Exactly I don’t expect him to win a world title for at least another 3years and there’s nothing wrong with that, MvG was at his top level for longer than the 3 years he won world title as one example, it’s hard to win the worlds and its the one every player wants to win most, I have sneaky feeling for bunting or aspinall to take it this year
It’s the ones that stay under the radar that have the least pressure while now littler and MvG are the ones expected to win it like defending champion world no.1 getting dumped out before the quarters was the one who should of been there in at least the semis
Peter wright will be the winner I should pick over buntz and asp but don’t want to just because beat world no.1
Either way LETS JUST ENJOY IT because we in for a treat whoever the winner 😊

If the hunger stays with him for the love of darts , littler will overshadow Taylor … not with world titles or matchplays , the game is much harder nowadays , players much better BUT he’ll hit heights with averages and totally wiping opponents out to show he is just as good as prime Taylor

    • @Matthew-fb6lh
      @Matthew-fb6lh 3 дня назад +1

@Chelskie-darts well when u think about it there's far more titles and competitions to win now than when taylor had his running streak of titles so statistically he could hammer taylors record but only if he's got the hunger and mental strength

@ : 100% mate , if Taylor was prime now he would still win major titles BUT not to the extent he did back in day …. As much hunger and desire Luke needs to be the best , I hope he makes time for himself , to remain a teenager and enjoy himself (to a certain degree) and have a family in future and enjoy life , his got great parents and a cracking team behind him who have done a superb job atm

@@Chelskie-dartswe don’t know this. Maybe Taylor had an extra gear on top of what he showed us. He did what was necessary to be the best. Taylor was getting older and could still live with a prime mvg. Don’t forget that in those years the top standard was better then now.

I say Well done to the nuke because he showed tremendous remarkable composture when under pressure he didn't lose his composture when things didn't go the way he wanted them I have a hearing problem so I have learned to take careful note of people's facial expressions because it tells me a lot more about what they saying than well I can actually hear so watching them I see some of the players react with a lot of loss of composture when they hit even one wrong dart and Not with Luke I didn't notice any negativity in this facial composture when under pressure it's truly amazing the way he plays I've enjoyed watching his games enormously

  • @martyclarke969

I noticed a little smugness creep in to Littler a month or two into his journey and he stamped it right out and has become a remarkably mature, well rounded player that puts a lot of the old guard to shame, he is a real ambassador for the game and all at 17??? Me and my husband have just watched an excellent match tonight.
I really like young Luke but tonight I found his pre-match interview a little bit, well sorta expectant: like he'd already written off Ryan Joyce as an easy ride.
Think the truth was Ryan was aware he had a tough draw but would give it his best shot. Which he certainly did.
Don't get much better then that. Well Done👏 that was a cracking game. Ryan has a really nice, calm, unflappable manner. We were well impressed 👏
As for Luke: stay the nice 17yr old while you can for as long as you can. Of course play on your strengths but don't get too cocky. That'd be a kiss of death for a really likeable, extremely talented kid.

You read too much into that - he said he knew what he had to do and that he had the game to it. Joyce knew his finishing strength and that he doesn't score as heavily as he needs to. In the end he almost matched Littler's scoring and Littler lost a few legs when he couldn't finish. Great match.

    • @512Squared

Self-belief can often find across as arrogance, but all the top players want that self-belief because in tight situations it can be the difference. Cultivating an appearance of invulnerability is a big part of being the best in the world. I wouldn't read too much into it.
He seems to be owning the fact he's become a super star who has lifted his sport like a young Tiger did with golf.

The thing is this very young man has yet to experience life in ALL it's glory. The ups and downs, relationships, the constant concern for balance in life between the stresses and demands of your personal aspirations and those of your partner or family. I'm sure he's still living at home and yet to endure the pressures of daily life, managing the bills and a mortgage as well as investments not to mention the unexpected things life throws at you. Let's see where he's at in just 10 years when he's only 27 lol. For now he's a kid who's been doing nothing but playing and focusing on darts since he was like 3 or 4 for crying out loud......you should be that damn good when thats all you've done in your life and all you currently do and focus most of your time and attention on. Enjoy it while you can and get as much as you can out of it for the Sun does eventually set on everyone.
