Great work as always Jacob! What an amazing adventure we had, felt like we were checking out someone's build in Minecraft lol. Cant wait for more future endeavors together!
I live like 15-20 minutes from there. Cool to see you up this way. Theres LOTS of cool stuff hiding in the woods and moutains here. Old mills, farm remnants. Lots of cool stuff like I said. Enjoy the hikes!
I used to hang out there and sleep there all the time when I lived in Royalston, used to love this place, I miss it so much. I've changed that trampoline a few times, it should be safe, last time I changed it was 2021.
We camped there friday night, left saturday morning, Must have just missed you. The cans of soup and propane tank are from me and free for anyone to use.
Can you cite the leaving it to the public? My understanding was that he sold the property to someone else and the building was classified as condemned.
Interestingly, Noah and I spoke with a lot of Royalton locals, and none of them knew about it lol. I believe it’s a very niche and hidden spot within the town itself, despite being pretty well-known online and in the urbex community.
I was just lookong around for the location and stumbled across a 2 year old reddit post where someone says they bought it from him but they are wanting to sell it too, so im not so sure about it being public and free to explore
Oh hmm interesting, I don’t think I saw that post… it’s strange too because when you’re on the physical site, there are papers and artwork everywhere referring to it as an open, public community site. Maybe something got lost in confusion along the way…
Hey so I’ve got some news for you, Fernald isn’t as patrolled anymore (during daytime DO NOT GO AT NIGHT THEY HIRED SECURITY) but at day they aren’t there and as long as you get in before anyone sees you to call you in to Waltham PD you’re fine. I went a few days ago explored for 3 hours didn’t have a thing to worry about even other hikers were there. But yesterday I went at night and the office building across from the chapel road entrance on Waverly oaks road has security who also watches Fernald so if you were to go please go at daylight other people go and I’ve never had any run ins with police or security during the day. It’s also great since you look less suspicious during daylight since the teenagers who tag and destroy shit go at night Edit: I’d like to explore this place more with explorers like y’all since I never find the supposed tunnels or the literal 10+ buildings I still haven’t seen.
Interesting, thanks for the information! I’ve avoided Fernald for years now just because security always seemed extremely high there, and the risk just did not seem worth the reward (I know a couple people who have been arrested there). But I agree that daytime is safer than nighttime overall when exploring. I’ll definitely keep this in mind, thank you!
@@j-mass I believe to save money Waltham hired a security company to watch the office buildings and the Fernald school and if security sees you then they call Waltham PD. Same goes for passers by on waverly oaks road if you get seen you may get snitched on so if you go you gotta wait till there’s nobody there, confirm there is no security vehicle watching and then run up the road past the gate and to the power plant building (you can see the smokestack from the road). I’ve never had any issues during the day with security or Waltham PD just make sure nobody sees you entering so that you won’t get called in
One of his first videos showed how he built a simple lumber mill. He also had previously spent time helping other people build off grid houses thru a community program.
Looked at the name quick, thought it said, Royalston. ever been to that one? in the common there, it's law that your house has to be painted white,,,, i call the little town, "the old sturbridge village they still use. an undle of mine did a lot of carpentry work there, he was well known with many owners. i'm rambling again
Hello J-MASS, A quick piece of constructive criticism. This is in no way meant to heap crap on you, just something that will help your channel. PLEASE STOP SWEARING!! ESPECIALLY THE F BOMB! I’m no prude. I know plenty of fathers that watch RUclips with their kids and most of them avoid channels with heavy swearing like yours. If you remove that dialogue from your videos you will get many more subscribers. Imagine sitting down to watch a video with your 6yo son. You find a cool vid of a young guy exploring a long abandoned place something you can talk about with your son. Son look at this cool factory. This is where people made steam locomotives. Your son’s eyes widen as he’s never seen anything like this before. Then out of nowhere "this is F’en this and F’en that?? It’s language fathers don’t want their kids hearing as they will hear plenty of it soon enough. Also it makes you sound as though you have a limited vocabulary. I hope you take this the right way as it’s intended. I love your videos.
I really appreciate the comment-thank you so much for shining some light on this! You make a very good point, and I admit that I now feel a bit embarrassed for my excessive use of swearing, as I don’t know what age groups are watching these videos. I really appreciate you taking the time to highlight this, and I will absolutely take this as a point of constructive criticism! I admit that I do tend to swear quite a bit in my private dialogue, but I will try to limit my use in future stuff! Thank you!

It’s such a cool place! Honestly, I’d love to go back there sometime in the summer and camp out overnight!
Loved that place when I went last month, glad you got to see it!
Glad you liked it dude, that’s awesome! Did it look any different even a month ago?
@@j-massnot really down to the same graffiti looks the exact same, although it used to be much more lively only a few years ago
Good afternoon from Cape Cod ⛵ very cool exploration guys. Quite the interesting spot. Thanks for bringing us along and be safe 👍✌️🇺🇲
Thanks so much for tuning in man! 🙌
Great video! But what do you mean by "upstate Vermont?"
Haha good catch! Should have said “central” or “northern” 😂
We camped there friday night, left saturday morning, Must have just missed you. The cans of soup and propane tank are from me and free for anyone to use.
Haha wow, what a coincidence-we were there on Sunday morning! We missed you by just one day!
Can you cite the leaving it to the public? My understanding was that he sold the property to someone else and the building was classified as condemned.
The building was charged by a solar panel and battery outside of the roof
Awesome place!!
Agreed, it was such a cool spot to explore!
Big building was his workshop
Sheetmetal, Sheetmetal….. Drink! 🥃
Never heard of this place but I might just visit! I am surprised the town allows it to be here

Look at what the disgraceful scum that vandalized and graffiti this place have done.
I'm going to have to come here now
Wow royalton is right on i 89 if I go to a Trip to Vermont will definitely check it out.
I-89 actually encircles the woods around this house; you can hear the rushing traffic even while hiking deep into the woods!
0:59 it looks like your hair in your early videos
How does 1 person build a building??? Is that possible
One of his first videos showed how he built a simple lumber mill. He also had previously spent time helping other people build off grid houses thru a community program.
This is nothing. See the 3 story mansion dome he built entirely by hand in panama. This is like a first try.
I live in south Royalton and go there sometimes
I live in soro ill have to try to find this
filming with wet hair? call the cops!
🤣
This is fucking awesome
I absolutely agree, this was such a sick spot!
I’ve been there
