Awsome video. And it did help, i dont have a cnc machine. But amazon sells that tool for my GMC and it came with a new seal. It was 13$. Great video keep making more like it

How do you take the selector shaft out? The threads are all chewed up... Need to replace it.. Does it just unscrew once the seal is out?

hi, there will be a bracket inside trans. you will also need to remove valve body and also lower rear end of trans to be able to slide out shaft if it will hit the floor arch. cheers
I have another issue.. Which led me to replace the shaft seal..
The manual shifter shaft will pop in and out ever so slightly.. so I can't get the b&m shifter cable to work properly.
I heard there is a castle nut lock nut inside the transmission holding on to the shifter shaft and wonder if perhaps the nut loosened for some reason.
Any ideas on why it would do such a thing? Any ideas on the torque specs for the lock nut on the inside of the tranny and on the shifter lever shaft?

hi, the shaft will usually have a small amount of play. those bm shifters are a mongrel to adjust. best to remove the trans pan to confirm the selector matches the position of the shifter with the position in the trans on rooster comb. cheers
Great video. Unfortunately iam not as "adventurous" as you so I bought the shaft seal remover tool but it won't slide over the thicker part of the shaft. Sp I can't remove the seal. Any ideas on why this is the case?

hi, sounds like you may have wrong seal remover. can you try machine the inner part of remover so can fit over the shaft? try an engineering workshop with a lathe. cheers
Hi thanks so much for your response . I finally got the tool over the shaft it was tight but worked. Some people on line said that the for was snug too.
