Él mismo nos dice en sus comentarios:
TIENTOS DE LA TROMPA ALADA es una obra para Trompa y Piano en tres movimientos: Tiento I, II y III. Su título está inspirado en el penúltimo verso del poema de Góngora A Don Francisco de Padilla, castellano de Milán, donde aparece la trompa alada. Mi intención con este calificativo al instrumento en potenciar su agilidad a la vez que su potencia, rehuyendo en lo posible la posible pesadez e inercia del instrumento.
El Tiento español se originó ya en el siglo XV, expandiéndose en el s. XVI. Como forma musical era, en muchos aspectos, similar a la Fantasía alemana, inglesa o de los Países Bajos, y al Ricercare y la Toccata italianas. La palabra Tiento proviene del verbo tentar (probar). Por ello, se llamaba originalmente Tiento a una pieza técnica que permitía al intérprete afinar y/o comprobar el instrumento y su propia destreza y virtuosismo.
Con esta obra he intentado mostrar la capacidad técnica y el virtuosismo del solista en tres Tientos o pruebas que comparten material y elementos comunes, pero que forman un tríptico claramente definido.
La composición de TIENTOS DE LA TROMPA ALADA finalizó el 10 de enero de 2019. Está dedicada al trompista Javier Bonet, quien, junto a la pianista Miriam Gómez-Morán, realizarán la primera grabación mundial en CD.

TIENTOS DE LA TROMPA ALADA (TIENTOS from the Winged Horn) is a work for Horn and Piano in three movements: Tiento I, II, and III. Its title is inspired by the next to the last verse of the poem by Gongora A Don Francisco de Padilla, castellano de Milan, where there appears a winged horn. My intention is to describe the agility of the instrument as well as its power, avoiding as much as possible its heaviness and awkwardness.
The Spanish Tiento originated in the 15th century, expanding into the 16th century. As a musical form, it was in many respects similar to the German, English or Dutch Fantasia or the Italian Ricercare or Toccata. The word Tiento comes from the verb tentar or probar, to try. The Tiento was originally a technical piece that permitted the player to fine tune or check out the instrument and his own dexterity and virtuosity.
With this work I have tried to show the technical facility and virtuosity of the soloist in the three Tientos or studies that use common material and elements, but that form a clearly defined tryptic.
The composition of TIENTOS PARA LA TROMPA ALADA was completed January 10, 2019. It is dedicated to hornist Javier Bonet.
