I can see the potential and the skills that make people like him, I think he has a high ceiling, but I also can see the low floor/bust potential. He reminds me a bit of Rudy Gay, tall forward who falls in love with the midrange and who doesn't create for others a lot, but I also see the upside. Have to watch him more.
In my opinion he has every red flag an offensive prospect could have. Crazy to me people still think he’s in the top 3 1. Inability to get to the rim 2. Inability to dribble in the half court 3. Inability to pass in general but even more so off the few advantages he creates 4. Takes a ton of terrible shots early in the clock 5. Decision making is very questionable Offensively he needs to be used a MPJ type expecting him to be a top 2 guy on your offense is just begging for him to be a bust.
But he also has elite touch, has proven to be an great shot maker, and imo is the 3rd best defender in the class (behind Flagg, and cmb and u can argue him over cmb on potential). Hes def not top 2, i personally still have him 3
@5starileyYeah but I don’t know if that offsets everything the original comment mentioned. If he goes to the Wizards or Nets, and they expect him to be a franchise saving number 1 option, he’ll basically be set up to be a bust. I hope he turns out well though
@@obi3924 yea I don’t think he should go to team that needs a number one option. His ideal situation is one similar to his one rn. A team who already has an established main ball handler who can attract the defense and kick it out to him and allow him to attack the close out. I know this pistons won’t pick him but that would be an ideal situation
@5stariley Yeah I’m a pistons fan. If we end up with the 7th or 8th pick and Ace Bailey is still available, I’d probably be happy taking him, but it would be in the context of hoping that he turns out to be MPJ with better defense, which would be a good player, but not a top 2 offensive option
Easily a top 3 player in this class. He should have gone to a program that utilized his strengths while discouraging bad habits. Same thing with his NBA coach.
He should have gone to a better program in high school tbh. A lot of his deficiencies would show up at any college program rn and take concerted development lasting well over a season. He has minimal bend, lacks burst, lacks strength, and you can tell he’s been the center of an offense his whole life. He probably won’t find the early scoring success players like Anthony Edwards or Brandon Miller did, but he’s gonna be really good eventually. Depends on the team who drafts him tho.
I think if he gets into the right enviroment development wise and a coaching staff that highlights his strengths, he can be an impactful player. If he improves his handle even slightly and adds some core strength, he's gonna be a problem
Anyone knows the instrumental in the beginning?? I heard it before and it's annoying that I cant figure it out. I think it's either from Currensy, Joey Badass or Mac Miller
Enjoyed this, and would point out that Rutgers doesn't have a great system or talent to feature Ace, and yet his tape is quite favorable. He should go in the top ten as a switchable wing who can defend with promising off-ball skills and the potential ability to create his own shot at the NBA level before his 21st birthday.
If he gets to Toronto, it's wraps. We know what Masai does. Obviously atp he's extremely raw and needs a lot of developing, but if you look at the film of college Carmelo and him, they play almost exactly the same. Obviously they have Very different body types, but the playstyle and shotmaking and footwork is the same. Ace is the biggest risk in this draft, but he also probably has the highest ceiling of any of them. Bust for sure if he goes to Utah or Nets, but Toronto will maximise his potential, which is scary.
He’s averaging 18 PPG while shooting 47% from the field, and he isn’t even close to being a disciplined player yet. Doesn’t turn 19 until August. He has the most raw talent in this class, and it’s not really close.
@@jojoprocess2820There are maybe a half dozen players in the NBA that can consistently “make tough jumpers” on a mighty basis and he’s cut from that cloth. If that raw talent can be nurtured in a system that teaches him better fundamentals on both sides of the ball, then he’d be the best raw prospect in this draft no question.
@jojoprocess2820 Ace nba 1st seasons gonna turn out just like Brandon miller n rookie jayson tatum before he put on muscle. Scout reports are questioning he’s shot selection but he doesn’t have to worry about that when he’s teammates will all be a threat offensively. Every star struggled wit shot selection early in their career cause they’re overly confident that they can hit any typa shot which is easily fixable. He fosho the most talented in this yr draft in terms of star player.
Ppl make these vids like they played the game. Talent is talent. And just know this kid outworks everyone. And what separates him from the rest is that he didn’t play on teams with top tier talent so he grinds for wins. College is an adjustment for any 18 yr old. Keep highlighting Flagg’s Olympic run when pros not practicing hard for real. Name a kid from mountverde that had a superstardom career… I’ll wait. He’s clearly one of the best shooters in this years draft class. Tough shot after tough shot but he’s making them. He has good footwork on both ends of the court. He will grow as a playmaker and create shot. He 18 and skinny. He will grow into his body like Giannis or Tatum or George did. Kid has superstardom written all over him. Just wait
He gives me mpj / JR smith discipline 10:37 shot to assist diet. Hes not looking to pass at all. Talent & athletic abilities wise hes top 3-5. Play style drops him
@Sebastian_Toglia agreed with you there. I believe personally his talent, athletism and potential combination has the highest chance for success since Ace knows he's coming in as a swingman.
Man this is Jabari smith all over again. I was so high on bari a few years ago, 6'10 wing, with elite shotmaking and a clutch gene, and very good defender but look how it turned out. Bari couldn't easily create advantages with his handle, can't pass and was a bad decision maker. He got drafted to a team where they didn't allow him to play through his mistakes, and now in year 3, he's just a role player on a good team avg. 11pts with bad efficiency. Him and Bailey are similar but also situations matter. It all depends on whose gonn' pick him and will they allow him to learn from his mistakes or are they gonna turn him into a role player from day 1.
I agree that he has some pretty significant flaws, but no way he falls to the late lotto. You really think the Charlotte’s and Portland’s of the NBA are going to grab Boogie, Newell, Traore, or Knueppel over a potential Rashard Lewis/Carmelo Anthony type guy? GM’s don’t want to draft a bust, but passing on a star is even worse.
Chiddddddd! Compared to Ben Simmons,Rudy Gorbert "& the string Bean in San Antonio this kid is the real deal! All them mediocre bad habits are Fixable!!!!!!! No#1 pick 2 nd pick at Best trustme
Kasparas reminds me of Podziemski, who plays for the Warriors. Both are unathletic and need double screens to get off their shots. They are severly limited. I would draft Jeremiah Fears, Tre Johnson, Ian Jackson, Tahaad Pettiford, Boogie Flynn, Xaivian Lee and other backcourt players, before thinking of selecting him. He has short arms and he doesn't elevate.

