Did the Edelbrock on my ‘14 BRZ and it added what was missing - no regrets! It added 90-ish whp with 92 octane premium fuel. Best car improvement I’ve done and it was fairly easy to install.

Depends on your power goal. Positive displacement superchargers add a lot of low end torque and are capable of 400hp under the right conditions.

And again on the pros on why sc is better over all. U can achieve 300+ wheel like any turbo. It can still make nasty sounds(maxflow racing bov 😂) it has linear power throughout the whole rpm range so u don’t have to be flooring it to get instant throttle response. It’s more reliable long term, better suited for daily driving, u can get carb legal sticker ones(even if u don’t plan on keeping it legal) just in case u get pulled over since we do live in California 🙄. U get to keep ur aftermarket header, unlike a turbo since the manifold replaces it. I feel turbos are for people who want to pursue that 400+ whp and are gonna build their engines eventually. But this car doesn’t need that much power to make it feel insanely fast. Hope that helped u chris

They’re just so expensive. 4/5k for 70-90 HP right? If the car came with anything more than 260HP I would get one too with no regrets, but spending 5k just to get to the 300 mark makes me so hesitant.
But with that being said, that’s just looking at a bigger picture and comparing to other cars. If I easily came up with the money I would definitely do it. The car already feels good on the street in the canyons, so I know any frs/brz owner would love the extra power.

i think supercharge are nice its more linear power but with a turbo you can make more power with tune compate to the base tune of a supercharger

I have a brz on e85 and it is fun to drive and pretty reliable but if your like me and you want to race and feel the thrill of just doing pulls all the time , ur definitely not going to be to satisfied when many and I mean many stock cars beat you on straight aways..boost is much needed for this car so it can fill all ur needs if u know what I mean
I don’t think I would wide body mine. But I would love to turbo it. Maybe a Jackson racing turbo kit. & build my blank canvas without the wide body though. The funny thing is I haven’t even drove one yet. & I’ve wanted this car since it came out back in 2012.
I was looking into heaps of superchargers one of the best on the market is HKS V3 Supercharger it pushes around 320hp with E85 and upgraded pulley, but I switched to turbo as you don’t get the power figures you want with superchargers.
I’ve got the HKS GT3 RS turbo and pushing around 370 hp on stock internals.
Is it blown yet?

All u need now is to feel the vortech and see which one delivers the power better for u. All superchargers for the most part do the same numbers with the same supporting mods but they all deliver the power a little different

Yo bro! Hey im going to your cruise with my buddy nando and his boosted FRS and i heard you were looking for recommendations for places to go to in LA. We should hit up the fast and furious locations like the Torretto house and the diner. Go to downtown long beach too and drive over by shoreline drive and stuff.
Go turbo the feeling when boost kicks in is incredible but be careful on stock internals
Supercharger, are you able to run the same amount of boost as a turbo and it be safer than a turbo on stock internals? Or if your running 12 pounds on stock internals with a turbo, you’ll blow just as quick as a supercharger on 12?
Asking because if a supercharger is a little safer I would want to run that, especially being in Cali. But if it does the same amount of damage then I’ll definitely turbo hands down
im dat nigga you can run a lot more boost and get a lot more power out of a turbo. But if you were to boost your car on stock internals I’d keep it at low boost until you can build the motor to be safe.

MJaay 100%. But my question is would a 10psi Turbo do more damage/damage sooner than a 10psi supercharger both on stock internals? I would think the turbo would do more damage even if it’s the same boost as a supercharger

in my honest opinion, turbos are fun as fuck yeah but Id go with supercharger if it were my daily project because its almost as easy to install as any bolt-on compared to what you need for turbos. just my two cents.
