Type R was definitely not factory, don't be too disappointed. I've learned over the years to just do some basic Bolt-ons (intake, exhaust, and tune) with some nice wheels and lowered springs, and just enjoy the car. There's always going to be somebody faster. I've had built cars that always broke something. Just have a car with a few mods that's streetable and reliable that you really love, then spend the money you save for your future endeavors.

Now a 4 cylinder turbo “sleeper” and an obnoxiously loud V8 best if both worlds
It's all good bro, that type R could easily be tuned with e85 and push like another +100 whp. Just having a boosted FRS in general is a win in my book considering like more than 95% of the ones on the street are NA and i bet 9/10 people who try to race you will definitely not be expecting it lol
Right. Boosted frs’ always get me excited because i know they put in work for the setup! We get the stock turbos so its not as cool but i still love my Si 🤝

He shouldve went for a turbo. IMO unless you got 8-9k worth of revs, a supercharger isn't worth it for a 4banger

The truths hurts lol. Even a non sporty mommy's car can take out a stock FRS or brz. Those cars are slow on a straight. But the handling is amazing on those things. Definitely made for circuits.

Them type r’s are no joke !
They are fast for an stock civic but I much rather drop 8-10k into an RSX type s or 8 Gen civic SI, those will literally push just as much power as that k20c1 even if it’s fully tuned. We made an stock motor RSX get to 453hp but it didn’t last long & blew up after 2 months.

I venture to say with the new BRZ/GR86 will be a different story with a supercharger. The lower RPM torque avail and larger displacement will make a big big difference. I am anxious to see what they pull out of it.

Drove my BMW 318i to the Toyota dealer when the FRS first came out and was so disappointed in the performance of the FRS I didn't buy. It handled great though but it did not feel any quicker than my slow 318.

Don't feel bad,my civic type R look stock but I decided to put my money under the hood so is FBO with catted DP and oem exhaust(car still quiet as hell) but is running e30 and also spraying water meth so is right around 427hp and that is one fast civic.

@@brokentradgedy personal preference, even though I prefer civics I'd say the newer ones just not my thing. Older ones looked a lot better and I would have to go with the frs. Something about the frs especially on stock just looks clean but aggressive in a simple manner while civic just feels like they're trying too hard to look aggressive.