Bingo. Nothing more to add here.

Makes me wonder how high a team would draft a player to fill a Michael Porter Junior role.
Rashard Lewis ✅

I’ll say if he continues to limit his dribbling like he did against Columbia today then he’ll be on the right path

@joriansmith-sherry9148 appreciate it bro!
Most scrutinized pkayer in college basketball, yet others around him have flaws. Dont overthink it. He aint going pass #3
Lowest I see is 4 if some other team loves loves loves Jaku.

Needs to go somewhere with a big creator. Raptors is a good fit for sure. Charlotte or Portland could be good too.

His only talent is hitting tough jumpers. Thats not an easy path to become a star. He absolutely does not have the most "talent"

Coach & work ethic is going to matter most with him. I will bet on him!
Ace Bailey will be drafted by the Raptors
its funny because you seem to want to temper the pg and tmac comps, however hes actually miles ahead of those players at the same age.
There hasn’t been a prospect since Brandon Ingram that reminds me of Kevin Durant. I hope Utah gets a chance to draft this talented dude.
LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, Ace Bailey at PG, SG, SF 🔥 Trio in Charlotte
I’m confused how tall is he actually giannis said 6’7 you say 6’9 announcers say 6’10 and he claims 6’10 too what y’all think looking at him?
Probably 6'8 barefoot. Need to wait for the combine to be certain.
Hope you do Fears next
Can you do a short on ian Jackson?

Brandon Ingram and Demar derozen hybrid
Is he less efficient than Carmelo ?
He's absolutely nowhere near Melo, even Freshman Syracuse Melo
So you’re telling me he’s a raw Trey Murphy ?

I think Ace will have to play a lot more off ball to start his career. He'd be nice next to a big wing creator like Barnes.
the red flag for me is no awareness of the players around him, and try to pass the ball to the open man. not just look for his shot
His BPM has gone up to 1.4
Spot on, I agree

Seems super unwieldy to me, not sure I see it.
I think the player he most resembles is Deandre Hunter
Too high risk, I’d rather get Egor or Kasparas if I have third pick
Kasparas I get. Egor has been meh since the competition picked up.
