Growing up a little white boy from a small town in the 1970s I used to watch Soul Train every Saturday at 1 p.m. Faithfully and I knew when I grow up I wanted to be a black musician and play in a funk band!!!!!!
Soul Train came on after Fat Albert where I lived. I watched it every weekend. I’m also white and from a small town so I watched the commercials in awe and confusion. I always wondered what Afro Sheen was. 😂
I miss the days when you could tell the band was having fun together. My generation had some of the best music ever. No wonder so many young people are tuned into our music!
I miss those days, too. It's one of many reasons why I'm always coming here to watch this video, and 'September' by Earth Wind & Fire. They look like they're having the best time. If those two songs don't have you dancin' on your feet or in your seat, you need to check to see if you still have a pulse.
