSD?
That depends on the year of the laptop that you have or the specific model. Some of them looks similar, but they have different setup inside. I recommend you to open it and check it inside. On this specific one you can replaced your hard drive for SSD and they sell a DVD adapter where you can removed your DVD unit and put a second solid state drive on it. Yes you have to remove the keyboard and that top cover. There is some screws holding the top cover and the below cover. In that way you have access to the memory ram, hard drive and motherboard. Under the DVD unit one you take it out, there are three small screws holding both covers. When you take out the the battery, remove the screw that is holding the DVD unit, and push it out with a flat screw driver you will see a small section to push it out next to the battery . Probably you put the long screen in another hole. Make sure you push the keyboard down a bit so the screw takes the keyboard hole.

These days 4GB of memory ram is nothing. You should upgraded to 8GB or all the way to 16GB and of course get a great SSD. Do you have core i3 or core i5 or core i7. Hopefully everything is great with you. This specific model does not support m.2 SSD (Flash storage). But there are some model that looks similar that may have the port.
First option should be to check the BIOS settings to see if you have the port or open your laptop to check it physically.

Better to removed all screws to perform any job inside the laptop. If you want to upgrade just the ram (with the risk of braking the housing the laptop) You can try to lift the back housing and put your fingers inside. Check my video to see on which spot the ram slots are. Or take it to a near electronic shop so they can drill down that screw, destroyed and removed it.

I have the same laptop and it freezes when it is moved or touched hard, what may be the problem?
Check to see if you still have warranty with Dell. If you don't, try to troubleshoot it. Did you buy it brand new? Have you ever opened it?. Remove the battery, remove the charger and hold the power button for 33 seconds, let me know if you have the same results. Once you open it make sure all the flex are all the way in. Make sure the memory ram is properly installed. Make sure the hard drive is not causing the issue, and could be possible that you have a defective touchpad.

I have seen laptop with USB C ports with the lowest specs and laptop with higher specs with not USB c port. But we cannot control that. I love Dell laptops honestly I could tell that they have been made for strong environments. indoor or outdoor with high temperatures. their support service is great too.

Sometimes you have to test things by yourself. Because sometimes manufactured limited some upgrades (not sure because marketing, just because they prevent failure on their machine or they did not even test it) before was macbook pro were upgradeable, I upgraded my laptop to 16GB and my iMac to 32GB of RAM (By apple was not possible, just lie). The same happens to me with a dell laptop UP to 16GB, I had a core I7 processor, I put 32GB of ram and worked fine. My best recommendation buy the ssd and upgrade it. Please subscribe

At 11:09 what is the metal plate with several holes on the lower left side of the back panel
When i opened the panel that metal plate came out
Please tell me is it any important component or can i just ignore it
Looks like it is just a isolation and protection to hold the weight even between the chasis and bracket. So plastic does not get broken. Do not forget to subscribed and welcome

hey there!!! mine also is the same laptop,,but it has an extra 2gb AMD graphic card of r5 M430 ddr3 , and of i5 7th gen ,4 gb of ddr4 ram.. now my concern is
" 1)i want to install hyperx fury 2400ghz chips..but i dont know which kingston ram model will set for my laptop.. and also .. the dimentions of each of kingston ram models are different.. and in this videos i ve seen that ,at ram slot b , only ddr4 DIMM is mentioned .. but in hyperx ram chips it has given as UDIMM.. can it be safe if we use UDIMM instead of DIMM.
2) since i have got a AMD R5 M430 card (** shit) in my pc...can i replace it with an nvidia card...suggest me a good one"

I have this model laptop but cannot take out the optical drive, don't know why it stuck. I've remove all the screw according to this video
Kindly a bit stronger slider over to the right side. Make sure you don't break the unit. Remember to pull out the screw that goes under the laptop by the DVD ends. Don't forget to subscribed.
I just have an issue with a dell laptop. DVD unit. I will teach you on a video how to remove it
