I visited downtown Detroit for the first time during the Jazz fest and was so impressed! The architecture, the clean streets, art scattered throughout, the restaurants bars and alleys, the market etc. It was amazing. Moved here from Tennessee. It's great to be part of the rejuvenation.
Bravo Michael, I loved how long this video was. It's very interesting to see how the Hudson is coming together, it's looking better. I still like the GM building better it still interesting to see. I continue to wonder how that huge glass ceiling is going to drain rain and snow. It looks like a huge bowl. Again, you can see the REN CEN in the background. It's part of Detroit, I can't imagine it not being there but in anycasse. DETROIT IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL CITY!
@@Hey_Its_J_ay hi Jay, thank you for watching the video! I actually just left the bridge and I am downtown now. I agree with you on the GM building and I think it’s absurd to even think about demolishing any of the towers. I could see 600 and 700 tower since they were built a while after the original building was. It’s very strange though because for a long time I’ve had this reoccurring dream that I’m downtown and suddenly that building just falls over. I think I might run in there and take a quick video going up the glass elevator to the top.
@@michaelanthonyvideos Wow, that's a pretty weird dream Michael. That would be so cool if you could take a video of inside the Ren Cen, especially the elevators. Those building to me are so architecturally beautiful in the way they were built. Looking forward to seeing what you take. ❤❤❤❤❤
@@Hey_Its_J_ay yeah it is weird. Usually I’m like a block away looking at it and it just tumbled over. Actually I haven’t had that dream in a while but I’ve had it at least 5 times. anyways, I meant to say towers 500 and 600 make more sense to demolish. Not the main building though.
@@michaelanthonyvideos I'm okay with them modifying it. If they remove a couple of the smaller towers, I suppose it would work. They only were built in the late 70's so still don't understand why they would consider it.
I really love the mirrored look. Exciting and I saw in another video there is a Gucci store. As a metro Detroiter, I had no idea! Now what’s going on with the RenCen I wonder? Honestly, I went to Wayne State and the city has come a LONG way since I graduated in ‘10.
@@michaelanthonyvideos I’ve been to Little Caesar’s Arena and a little bit of Corktown, a new restaurant near WSU, and a handful of new and old restaurants in recent years but I need to really explore more! It’s amazing bc the economy is so bad across country but it’s still thriving more than ever!
As a born and bred New Yorker who has never been to Detroit, I must say I am rooting for it. Everyone loves a good comeback story. Detroit is America’s underdog.
What an odd looking building next to the new skyscraper....the one with the huge skylight and moss/grass growing in places. Also interesting perspective of seeing both bridges in the one shot.
They should've stuck with the original plans with it being over 900ft Detroit always scales back on big projects or if they get done at all but other than that it's a decent looking building
You probably never been you believe the media. Detroit is full of life. By the looks of your profile picture you went to Dubai which I heard is a ripoff and the building that is seen in your profile picture doesn’t even have proper plumbing.
Shoutout to Detroit, for continuing to keep going after its setbacks.
